성경말씀: 빌립보서 3~4장

Scripture Reading: Philippians 3~4

본문에서 “내가 너희 평안을 위하여 같은 말을 다시 쓰나니 주 안에서 기뻐하라. 자기 몸을 상하며 악행하는 개같은 자들을 조심하라. 자신의 육체를 신뢰하지 않고 하나님의 성령을 따라 예배하며 예수 그리스도 안에서 영광을 얻으려는 우리가 진정한 할례자라(3:1-3))” 하였듯, 하나님께서 인정하시지 않고 아무 쓸모도 없는 육신적 혈통과 할례를 내세우는 유대인들의 어리석은 사상에 속거나 물들지 말고, 성경 말씀을 사랑하며 숨겨진 진리를 간절히 구하고 찾는 마음에 새겨진 말씀들을 생각나게 하시는 성령의 진리를 올바로 분별하여 깨닫고 신뢰하는 마음에 임하시는 임마누엘 하나님 안에서 죽기까지 순종하는 믿음으로만 심판대에서 믿음을 인정받고 구원을 얻습니다.

Anyone, who do not be deceived by the foolish ideas of the Jews who emphasize fleshly bloodlines and circumcision, which are not recognized by God and are of no use. Instead, love the words in the Bible, earnestly seek and find the hidden truth, and correctly discern and understand the truth of the Holy Spirit who reminds you of the words engraved in your heart. Only by trusting in God Immanuel and obeying until death, you will be recognized by faith at the judgement seat and receive salvation, as “Further, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord. It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you. Watch out for those dogs, those evildoers, those mutilators of the flesh. For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh. (3:1-3)”

그러므로 “만일 누구든지 자신의 육체에 신뢰할 만한 것이 있다 생각하면 나는 그들보다 더욱 확신할 이유가 있으니, 나는 팔일만에 할례를 받은 이스라엘 족속이고 베냐민 지파이며 히브리인 중의 히브리인이고 율법으로는 바리새인이며, 율법의 의로는 흠이 없는 열정으로 교회를 핍박하였으나, 내게 유익하게 여기던 모든 것을 그리스도를 위하여 다 해롭게 여기며, 내 주 그리스도 예수를 아는 가장 고상한 지식과 그리스도를 얻으려고 모든 것을 쓰레기와 배설물로 여기고 내버렸음이라. 내가 율법에서 난 의가 아니고 오직 그리스도를 믿으므로 하나님께서 주시는 의로 그리스도 안에서 발견되려 함이라(3:4-9)” 하였듯, 우리 모두 사람들이 인정하고 자랑하는 것을 모두 버리고 오직 그리스도와 동행하며 순종하는 임마누엘의 사람이 돼야 합니다.

Therefore, we must all abandon everything that people boast about and acknowledge, and become Emmanuel people who walk only with and obey Christ, as “Though I myself have reason for such confidence. If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more, circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews, in regard to the law, a Pharisee, as for zeal, persecuting the church, as for righteousness based on the law, faultless. But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ, and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. (3:4-9)”

왜냐하면, “내가 그리스도와 그의 부활의 권능을 알려고 그의 고난에 참여하고 죽으심을 본받으며, 어찌 하든지 죽은 자 가운데서 부활을 얻으려 함이라. 내가 이미 얻었거나 온전히 이룬 것이 아니고 오직 내가 그리스도 예수께 붙잡힌 그것을 잡으려고 쫓아갈 뿐이라. 형제들아 아직까지 내가 붙잡은 줄로 여기지 않고 뒤에 있는 것은 잊어버리고 오직 앞에 있는 것을 잡으려고 애쓰며, 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님이 우리를 부르신 천국의 상을 받을 목표로 달려갈 뿐이라(3:10-14)” 하였듯, 올바른 믿음을 지키려고 고난의 길을 걸어가는 사람을 위로하고 힘을 주시지만 구원이나 영생을 보장하거나 허락하지 않고 죽음의 시험을 통과하는 믿음으로 확정하시기 때문입니다.

If anyone, who walk the path of suffering to maintain his right faith, God will comfort and strengthen you, but He will not grant or guarantee salvation or eternal life. Because for God will confirm‎ your faith by passing the test of death, as “I want to know Christ, yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the death. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do. Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. (3:10-14)”

그러므로 “누구든지 성숙한 믿음을 가진 사람들은 그렇게 생각해야 하리라 만일 너희가 다르게 생각한다면 하나님께서 분명하게 알려 주시리라. 오직 우리가 어디까지 이르렀든지 그대로 살아야 하리라. 형제들아 우리가 보여준 본을 따라 사는 사람들에 주의하며 다른 사람들과 함께 나를 본받으라(3:15-17)” 하였듯, 성령의 진리와 인도하며 사용하고 이루시는 임마누엘 은혜를 따라 죽기까지 순종하며 섬기는 사랑으로 믿음의 본을 보이고 실족하지 않게 조심해야 합니다.

