1)You must have been very painful when the dentist had pulled out your tooth.
you->it , had pulled-> pulled

You를 왜 It으로 바꾸죠?

2)You have to have been in great agony when you had your tooth pulled out.
have to-> must

근데 must to 뒤에는 have been이 붙죠?

2. 그는 미친 사람 행세를 해서 사형을 피할 수 있었다.

He pretended madly that he managed to avoid the capital punishment.

이걸

pretended madly-> pretended to be mad,
that -> so 또는 so that

이렇게 고친다는데, 왜 그렇죠?

1-2) must 가 의무일때는 have to와 동일하지만, 강한추측일때는 have to로 대용할수 없죠. 뜻이 다르다는 거죠. must have pp = ~했음에 틀림없다.
