노마 컵스 잔류!

결국 루머 대로 1년짜리 계약을 했습니다.

노마 본인도 자신의 커리어를 깍아 먹으려는 단장들에게 아마 질렸을 겁니다.

게다가 컵스에 남기는 했지만 본인의 친구들이자 라이벌들이 받는 액수에 비하면 턱도

없으니 많이 속이 상할 듯도 합니다.

하여간 노마는 컵스에 1년 더 남기로 했습니다.

연봉은 달랑 800만

시장이 예년과 달리 달아 올라 몸 값이 천정부지로 뛰어오르는 모습보다는 냉정하게

판단하고 따져서 적정 가격으로 안정되어 가는 것으로 보입니다.

랜테리아가 1000만 부르는데 비록 브상으로 딱 절반만 뛰었음에도 3할을 넘긴 노마 800만은

컵스가 계약  잘 했다고 할 수 밖에 없을 것같습니다. 아마 노마는 어차피 장기 계약은 틀렸고

후딱 해치워서 내년 시즌 칼을 갈 듯 합니다.

이제 FA로 남은 유격수 중에 쓸만한 자원은 올란도와 에드가. 오마는 비지오와 같은 수순을

밟지 않을까 합니다.

짧막한 단신으로는 록키스가 오매불망하던 니글과의 계약을 종료 했다고 합니다.

이유는 "비도덕적 행위" 뭐 이건가 봅니다.

Garciaparra staying with Cubs, agrees to one-year deal

CHICAGO -- Nomar Garciaparra enjoyed his brief stay with the Chicago Cubs so much he's coming back, agreeing Tuesday to a one-year contract.

The five-time All-Star shortstop agreed to a $8 million, one-year contract with the Cubs on Tuesday. The deal also includes performance bonuses for games started and plate appearances.

Garciaparra hit .308 with nine homers and 41 RBI with Boston and Chicago last season. Garciaparra said at the end of the season that he would consider coming back to the Cubs, but he wanted to test the free-agent market for the first time in his career.

Garciaparra spent the first 8½ seasons of his career with the Boston Red Sox before being traded to Chicago on July 31 as part of a four-team deal.

He played only 81 games last year because of Achilles' tendon, left wrist and groin injuries. But when he's healthy, the two-time AL batting champion still has plenty of power, hitting .344 and driving in 28 runs from July 1 to Aug. 31.

Garciaparra is a career .322 hitter with 182 home runs and 710 RBI. He has hit .300 or better in seven seasons, and had a career-best 30-game hitting streak in 1997. He has been to the playoffs three times, and set an American League Division Series record in 1998 with 11 RBI in four games.
