Former President Barack Obama

dedicates his presidential museum Thursday

and helping him celebrate the opening 

are some big names: 

Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, John Legend

and Jennifer Hudson.

Former Presidents George W. Bush and 

Bill Clinton will also be there.

Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama

are expected to give remarks.

It’s an invitation-only celebration

that will be live-streamed

centered around the Obama Presidential Center,

in a nearly 20-acre campus on Chicago’s South Side.

The center opens to the public

Juneteenth : Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Liberation Day, Emancipation Day (TX)
is a holiday celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States. Originating in Galveston, Texas, it is now celebrated annually on the 19th of June throughout the United States, with varying official recognition. It is commemorated on the anniversary date of the June 19, 1865 announcement by Union Army general Gordon Granger, proclaiming freedom from slavery in Texas.
