Dear Lex,

Sometimes the wisest thing we can do is to be lazy.

Especially for people who have many goals in life and constantly feel like they’re not doing enough. Thoughts like, “I should be creating more content,” or “I should be replying to more DMs.”

But then I end up doing nothing—and feeling guilty. Isn’t it ironic? We can waste an entire day feeling bad about wasting time.

Instead of getting trapped in that inner cyclone of self-criticism, I finally chose to let my brain feel useless and took a long nap.

When I woke up, I felt hungry. I told my parents to choose whatever food they wanted to eat, and I’d order it for them. They picked something quite expensive, hehe.

Then we had lunch together—good food, sitting at the dining table, having deep conversations about life.

It turns out, nothing is more important than family.

That made me remember one thing I’m most proud of ever doing in my life…

It was when my mother attended a seminar that went late into the night in Jakarta, but she didn’t have a place to stay. She ended up riding around in her friend’s car, not knowing where to go.

When I heard my mom calling me while sitting in the corner of her friend’s car, I immediately booked a five-star hotel in the center of Jakarta.

Back in the past, my father was a provincial-level politician. Whenever there were meetings in Jakarta, the council would usually stay at that hotel. It was very luxurious. The internet was fast, the view was beautiful, and the hallways smelled of rosemary leaves.

I still remember that rosemary scent—warm wood, sharp pine, and fresh green leaves.

Strangely enough… when people ask, “What’s your biggest achievement?” Calling myself the backbone of the family for four years feels more like a role. But if I have to name one specific moment, it might be that one.

Because after my father was no longer a politician and fell ill, booking that hotel felt like a dream. But I was able to do it. I don’t want to mention the exact number—let’s just say it cost about two Instagram endorsements.

Oh, Lex—do you remember the two koala dolls I showed you on your birthday? My one-year-old niece absolutely loves them.

She laughs the hardest when adults make the two talking koala dolls “talk” to each other.

Today I sent those two dolls to my niece, who’s currently being treated at the hospital. It’s nothing serious, so don’t worry, Lex. And she’s happy with the dolls.

By the way, today my intention was to be lazy…

But when I truly rested, I ended up remembering what really matters.

Warm regards,
Reyna
