저희 영어수업만의 노하우로 학생 대만족 수업을 하고 있습니다.
저희의 중점은 일상생활과 관련된 프리토킹과 문장구문을 입으로 익히게 만드는 문답식 수업입니다. 물론 교재수업을 포함한 수업도 가능합니다. 그러나 어른들은 거의 100%가 저희 프리토킹과 문답식 수업을 선호하고 만족하고 수업을 하고 있습니다.
아침은어떠셨어요? 지난밤잘잤나요? 아침먹었나요? 지난주에뭐했나요? 어제는뭐했나요? 날씨는어떤가요? 지난밤잘주무셨나요?등등…
저희 수업은 이런 개인적인 질문으로 수업을 시작하지 않습니다. 헬로우.. 를 하고 바로 프리토킹 주제로 대화가 시작 됩니다. 물론 프리토킹 주제로 대화를 시작하면서 개인적인 이야기는 나눌 수는 있지만 그 주제를 벗어난 질문을 하지 않는 것이 저희 방침입니다. 그리고 대화 주제는 물론 학생이 선정을 하구요.
첫번째로 … 매주 4가지이상 다른 주제로 프리토킹을 할 수 있도록 자료가 주어집니다. 주제들은 보통 일상생활과 관련된 주제들이고 내가 경험한 것이나 혹은 다른 사람의 경험 이야기로 선생님과 대화를 나눌 수가 있습니다. 예상질문들과 예상 대답이 미리 주어지기 때문에 한번만 간단하게 읽어보시면 프리토킹이 많이 어렵지가 않습니다.
두번째로… 저희만의 문답식 수업이 있습니다. 문답식 수업에서는 문장 구조를 익히게 하는 수업을 해 드립니다. 사전에 녹음을 들으면서 한 두번만 읽어보시고 수업을 하시면 됩니다. 이 문답식 수업을 통해서 문맥을 연습하면서 영어문법도 자연스럽게 익혀나갈 수 있습니다. 여기에 한 스텝만 올려 드리겠습니다.

8. About Korean Thanksgiving Day (spend 1-3 days with this subject) - for kids and grown-ups.
가족끼리 추석을 지내신 분들은 그 내용을 선생님에게 설명을 해도 되고.. 혹시 추석을 특별하게 지내지 못하신 분들은 한국 사람들이 일반적으로 어떻게 추석을 지내는지를 설명하면서 프리토킹을 하셔도 됩니다. 중급되시는 분들은 1번인지 2번인지 설명을 잘 하시겠지만 혹시 기초이하이신 분들은 먼저 옵션중에서 1번인지 2번인지 번호를 말씀해 주시면 학생이 말을 잘 못하더라도 선생님이 잘 이해를 하시고 프리토킹이 좀더 원할하게 이루어질 것입니다.
기초되시는 분들도 처음 질문에 간단하게 대답을 하시면 선생님들이 적절한 질문을 간단하게 하실 것입니다. 왕기초분들은 간단하게 단어만 던지면서 이야기를 하여도 됩니다. 적절한 문장을 선생님이 만들어주면 따라하면서 수업을 하시면 도움이 됩니다.
그러나 중급 되시는 분들은 본인이 알아서 조목 조목 설명을 하시면 영어로 말을 많이 해보는 기회를 갖게 될 것입니다. 선생님이 추석에 대해 잘 모르기 때문에 중급되시는 분들은 학생이 리더를 하시면서 이야기를 하시는 것도 좋습니다.
1번... 어떻게 추석을 준비하고.. 아침에 일어나서 특별한 가족끼리 식사, 차례를 지내고, 성묘를 가기, 친척이 방문을 왔거나 친척을 방문, 혹은 가족끼리 어디를 다녀 온 경우 등등을 이야기 하시면 됩니다. 지난 추석에 가족끼리 무엇을 했는지 간단히 설명을 하시면 됩니다.
2번... 일반적으로 한국사람들이 어떻게 추석명절을 지내는지를 설명하시면 됩니다. 차례, 성묘, 성묘음식, 절하기 등등 성묘때 하는 간단한 행위등을 설명하면서 키가 되는 어휘력을 익히면서 프리토킹을 하시기를 바랍니다.
1번 2번은 약간 다르게 질문들이 나가기 때문에1,2번을 모두 다 하셔도 됩니다.
8-1. (I will talk about what I did with my family on Korean Thanksgiving Day ( Chuseok) last week?
visiting family? how long ? celebrating the day with plenty of food? Special food? who made the food? what kind of food? special food?(called Songpyeon) any reason? special traditional costume? ( called Hanbok), visiting Grandma’s grave? grandfather? great-grandfather? or did you have any visitor? who? did you visit your family? who? how far? who was that? were they any special activities (games) for the day with your families? what kind of games? did you visit any other place with your family for a day trip? where? how far? was it busy with many people? is it easy to buy food on that day? How about restaurants? are they open on that day? any episode during thanksgiving day to talk about? is there any interesting thing to talk about? is there any interesting person to talk about? your mother in law? father in law? anything about your parents? your relatives? how many relatives did you meet during the holidays?
8-2. I will talk about how Koreans usually celebrate their Chuseok(Thanksgiving Day)?
(Korean family members hold memorial services called Charye(차례) in honor of their ancestors in the morning on Chuseok Day. 한국 가족은 추석 아침에 조상에게 경의를 표하여 차례라고 불리는 제사를 지낸다. - is that right?
Ceremonies paying respect to ancestors and a visit to their graves are important part of the Chuseok holidays? 조상을 숭배하는 차례를 지내고 성묘를 하는 것은 추석 명절의 중한 부분이다.) - is it right?
- holding the memorial service? all Koreans have it? Only some people… nowadays?
- Did you have the ceremony on Chuseok Day? - can you tell me a bit about that if you can?
Many families usually visit their graves (tombs)? do all family go there? what time do they usually leave home for the grave? is it far? or close? how long does it take? how about traffic jam? what kind of food to offer at the grave, - offering them rice and fruits? special food?(called Songpyeon) any reason?
what do you do at the grave? offering them some food? bowing to them?
any reason? why do people offer food to them and bow to them there? - prepare food with the newly harvested grain? and offer it to their ancestors to be thankful for a bountiful harvest.
why do Koreans visit tombs? to thank their ancestors for a good harvest? to give thanks to their forefathers? ( if they are a Christian, is it different? how? ) worship songs? pray to God? at the grave? why is it different?
what do they usually do after visiting the grave? some games? visiting other relatives?

days

- 내가 병원에 입원한 경험이 없으시면 가족중 혹은 친구가 어떻게 해서 병원에 입원을 했는데 간단하게 준비해서 이야기를 하시면 됩니다.

How do you feel about being in a hospital? feel scared? bored? just painful?
who looked after you in hospital? any of your family member stayed with you

how about visitors? were there limited times for visitors? or any time was fine
with visitors?
did you share the room with other patients? how many patients? were you
comfortable with them?
(sometimes in this case, we usually ask your mother or mother in-low.) did your
parents help with your kids or yourself in hospital?
How about the people working in hospital? friendly? kind? rude?
(only for Kids) who are working in hospital? doctors, nurses, cleaners, office
workers, pharmacists, dinner ladies who brings food. etc..
how about the hospital food. (some people say they enjoyed the food but some
say the food was horrible.) did you like hospital food? did anyone bring food
for you? who was that?
(only for Kids) Would you like to be a doctor someday? Or a nurse?
Do you think it’s nice to be able to cure and help ill people?
