Hello Jade,
there is a little letter telling more about my experience at Jeju. Did we telle you that we were interviewed at the Mulme farm by the KCTV. They were doing a reportage on WWoofing. You will found the link below.
Here is my comment:
Hello everyone,
My name is Emilie. In August 2009, I was travelling with my boyfriend (Jano) in South Korea and we decided to join our hand to a project on an organic farm. We had heard of woofing from friends who had already experience it. We looked on internet and we found wwoofkorea. We call, we went and, few days later we flew to Jeju Island.
It was a great experience. We had the chance to eat very local food like squid soup or bibimbap with squid!! Plus Macoli and Soju! We had great time with our host and his friends! We worked hard, but we also visited Hallasan mount and somes beaches! This is great reward!
I really much enjoy my stay there!
Emilie
Hello Jade,
I'm happy to provide a short feedback about my experience with Wwoof Korea.
Hello, future wwoofers,
I've had the opportunity to do wwoofing in Korea, more precisely on Jeju island in the Mulme Organic Tangerine farm, for two weeks.
It has been a very interesting experience as I could discover a bit of real life in Korea, not just the kind of stuff that tourists see. My host was very happy to receive me and he was very open to discussions
about everything, from organic agriculture to Jeju spiritual beliefs.
Obviously, farmwork is not so easy. At times I worked really hard but
at the end of the day I fell asleep with a sense of achievement from
all this great work. I could feel that the help I provided really made
a difference in helping the organic farm develop further.
Obviously, intercultural communication is not easy, and at times I felt that I did not understand what was happening and what my host actually wanted from me. However, being succeeding in overcoming this communication barrier was a great accomplishment, most of the times possible with patience and humour.
All in all, it was a physically and psychologically challenging
experience, but well worth the time and energy I spent there.
Hope you'll learn and enjoy as much as me!
