내 삶의 여정에 동반자가 되어 주옵소서

나로 하여금 시간과 공간의 제한 속에서 살도록 하신 무한한 지혜의 전능하신 하나님, 이제 나로 하여금 용감하고 신뢰할 수 있는 믿음을 가지고 세상을 향하여 나아가게 해 주소서. 당신은 나에게 완전한 지혜를 주시기 않음을 기뻐하셨습니다. 그러므로 내가 보이지 않는 것을 붙잡을 수 있는 믿음의 은혜를 거절하지 마옵소서. 당신은 나 자신의 욕구대로 사물을 주조할 힘을 주시지 않았습니다. 그러므로 당신의 능력을 사용하여 당신의 뜻이 내 안에서 이루어지게 하옵소서. 당신은 내가 수고와 아픔을 통하여 위로 향해 걷기를 원하셨습니다. 그러므로 내 삶의 여정에 동반자가 되어 주옵소서.
나로 하여금 당신이 공급하시는 힘으로 나에게 나타내시는 것을 직면하게 하옵소서.
당신이 나의 하는 일을 번영케 하실 때, 내 마음 속에 주님의 말씀이 번영케 됨에 주의를 기우리게 하소서.
당신께서 나에게 캄캄한 골짜기로 가라고 부르실 때, 나로 하여금 주님의 길이 아닌 평안한 길로 돌아가지 않게 하소서.
나로 하여금 오늘 부과된 봉사의 기회를 거절하지 말게 하시고, 나를 기다리고 있는 어떤 시험에도 제물이 되지 말게 하소서.
어제의 범죄가 오늘의 삶에서 반복되지 말게 하시고, 오늘의 삶이 내일의 삶을 위한 악한 본보기가 되지 말게 하소서.
모든 세대를 통하여 신실한 영혼들을 주신 나의 조상의 하나님, 과거의 이야기가 오늘에도 여전히 살아있도록 기억의 선물을 주심을 감사합니다.(1) 나는 성도들의 생애와 그들의 모본으로부터 얻는 도움으로 인해 주님께 감사드립니다. 나는 ----와 ----와 ----와 또한 사도들과 선지자들과 순교자들과 더욱이 인간의 몸으로 세상에 오신 당신의 아들 예수 그리스도를 기억하게 하심을 감사드리며, 주님의 이름으로 기도하옵나이다. 아멘
Almighty God, who of Thine infinite wisdom hast ordained that I should live my life within these narrow bounds of time and circumstance, let me now go forth into the world with a brave and trustful heart. It has pleased Thee to withhold from me a perfect knowledge; therefore deny me not the grace of faith by which I may lay hold of things unseen. Thou hast given me little power to mould things to my own desire; therefore use Thine own omnipotence to bring Thy desires to pass within me. Thou hast willed it that through labour and pain I should walk the upward way; be Thou then my fellow traveller as I go.
Let me face what Thou dost send with the strength Thou dost supply:
When Thou prosperest my undertakings, let me give heed that Thy word may prosper in my heart:
When Thou callest me to go through the dark valley, let me not persuade myself that I know a way round:
Let me not refuse any opportunity of service which may offer itself to-day, nor fall prey to any temptation that may lie in wait for me:
Let not the sins of yesterday be repeated in the life of to-day, nor the life of to-day set any evil example to the life of to-morrow.
O God of my forefathers, who hast in every age enlightened the souls of the faithful, I thank Thee for the gift of racial memory whereby the storied past still lives with us to-day. I thank Thee for the lives of the saints, and for the help that I may win from their example. I thank Thee for the memory of .... and .... and ....; for apostles, prophets, and martyrs, but most for the Incarnation of Thy dear Son, in whose name these my prayers are said. Amen.
