What must we leave behind?(Exodus 14:10~13)

And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again.”(13)

Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #365 Open My Eyes, that I May See(#485 in previous version)

There are answers prepared separately for the children of God. Before we receive this answer, we must see the world through God's Word and see the flow in which the Word is fulfilled. The world is inside the flow of Genesis 3 in which people are centered on themselves, Genesis 6 in which people are centered on material wealth, and Genesis 11 in which people are centered on success. They are within the flow that has no choice but to be difficult. The age in which Moses lived was the same. That is why God put the Israelites before the Red Sea. It is because there is something we must leave behind.

1. Because there is something we must leave behind in Egypt

God led the Israelites before the Red Sea. The Israelites poured out words of unbelief as they looked at the situation that seemed like a crisis of death, but God had a different will. He did so to leave evidence that God is living before all the soldiers of Egypt. He made all the people who were planning on blocking the way of the Israelites hear this rumor and kneel before them, and the rulers of the land of Canaan melt in fear. In contrast, God changed the imprints of the Israelites by making them gain faith and revealing evidence to the leaders who assisted Moses.

2. Because we have something more important to leave behind

For the people of the covenant, even the wilderness is a blessing. On the path of the wilderness, God made the mystery of the three eternal feasts(Passover, Pentecost, Ingathering) into their nature and culture. By leading them to live their lives centered on the tabernacle, He imprinted Christ and explained the Ark of the Covenant. In other words, the Israelites received all the important answers in the wilderness. He led the Remnants who were raised during the 40 years in the wilderness to have the imprints, roots and nature of faith to conquer Canaan.

3. Because we have something to relay

We can remain within the flow of the covenant if we have a time in which we are happy in our everyday life(scheduled), time in which we enjoy answers(continuous), and time to enjoy power(concentrated). The descendants of the age of Moses also received guidance from God, parted the Jordan, and received training to follow the Ark of the Covenant even in front of Jericho. In the wilderness, God prepared the descendants who would conquer Canaan and receive unprecedented answers. At that time, the accurate Gospel and heavenly mandate, calling, and mission to enter Canaan were relayed.

[Prayer of the Evangelist] God! Bless me and my future decendants. Let me experience the mystery of the three feasts and the blessing of the Ark of the Covenant today. Give me new strength, and open my eyes to see the spiritual facts.

[Gospel Memory Verse] “And though a tenth remain in it, it will be burned again, like a terebinth or an oak, whose stump remains when it is felled.” The holy seed is its stump(Isaiah 6:13)
