질긴 잡초 질경이

열매는 삭과(蒴果)라 자손만대 절손(絶孫) 없네
뭇 사람들과 짐승들에 짓밟히고
우마차에 깔려도
어려운 역경 잘 이기고 살아남은 질경이라
몸 낮추고 낮춰 겸손하게 살아가는 질경이
아무도 거들떠보지 않네만
허풍떨며 요란하게 벌 나비 이목 끄는
꽃들만 볼 것인가
낮게 사는 풀꽃도 도태(淘汰) 않은 데는
다 하늘 뜻이 있다하네
우유도일(優遊度日)하는 사람들아
질경이 허허실실(虛虛實實) 약점 비난 말 것이며,
질경이 놀라운 만병통치 약효(藥效) 덕본 사람도
금방 잊고 짓밟아 토사구팽(兎死狗烹)하지 말고
자기를 책(責)함이 엄중하고 주밀(周密)해야느니
욕망이나 사(詐)한 마음 억제하고
남들을 경시(輕視)하지 아니 하고
예의에 어긋나지 않을 때
질경이도 몸과 마음에 보약이 되는 거느니.

1 .삭과(蒴果)-열과(裂果)의 하나 복자방(複子房) 이 발달하여 속이 여러 간으로 나뉘고 각 간 에 많은 씨가 들어 있으며 성숙하면 벌어져 나옴.
2. 우유도일(優遊度日)-좀 넉넉하다고 하는 일 없이 한가롭게 세월 보냄
