Every afternoon, my daily routine was exactly the same. As soon as school ended, I went straight to the study cafe to prepare for upcoming exams. Because I was always stressed about my grades and future university admissions, I rarely paid attention to my surroundings. To me, the daily walk to the study cafe was just a boring, repetitive part of my day.
One rainy afternoon, however, something caught my attention while I was waiting for the traffic light. I heard a unique, rhythmic sound that was different from the heavy sound of the rain. When I looked around, I saw a broken umbrella discarded near a trash can. The rain was hitting the loose metal frame of the umbrella, making a clear sound every few seconds.
In the middle of a busy street where everyone was rushing to avoid the rain, that broken umbrella was making an interesting rhythm. At that moment, I realized that I had been missing many things around me. I usually considered rainy days to be annoying and gloomy, but this small experience showed me that even common situations can have interesting details if we look closely.
This simple event changed my view on my busy student life. I used to think that looking for new inspiration required special events or traveling to far-off places. However, I now understand that there are always interesting things waiting to be discovered in our everyday lives. All we need to do is slow down and observe our surroundings more carefully.
