더불어민주당 대변인이 유튜브에 출연해 이재명 대통령을 윤석열 전 대통령에 빗댄 것을 놓고 여권 지지층 사이에서 논란이 일고 있다. 논란이 확산하자 해당 대변인은 사퇴하겠다고 밝혔다.
이지은 민주당 대변인은 지난 9일 밤 유튜브 ‘박시영TV’에 출연해 “저는 윤석열 때부터 정치를 했다”며 “우리가 윤석열을 보면서 윤석열이 누구 찍어서 당대표를 시키고 엄청 욕을 했는데, (이재명) 대통령이 지금 이걸 하시는 건가, 설마 하는 생각이 들었다”고 말했다.
윤 전 대통령이 집권 초 이준석 당시 국민의힘 대표와 충돌하고, 김기현 대표에게 힘을 실어준 것을 언급하면서 이같은 일이 민주당에서도 반복되는 것 아니냐고 한 것이다. 민주당은 오는 8월 17일 전당대회에서 새 당대표를 뽑는다.

정 대표가 대통령 환송 행사에 참석하지 않은 건 이번이 처음이다. 청와대는 “중동 전쟁 장기화와 중앙선거관리위원회의 부실 관리 등 국내 상황을 염두에 둬 환송 인원을 최소화했다”고 밝혔다. 정 대표는 이날 비공식 일정으로 전북 전주를 찾아 친정청래계로 분류되는 이원택 전북지사 당선인과 오찬을 했다.
또 이 대통령이 지난 8일 취임 1년 기자회견에서 6·3 지방선거 결과에 대해 “납득할 수 없는 상황”이라며 당 지도부를 에둘러 비판하고, 김 총리에 대해선 “단기간에 구체적 성과를 많이 냈다” “이제는 다른 역할을 맡는 게 더 적정하다”고 한 것도 함께 거론되고 있다.
이 대변인의 발언 등 방송 내용이 알려지자 친여 성향 인터넷 커뮤니티 등에선 이 대변인을 향해 거센 공격이 이어지고 있다. 여권 인사들은 소셜미디어에 “대변인이 맞나. 귀를 의심했다” “당직에서 물러나라”고 올렸다. 다만 정 대표 지지자들은 “이 대변인 말에 공감이 간다” 등 반응도 보이고 있다.
