A single oxalic acid mite treatment will kill most mites if there is no capped brood.

옥살산 응애처치는 만약 뚜껑을 닫은 봉판이 전혀 없다면 거의 대부분의 응애를 죽일 것이다. (이 말은 옥살산 처리를 뚜껑이 닫힌 봉판이 모두 터져나올 때, 옥살산을 처리해야 응애를 거의 모두 제거하는 효과를 거둘 수 있다는 말이다.)

But the queen is still laying, repeat this treatment every 4~7 days through an entire bee development cycle. 25+ days is good.

I've been using oxalic acid for about 25 days with great success.

저는 약 25일 동안 옥살산을 사용해서 성공적으로 응애 제거를 하고 있다.

2,000 dead mites per hive at the start, to under 100 at the end of the period.

I bought the JB200 online and separately bought the parts for the cable that connects it to a 12V car battery.

The JB200 has female blade connectors that plug into the cable and battery. I separately bought 500g of oxalic acid crystals.

Note that I'm outside as well as lower and upwind from the unit to avoid fumes.

I believe that when the OA is in powder form, it will always be the same concentration. Use 1-3 grams per treatment depending on how many mites you want to kill. I chose 2g because the research shows it kills 95% of the mites and 3g was only a bit more.

Just google "JB200 oxalic Heilyser" You'll need to buy the cable parts locally, but Home Depot etc. all carry the parts I show in the video. Google "oxalic acid" and see if you can find a local chemical company that will sell to you, otherwise just order from a bee supply company.

I have another video on FA, which I used for several treatments and had no trouble. I switched to OA because it was such a hassle doing the FA treatments. The OA takes 2 minutes and I don't need to lift up all the boxes to get the FA sheet in the middle of the hive.

Hi Tony, I accidentally removed my response and I'll repost. I've been using formic acid for 25 days and you can see the decline in dead mites in the graph I posted in the video. I did the OA treatment after this and saw a much higher dead mite count so it definitely worked. I was getting about 100 dead mites a day with formic acid after 25 days, and I probably got 3-4 times that much with the OA treatment, so it worked a lot better in my opinion. It gets through the hive very thoroughly.

Doesn't repeated OA treatment damage the Queen? OA is extremely corrosive to Chitin which forms the exoskeleton of bees.

In Europe we tend to do one annual OA treatment when there is no brood (eg in December) so the only mites in the hive are those which are attached to bees. This treatment is usually in addition to other types which take place in spring and/or late summer (Apivar, Thymol etc.)
