In the shadow of Mark  Mount Japerson(Jefferson),

the tiny town of Madres is freezing bracing

for a monumenta l event.

Oregon will be the first point in the U.S.

to see the solar eclipse on August 21st.

In opto and up to one million tourists

are expected statewide.

Madres is a key destination.

Experts say that  high desert location

means almost no chance of clouds.

And the a flat lansket  landscape will make it easy to watch

as the moon castser a shadow on earth

for more than two minutes.

But with more than one hundred thoudsand people expected

in and around a town with a population

up to  sixty five hundred,

Logistics can be daunting.
