빛과 각도에 따라 살아 움직이는 나전의 색채,
그리고 옻칠 특유의 깊은 광택이 만들어내는 한국적 미감을 곁에서 직접 경험할 수 있는 기회.

[Free Exhibition] Seoul Bukchon Hanok Hall: A Small Exhibition by Lim Chung-hyu, Master Craftsman of the Republic of Korea [Treasure Hunt] 9 June (Tue) – 14 June (Sun)

1. You do not need to wait until Master Lim Chung-hyu’s exhibition in Paris, France, scheduled for October 2026. 
2. You do not need to become a state guest VIP, such as the President of Brazil. (Im Chung-hyu’s works will be presented as gifts to the President of Brazil and numerous other state guest VIPs during their state visit in February 2026.)
3. You do not need to purchase expensive jewellery immediately in order to acquire a mother-of-pearl inlaid jewellery box from a world-renowned jewellery group. 
4. You do not need to join the Incorporated Association for the Preservation and Education of Lacquer and Mother-of-Pearl Inlay Crafts. (Master Im Chung-hyu, founder and inaugural chairman of the association; inaugural general meeting held; registration of incorporation currently in progress)
 


Simply by taking a quiet stroll towards Bukchon in Jongno, Seoul, you can fully appreciate the masterpiece of Korea’s foremost master craftsman.

A genuine piece that shines brighter with the passing of time, 《Treasure Hunt》 by Master Craftsman Lim Chung-hyu, Korea’s 384th Master of Lacquerware.
This exhibition is small yet rich in substance.
Taking a brief break from the Lim Chung-hyu Gallery and Craft Workshop on Gaehang-ro in Jemulpo, Incheon,
it offers you the chance to experience, up close, the moment where tradition and modernity meet within the tranquil hanok spaces of Bukchon.
 
An opportunity to experience first-hand the Korean aesthetic created by the colours of mother-of-pearl inlay, which seem to come alive depending on the light and angle,
and the deep lustre unique to lacquer.
I am confident that this will be a time to experience an overwhelming beauty that cannot be fully captured in photographs, no matter how good the lens.
