to take care of us to watch over us to handle all the matters of our lives so

because we know that as we grow in faith and we're able to step out and say that's taken care of and now I'm going

to be the light of the world that he's called me to be and my life is going to be lived to glorify him I am not my own

he paid a high price for me he purchased me with his very blood and now I don't

going on it's the sweetest thing and then 7 through 12 they have I don't even

know how to describe it she's responsible for it it's like a Broadway show illustrating scripture illustrating

just know that there are some people who are sitting here today that you are gifted to work with children you know

how to talk to them they relate to you you have nieces and nephews or your own children or you're a teacher how many of

you are parents and or teachers okay so many of you and we have

a need right now for volunteers in the BT kids ministry all age groups from

Nursery all the way up to the elementary the 7 to 12 year olds the God's Own

program which is for children with special needs that is such an incredible program that allows children to come and

be ministered to in the way that they can understand the gospel we have such a need and I know that maybe many of you

you already work with children or you have your own children and I was thinking back to one of our volunteers

who was actually a principal in a school and when she applied I had to ask her I
58:40
said you work with kids nonstop during the week what made you apply to BT Kids
58:47
because you're basically signing on to work with more kids and she said you know I know that God has gifted me to

work with children and it just doesn't make any sense to me that I'm giving this gift to the world five days a week

and I can't even give it to the Lord one Sunday a month and it was such a a

convicting statement but it just made me think you're right we are his people

made for his glory and if we have a gift it's our responsibility to use it and to

pour into his kingdom whether that's the singers that have incredible gifts to sing God's praises the prayer bands any

Ministry but we have people I know that are in this audience today that you are gifted with children and all we want is

the opportunity to talk to you we have uh an opportunity for you to come and just observe a service see what it's

like ask the Lord is this for me and give him the opportunity to speak to you

and if he does we would welcome you to come just once a month to come and serve in BT Kids and I guarantee you that you

will get more out of it than you're giving into it if you really want to know God and Faith just spend time with

children right the Bible says that that if you want to if you want to enter the kingdom of God you have to become like a

little child and it's real clear when you start working with them why the Lord said that their faith the way they can

so one of the things, um, if it was asked to a lot of you who, I know, know your bibles
if someone said to you, 'tell me why did Jesus have to die on a cross

so a lot of you who know your Bible have listened to preaching for years or months
you would say oh I know why

and as they begin to pray they feel impressed

and they decide this is where we're going to be for Jesus

the food, they got to be careful what they eat

they have no contact with the village except for a young kid who comes out two three times a week

and brings them chickens or or eggs because they got to eat something

Spay, the mother of the boy, the little tiny lady Flood, she decides,

wait a minute, we're locked out of the village
let me talk to him and learn a language
let me teach him in English

since we're locked out of the village

so she does her best and as best as she can understand

well, the Ericson the other couple says,

well, the plot thickens

the little girl is left at the Mission Station
and some later who knew the situation

suspected poison but within a week both the Ericon die

the two missionaries they're gone so now the baby is totally out there

so there's an American missionary couple, who just happened to be serving in that mission station

and the people there said, please, would you please take this child

the father's in a huff in Sweden drinking himself to death, by the way
and then this Ericson, they died

so this missionary couple takes them and after a little while they raised the girl there
all she knows is Africa,

but when they go back to America all kinds of complications are risen

how are you taking her, how do you have her, you know,

so they're released and they go back to America with the child, with the little girl

so they named her Agnes and everyone knew her as agie

and in South Dakota where they settle
the people come to the church just to see this little child
this is the child born in Africa

well, she grows up has a godly mother and father
they're pastoring in South Dakota
and when she gets to graduate high school she goes to a Bible school in Minneapolis

and they marry and uh he's aware of her unusual background

and they start pastoring themselves in that part of the country

she doesn't know how and why she gets a Swedish magazine sent to her mailbox

she runs to get somebody who could uh interpreted for her

and she went, that's my mother

so the Swedish person who reads it for her says, oh no, let me read this, okay

so it's telling a story of a couple that went to Belgian Congo lived half a mile out outside the village in huts

and then they gave birth to a little girl

but before it was all over, Spay's prayer had been answered
because the young man she talked to had been converted

and he went into the village and he started witnessing to everyone

as he got older he had influence

so she and her husband go over to Sweden

she first met her half sisters, half brothers

his wife died and he's an alcoholic but functioning in a way and he's sick

they have churches now all over the place

because your wife, my mother, led him to the Lord before she died

and then goes back with her husband to America
and in less than three weeks he's dead

so then they are invited to speak at a big heavyweight missions conference in London

and they travel there and one of the speakers is the superintendent over
