 로스앤젤레스 북서쪽으로 90마일 떨어져 벤투라와 산타바버라 해변 안쪽에 위치한 택쳐 스쿨은 지적 신체적 근면함과 정직, 창의성, 배려심을 갖는 것을 이념이로 한다. 

특히, 택쳐 스쿨의 교과 과정과 교직원 선정 기준, 진학 상담 등은 다른 사립 및 공립학교들의 모델로 이용되고 있다. 

 교내 시설은 대형 도서관과 인문관, 과학관, 수학관과 그 하위시설, UCLA 과학자들이 세운 천문대 등이 있다.  

택쳐 스쿨의 교내 시설은 거의 미국내 최고로 꼽히고 있다. 

 주말에 학생들은 근교 여행과 스포츠 관람, 승마, 하이킹, LA나 산타바버라에서 열리는 콘서트 관람 등을 즐긴다.  

또 동아리 활동으로 뮤지컬, 미술 실기, 무용, 연극반, 합창단, 실내 성악 등의 다양한 활동에 참여할 수 있다.
