What is Time?
(1) the quantity that you measure using a clock:(시계를 사용하여 소요한 시간의 양을 나타냄)
Time seemed to pass even more quicklly than before.

Time is like money, or something that you buy and use.(시간을 마치 돈이나 또는 우리가 사고 사용할 수 있는 그
어떤 물건처럼 은유적으로 말한다) 아래의 용례와 가이;
용례: I've spent a lots of time on this project. (난 이 프로젝트에 많은 시간을 소모했다)
We are running out of time. (우리에겐 시간이 얼마 남지 않았다. 시간이 소진되고 있다)
You have used up all the time you had left. (너는 네게 남겨진 시간을 모두 써버렸다)
Stop wasting time. (시간을 낭비하지 말라)
I have no further time to spare. (나에겐 더 이상 남은 시간이 없다)

이 격언은 '할 일이 있으면 지금 결행해야 하고, 내일로 미루지 말라'는 뜻인데, 이와 같은 의미를 가르치는 교훈은
아래와 같이 여러 개가 있다. 모두가 게으름을 경계하는 말들이다.

'Gather ye rosebuds while ye may.'(장미 꽃봉오리는 꺾을 수 있을 때에 꺾어라. 청춘을 허송하지 말라)

그래서 'Tomorrow is another day' (내일이라는 날도 있다).

<Bonus>
(1) American English와 British English 상의 Time의 용법 차이:
* 몋시냐고 시각을 물을 경우:
미국에선; "What time do you have?" / " Do you have the time? "
영국에선: "Have you got the time? " ? " What time do you make it?"
* 어린 아이가 시계를 보고 시간을 말할 수 있으면 그것을 보고;
미국인은 ; 'They can tell time,'이라 말한다.
영국인은 ; ''They can tell the time.' 이라 말한다.
* 시각을 말하는 법도 다르게 말한다. 가령 3시 10분은;
미국인: 'ten of three' / 'ten after three'
영국인; 'ten past three'. 3시 10분 전은 'ten to three'이다.
(2) 표준시: 미국에는 Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Yukon, Alaska, Bering 등 7 가지 Standard Time (표준시)가 있다.
영국은 'Greenwich Time, 한국은 Korea Standard Time이 표준시.
