We should not recite 'Namu Amitabha Buddha" in order to be saved, but rather because we were already save, not out of fear, but as the expression of gratitude and joy..
우리는 구원 받기 위해서 염불 하는 것이 아니라, 이미 구원받았기 때문에 염불하는 것이다. 두려움에서 벗어나기 위해서가 아니라, 감사하고 기쁨에 넘쳐 염불하는 것이다.
Because I hold the faith that I have been saved long before in the heart of Amitabha.
My mind is totally settled at peace and fully filled with gratitude and joy.
내가 이미 아미타불 의 가슴속으로 구원 받은지 오래라는 사실을 확신하기에 내 마음은 완전히 안심(安心)을 얻었으며, 감사함과 기쁨으로 충만 하다.
I am born now - that at the moment I step beyond my own understanding, and entrust to the power beyond myself, I am embraced, never to be forsaken in Amitabha's Infinite Light and Life.
나는 다시 태어난다 - 나의 (좁은)이해를 넘어서, 나를 초월해 있는 힘에 (온전히 내 자신을)맡길 때, 나는 아미타불의 무한한 빛과 생명 속으로 포옹되어져 다시는 분리 되지 않을 것이다.
My Pure Land is my own personal Pure Land, not anyone else's. You don't have to strive to convince the half-believers of the Pure Land. You don't have to concern for what others think of you.
나의 정토는 내 개인의 정토이지, 다른 어떤 사람의 것이 아니다. 그러므로 반신반의 하는 사람에게 정토를 확신시키려고 애쓸 필요가 없다. 더구나 다른 사람들이 너를 어떻게 생각하는지에 대해서 관심을 기울일 필요도 없다.
Just recollect "Namu Amitabha Buddha", which overflows naturally form your own certainty.
다만 너의 확신에서 자연스레 우러나오는 "나무 아미타불"을 잊지만 말라.
Mind settled completely in the Amitabha's grace is indestructible diamond-hard.
아미타불의 은혜로움에 완전히 안심된 마음은 파괴될 수 없는 금강심(金剛心)이다.
Entrust truly everything of you to the Buddha, and your ego, your karmic burden will dissolve in the limitless dimension of bliss and luminosity.
너의 전부를 부처님에게 진실로 맡긴다면, 너의 에고와 업의 짐이 해체되어 지복과 광명의 무한 차원 속으로 녹아 들리라.
You don't have to struggle for attaining enlightenment. Any effort based on desire for enlightenment is fruitless in vain. Through your practice, you may attain some level of samadhi and wisdom, and you may establish a view on emptiness, but it might delude you to believe you attain something, and you know something, and you become something.
깨달음을 얻기 위해 발버둥을 칠 필요가 없다. 깨닫고자 하는 욕심에 근거한 어떠한 수행도 무익하며, 헛된 일이다. 네가 수행함으로 어느 정도의 선정과 지혜를 얻으리라. 그리고 공((空性)에 대한 지견을 확립하리라. 그러나 그것이 네가 '어떤 것'을 성취하였으며, '어떤 것'을 알았으며,'그 무슨 특별한 존재'가 되었다고 믿게끔 잘못 인도할 수도 있다.
To be honest with the Buddha within, we should confess we know nothing, we attain nothing and we are Nothing. Then from the precipice of nothingness we confesse, walk one step further, let go everything of you. Totally surrender to the unlimited grace and power beyond this small and narrow "I".
"네 안에 계신 부처님"께 솔직해 진다면, 너는 다음과 같이 고백해야 하리라. "나는 아무 것도 알지 못하며, 아무 것도 성취한 게 없으며, 아무 것도 아닙니다." 우리가 이렇게 고백한 "아무 것도 아님" 의 벼랑 끝에서, 한 걸음 더 나아가 나의 모든 것을 놓아 버린다면, 이 '작고도 좁은 나'를 초월해 있는 무한한 은혜와 힘(그것은 '아미타 부처님'인데)에게 온전히 순복(順伏)하는 것이 되리라.
You are to be held in the unbounded space of bliss and peace, which is Pure Land.
Let go of you, entrust truly to Amitabha Buddha, you will be delivered in the Amrita-raja Tathagatha's Mandala.
그러면 지복과 평화의 무한 공간 속- 청정한 국토(정토,淨土)에 있게 되리라.
너 자신을 방하(放下, 놓아 버림)하고, 아미타 부처님께 진실로 일체를 맡긴다면, 너는 감로왕여래(甘露王如來, 아미타불의 밀교적 명호)의 만달라(즉, 아미타불의 정토인 극락세계)속으로 구원되어져 있으리라.
