민주당 서영교·김용민·김영호 의원과 박은정 조국혁신당 의원, 최혁진 무소속 의원은 5일 오전 국회에서 '시민 주도 신(新)형사소송법 개정안 촉구' 기자회견을 열었다. 형사소송법 개정안을 제안한 시민 주도 모임은 한인섭 서울대 법학전문대학원 교수를 중심으로 전문가와 시민사회가 만든 단체이다.

국회 법제사법위원회 간사를 맡았던 김용민 민주당 의원은 "형사소송법을 미리 당에서 준비해야 한다고 여러 번 요구했다"며 "오늘(5일) 발표한 법안은 시민사회에서 만든 안이고, 일종의 모범답안"이라고 했다.
법사위 소속이었던 최혁진 무소속 의원은 "법무부와 검찰은 '보완수사 우수 사례집'을 연이어 발간하며 사실상 여론전에 나서고 있다"며 "이번 형사소송법 개정안에 보완수사 관련 권한을 국민권익위원회로 이관하는 내용이 반드시 포함되어야 한다"고 말했다.
