[비온뒤]

Westlife(웨스트라이프)는 아일랜드출신의 5인조 보이밴드다. 보이밴드란 걸그룹과 대비되는 말로 남자로 구성된 꽃미남 그룹이다.

1998년 7월 결성 이후 본격활동을 시작한 1999년부터 20012년 해체할때까지 총 14곡이 UK 싱글차트 No1을, 25곡이  Top10을 기록했다.

4천4백만장의 앨범이 판매됐다.  영국 음악차트 역사상 7곡을 연속으로 No1에 랭크시킨 것은 엘비스 프레슬리, 비틀즈에 이은 세번째다.

하지만 이들처럼 데뷔 싱글부터 7곡을 연속으로 1위에 올린 것은 전무후무하다.

미국보다는 유럽과 아시아, 그리고 아프리카와 라틴 시장에서 큰 성공을 거뒀다. 2012년 6월 Farewell Tour를 마지막으로 해체했다.

히트곡은 My Love, soledad, Swear It Again, Fool Again,World of our own,Queen of my heart등 너무 많아 다 꼽기엔 지면이 모자란다. 

'I have a dream', 'Against all odds',  'Uptown girl' ,'You raise me up'등도 리메이크했다.

Soledad는 라틴풍 발라드로 2000년 발매된 2번째 앨범 'Coast To Coast'에 My Love와 함께 수록된 곡으로 UK 차트 정상을 차지했다.
