본문에서 “주 예수 그리스도는 모든 위로의 하나님이며 자비의 아버지이며 우리의 하나님이시라. 모든 환난에서 우리를 위로하시며 우리가 하나님께 받은 위로로 모든 환난 중에 있는 자들을 위로하게 하심이라. 그리스도의 고난이 우리에게 넘친 것처럼 그리스도로 말미암은 위로도 우리에게 넘침이라. 우리가 환난을 당함은 너희의 위로와 구원을 위함이고 우리가 위로를 받음도 너희의 위로를 위함이니 그 위로가 너희 속에 역사하여 우리가 받은 고난을 너희도 견디게 하느니라(1:3-6)” 하였듯, 창조와 구원의 주와 성령으로 동행하며 가르치고 위로하며 힘과 능력을 주시는 예수 그리스도를 신뢰하며 맡기고 죽기까지 순종해야만 임마누엘 하나님의 은혜와 선물로 구원과 영생을 얻습니다.

We must trust in Jesus Christ, the Lord of Creation and Salvation, who walk with us through the Holy Spirit, teaching and comforting us and giving us strength and power. Wo must obey Him until death, entrusting ourselves to Him, then we shall be receiving salvation and eternal life through the grace and gift of God, Emmanuel, as “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comfort us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For jus as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounding through Christ. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation, if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same suffering we suffer. (1:3-6)”

그래서 “우리가 아시아에서 당한 환난을 너희가 모르기를 원하지 않노라 힘에 겹도록 심한 고난을 받아 살 소망이 끊어지고, 우리 자신이 사형 선고를 받은 줄 알았으나 우리가 자신을 의지하지 않고 오직 죽은 자를 다시 살리시는 하나님만 의지하게 하셨음이라. 그같이 큰 사망에서 우리를 건지신 그가 우리를 구원하실 것이며 그에게 소망을 둔 우리를 앞으로도 건지시리라. 너희도 우리를 위하여 간구하며 도우라 우리가 많은 사람의 기도로 얻은 은사로 많은 사람이 우리를 위하여 감사하게 하려 함이라. 우리가 세상에서 너희와 교제하며 세상의 지혜를 따르지 않고 하나님의 거룩하고 진실하신 은혜를 따라 행하였음을 우리 양심이 증거하는 것이 우리의 자랑이라(1:8-12)” 하였듯, 목숨을 맡기고 순종한 사도 바울의 경험과 고백으로 가르칩니다.

So, through the experience and confession of the apostle Paul, who entrusted his life to God and obeyed until death, we are taught today, as “We do not want you to uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt we have received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raised the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many. Now this is our boast. Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with integrity and godly sincerity. We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God’s grace. (1:8-12)”

그러므로 “하나님께서 많은 약속을 하셨어도 그리스도 안에서 모두다 “예”가 되므로 우리가 그리스도를 통하여 아멘 하며 하나님께 영광을 돌리게 되느니라. 하나님이 우리에게 기름을 부으시고 우리와 너희를 그리스도 안에 굳건히 세우셨으니, 우리에게 그의 것으로 인치시고 보증으로 우리 마음에 성령을 주셨음이라. 내가 목숨을 걸고 하나님을 불러 증거하시게 하나니 내가 다시 고린도에 가지 않은 것은 너희를 아낌이라. 너희가 믿음에 섰으므로 우리가 너희 믿음을 주관하려 하지 않고 너희 기쁨을 위하여 함께 일하려 함이라(1:20-24)” 하였듯, 임마누엘 하나님 성령께서 어디로 인도하시든지 따라가며 순종해야 승리하고 기쁨과 감사와 찬양이 넘칩니다.

