숲에게
숲에 들어서면
나무들이 오랜 세월
뿌리 아래 묻어 두었던 침묵이
천천히
내 안으로 스며든다.
바람은 지나가고
새들은 제 노래를 부르지만
숲은
한마디 말도 하지 않는다.
그런데도 이상하게
마음속에 엉켜 있던 생각들은
제 무게를 잃고
가슴에 박혀 있던 아픔은
어디론가 흘러가 버린다.
숲은
위로를 건네지도 않고
괜찮다고 말하지도 않으며
내 등을 토닥여 주지도 않는다.
그저
제자리에서 묵묵히 서서
내가 얼마나 작은 존재인지
그리고 얼마나 많은 욕심과
두려움을 품고 살아왔는지
조용히 보여 준다.
그래서 숲을 다녀오는 날이면
나는 위로받기보다
조금 더 겸손해지고
조금 더 나 자신에게 솔직해진다.

When you enter the forest
The trees have been around for a long time
The silence that was buried under the roots
Slowly
It seeps into me.
The wind is gone
The birds sing my songs
The forest is
He doesn't say a word.
But strangely
The thoughts that were entangled in my mind
I lost my weight
The pain that stuck in my heart
It flows away somewhere.
The forest is
He didn't even comfort me
I don't even say it's okay
He doesn't even pat me on the back.
Just.
I'll stand silently in the same place
How small I am
And how much greed you have
I don't know if I've lived with fear
Show it quietly.
So when I go to the forest
Rather than being comforted
I'll be more humble
I become a little more honest with myself.
