1972년 4월 13일 버몬트주 Rutland 에서 출생.
포스트 그런지 밴드 Staind 의 프론트맨 Aaron Lewis (Vocals) 는 1993년 Mike Mushok (Guitars) 와 New England 지역의 한 크리스마스 파티에서 만난다.
John Wysocki (Drums) 를 영입하여 팀을 정비하고 (U.S.A)동북지역 투어에 나선다. 1996년 자체제작 앨범 Tormented 를 발표한다. 1998년 2월 Flip Records 와 계약한다. 1993년 앨범 Dysfunction 을 발표하고 Kid Rock 과 함께 투어에 나선다. 이어 그들과 친구관계인 Limp Bizkit 과 섬머투어를 한다.
2001년 발표한 앨범 Break The Cycle 에서 It's Bee A While Fade . For You . Epiphany 가 빅 히트한다. 2003년 앨범 14 Shades Of Grey 를 발표한다. 2005년 앨범 Chapter V 를 발표한다. 2008년 앨범 illusion Of Progress 를 발표하여 빌보드 챠트에 3위로 데뷔한다. 2009년 앨범 Just Go 를 , 2011년 앨범 Staind 를 발표한다.
2011년 Aaron Lewis 는 솔로 컨트리 싱어에 도전하여 EP Town Line 을 발표하여 Country Boy 가 좋은 반응을 얻는다. 2012년 컨트리 정식 데뷔앨범 The Road 를 발표한다.