Therefore, if we follow and obey the guidance of the Holy Spirit of God, Emmanuel, we will have a victorious faith and be filled with joy, gratitude and praises, as “For no matter, how many promises God has made, there are “Yes” in Christ. And so, through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. I call God as my witness, and I stake my life on it, that it was in order to spare you that I did not return to Corinth. Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, because it is by faith you stand firm. (1:20-24)”

그러므로 “내가 너희를 슬프게 한다면 내가 슬프게 한 자 밖에 누가 나를 기쁘게 하겠느냐, 너희 모두가 나의 기쁨에 동참할 줄 확신하므로 내가 갔을 때에 나를 기쁘게 할 자들로 말미암아 근심하지 않기 위하여 내가 이렇게 쓰는 것이라. 내가 마음에 크고 많은 근심과 걱정과 눈물로 편지를 쓴 것은 너희를 근심하게 하려는 것이 아니고 오직 너희를 향한 나의 넘치는 사랑을 너희에게 알리려 함이라. 만일 누가 근심하게 하였다면 나를 근심하게 한 것이 아니고 어느 정도 너희 모두를 근심하게 하였음이라 내가 너무 심하지 않게 말하는데, 많은 사람이 그를 처벌한 것으로 충분함이라(2:2-6)” 하였듯, 우리 모두 복음의 진리를 올바로 알지 못하는 연약한 믿음으로 실수한 사람도 진리로 일깨우며 사랑으로 포용하여 올바른 믿음으로 인도해야 됩니다.

Therefore, we must all awaken those who stumble due to weak faith and failure to properly understand the truth of the gospel with the truth, embrace them with love, and guide them to the right faith, as “For if I grieve you, who is left to make me glad but you whom I have grieved? I wrote as I did, so that what I come I would not be distressed by those who should have made me rejoice. I had confidence in all of you, that you would all share my joy. For I wrote you out of great distress and anguish of heart and with many tears, not to grieve you but to let you know the depth of my love for you. If anyone has caused grief, he has not so much grieved me as he has grieved all of you to some extent, not to put it to severely. The punishment inflicted on him by the majority is sufficient. (2:2-6)”

왜냐하면 “그가 너무 지나친 슬픔에 짓눌리지 않게 너희가 그를 용서하고 위로하라. 그를 향한 너희의 사랑을 다시 확증하여 주기를 권고하노라. 내가 너희에게 편지를 쓰는 것은 너희가 순종하는 믿음에 서있는지 알아보기 위함이라. 너희가 누구를 용서하면 나도 그를 용서하고 무슨 일이든지 내가 용서한 것은 너희를 위하여 그리스도 앞에서 용서함이라. 우리가 사탄의 흉계를 모르지 아니하므로 사탄이 우리를 속이지 못하게 하려 함이라(2:7-11)” 하셨듯, 남의 잘못과 죄를 용서하고 포용하는 사랑으로만 자신의 죄도 용서받고 구원을 얻는 심판의 법칙 때문입니다.

because, it is the law of judgement that only with true love that forgives and embraces the mistakes of others can one’s own sins be forgiven, as “Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. I urge you, therefore, reaffirm your love for him. Another reason I wrote you as to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything. Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven, if there was anything to forgive, I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes. (2:7-11)”

왜냐하면 임마누엘 하나님께서 공급하시는 진리와 사랑으로만, “우리를 항상 그리스도 안에서 이기게 하시며 우리를 통해 그리스도를 아는 지식의 향기를 곳곳에 퍼뜨리시는 하나님께 감사하노라. 우리는 구원 얻을 자들이나 멸망할 자들에게나 하나님 앞에서 그리스도의 향기라. 우리가 어떤 사람에게는 사망의 냄새가 되고 다른 사람에게는 생명의 냄새라 누가 그런 일을 할 수 있겠느냐, 우리는 많은 사람들과 달리 이익을 위하여 하나님의 말씀을 전하지 않고 하나님께서 보내신 자로써 하나님과 그리스도 앞에서 진실하게 말하노라(2:14-17)” 하였듯, 그리스도 생명의 향기를 전하며 죽어가는 영혼을 구원의 믿음으로 인도할 수 있기 때문입니다.

