23andMe, the struggling genetic testing company,

filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Cofounder and CEO Ann Wojcicki resigning

but staying on the board.

The company says Sunday it will looked to sell

all of its assets

through a code court-approved reorganization plan.

Many users are concerns about personal data.

23andMe says its bankruptcy filing

won’t change the way of it stores or protects data

and says that

continuing to safeguard customer data

will be an important consideration

in any future sale.