Because, only through the truth and love provided by the Holy Spirit of God, Emmanuel, can we properly convey the fragrance of Christ’s life and lead dying souls to salvation, as “Thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task? Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God. (2:14-17)”

성령을 따라 순종하는 겸손하고 올바른 믿음과 사랑으로만, “너희는 우리의 마음에 씌어진 편지니 잉크로 쓰지 않고 살아 계신 하나님의 영으로 돌판에 쓰지 않고 사람의 마음판에 쓴 그리스도의 편지가 되었음을 보여줌이라. 그것이 우리가 그리스도를 통해 하나님 앞에서 가진 확신이라. 우리의 모든 능력은 오직 하나님에게서 오므로 우리가 유능하여 스스로 그런 일을 했다는 것이 아니니라. 그가 우리를 새로운 언약의 일꾼으로서 문자로 하지 않고 영으로 하기에 충분하게 하셨으니 율법은 죽이고 영은 살리기 때문이라(3:3-6)” 하였듯, 사람들의 마음을 감동시키며 올바른 믿음으로 인도할 수 있기 때문입니다.

Because, only with humble and righteous faith that obeys the Holy Spirit can one move people’s hearts and lead them to righteous faith, as “You show that are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on the tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. Such confidence we have through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. (3:3-6)”

왜냐하면 “우리는 사라져갈 얼굴의 광채를 수건으로 가리고 이스라엘 자손들이 보지 못하게 한 모세처럼 아니하나, 그들의 마음이 둔하여 오늘까지도 구약을 읽을 때에 수건이 덮여 있고 벗어지지 않았으니 그리스도 안에서만 벗겨짐이라(3:13-14)” 하였듯, 성경 말씀을 사랑하며 읽고 묵상할지라도 아담으로 인해 마음에 덮인 육신의 원죄와 저주라는 수건이 벗겨지지 아니하면 진리를 깨닫지 못하고 임마누엘 은혜도 얻지 못하므로, “깨닫는 마음과 보는 눈과 듣는 귀는 오늘까지 너희에게 주지 아니하셨다(신29:4)” 하셨고, “내가 곧 길이요 진리요 생명이니 나로 말미암지 않고는 아버지께로 올 자가 없느니라(요14:6)” 가르치셨기 때문입니다.

Because, if the original sin and curse of the flesh that covered everyone’s heart because of Adam is not removed, no matter how much you love, lead, meditate on the Bible, you will not be able to understand the truth, as “We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. (3:13-14)” That’s why, the bible said it, as “To this day the Lord has not given you a mind that understands or eyes that see or ears that hear (Deuteronomy29:4)” And teaches it to us, as “I am the way and the truth and the life (John14:6)”

그러나 “오늘까지 모세의 글을 읽을 때에 그들의 마음이 수건으로 덮였으나, 누구든지 주께 돌아가면 수건이 벗겨지느니라. 주는 영이시고 주의 영이 계신 곳에는 자유가 있음이라. 우리가 주의 영으로 말미암아 수건을 벗은 얼굴로 주의 영광을 반사하며 주와 같이 영광스러운 모습으로 변화됨이라(3:15-18)” 하였듯, 자기를 버리고 하나님께 돌아가야 마음에 덮인 죄와 저주를 벗겨 주시고 깨닫아 알고 순종하게 하시므로, “내 영을 너희 속에 두어 너희로 내 율례를 행하게 하리니 너희가 내 규례를 지켜 행할지라(겔36:27)” 하셨으므로 성령을 의지하여 죽기까지 순종해야만 구원을 얻습니다. 성도 여러분 그처럼 올바른 믿음으로 구원을 얻고 부활하는 하나님의 자녀들이 되기를 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 간절히 축복하며 기도합니다. 아멘.

But, if anyone turns away from himself and returns to God, He takes away the sin and curse that covers his heart and allows him to believe, as “Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. (3:15-18)” And He makes us obey the Holy Spirit, as “I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws (Ezekiel36:27)” But, only those who obey until death will be saved. Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, I pray and earnestly bless you in the name of Christ Jesus, so that you may become children of God who obtain salvation and eternal life through the right faith that follows the Holy Spirit until death. Amen.