Therefore, we must follow the truth of the Holy Spirit and the grace of God Emmanuel and show an example of faith by obeying and serving with love until death, and we must be careful not to stumble, as “All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained. Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do. (3:15-17)”

왜냐하면, 자유의지에 들어온 육신의 욕망으로 말미암아, “내가 전에도 여러 번 말하였고 이제도 눈물을 흘리며 말하지만 여러 사람들이 그리스도의 십자가의 원수로 행하느니라. 그들은 땅의 일을 생각하고 욕망을 신으로 섬기며 수치스러운 영광을 구하므로 영원한 멸망을 받으리라. 그러나 우리의 시민권은 하늘에 있으므로 하늘로부터 오실 구원자 주 예수 그리스도를 간절히 기다리노라. 만물을 복종시킬 수 있는 그의 능력으로 우리의 낮은 몸을 영광스러운 자기 몸과 같이 변화시키시리라(3:18-21)” 하였듯, 임마누엘 하나님의 은혜와 사랑과 능력을 받을수록 믿음을 지키기 더 어렵기 때문입니다.

Because, the desires of the flesh, which have entered into our free-will, become more difficult to maintain our faith as we receive the grace and love of God Emmanuel, as “For as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. (3:18-21)”

그러므로, “내가 사랑하고 사모하며 기쁨과 면류관인 나의 형제들아 사랑하는 나의 친구들아 주 안에 굳건히 서라. 유오디아와 순두게는 주 안에서 한 마음을 품기를 내가 간청하노라. 참으로 나의 충성스러운 동지들아 복음을 위하여 나와 함께 싸우고 이름이 생명책에 기록된 여인들과 글레멘드와 다른 모든 동역자들을 도우라. 주 안에서 항상 기뻐하라 내가 다시 말하는데 기뻐하라. 주께서 오실 때가 가까웠으니 너희의 온유함을 모든 사람에게 나타내라(4:1-5)” 하였듯, 우리 모두 서로서로 일깨우고 격려하며 돕고 협력하는 온유한 사랑의 사람이 되어야 합니다.

Therefore, we must all live a life of gentle love, awakening, encouraging, helping and cooperating with one another, as “My brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends. I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are in the book of life. Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again. Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. (4:1-5)”

그리고 “아무 것도 염려하지 말고 하나님께 감사하며 너희가 원하는 모든 일을 기도하고 간구하며 아뢰라. 그러면 모든 지각에 뛰어난 하나님의 평강이 그리스도 예수 안에서 너희 마음과 생각을 지키리라. 끝으로 형제들아 무엇이든지 참되고 고결하며 의롭고 순수하며 사랑스럽고 칭찬할 만하며, 특별히 갸륵한 것들을 생각하라. 너희가 내게 보고 듣고 배우며 받은 대로 실천하라 그러면 평강의 하나님이 너희와 함께 계시리라(4:6-9)” 하였듯, 우리의 믿음과 삶이 모두다 소망을 주시고 행할 의지와 능력을 주시며 사용하고 이루시는 임마누엘 하나님의 은혜임을 잊지 말고, 항상 기뻐하고 감사하며 죽기까지 순종해야 됩니다.

And we must not forget that our faith and life are all the grace of Immanuel God, who gives us hope, the will and ability to act, and uses and fulfills it. We must always be joyful, thankful, and obedient until death, as “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me, put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. (4:6-9)”

그러면, “항상 나를 염려하면서도 표현할 기회가 없었던 너희가 마침내 나를 위하여 마음을 쓴 것을 내가 주 안에서 매우 기뻐하노라. 나는 어떠한 형편이든지 자족하기를 배웠으므로 내가 궁핍하여 말하는 것이 아님이라. 나는 비천하거나 풍부하거나 배부르거나 배고프거나 풍족하거나 궁핍하거나 대처할 줄 아는 일체의 모든 비결을 배웠음이라. 내게 능력 주시는 자 안에서 내가 모든 것을 할 수 있으나, 너희가 내 환난에 동참한 것은 잘한 것이라(4:10-14)” 하였듯, 어떤 상황에서도 기쁨과 감사와 찬양이 끊이지 않고 아주 작은 도움에도 감사와 칭찬을 아끼지 아니하며 더욱 진실한 믿음으로 인도하게 됩니다.

Then, in any situation, you will be filled with joy, gratitude, and praise to God and even the smallest help will be generously given thanks and praise, and leading the people to a more genuine faith, as “I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to be have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Yet it was good of you to share in my troubles. (4:10-14)”

또한 “빌립보 사람들아 내가 마게도냐를 떠날 때에 주고받는 일에 참여한 교회가 복음을 처음 접한 너희 밖에 아무도 없었음을 너희가 알고, 심지어 내가 데살로니가에 있을 때에도 궁핍한 나에게 필요한 것을 너희가 여러 번 보냈음이라. 내가 선물을 구함이 아니고 오직 너희에게 돌아갈 풍성한 보상을 구함이라. 모든 것이 있고 풍부한 나에게 너희가 에바브로디도를 통해 보낸 선물을 받아 더 풍족하니 받으실 만한 향기로운 제물로 하나님을 기쁘시게 하였음이라. 나의 하나님이 그리스도 예수의 영광과 풍성함으로 너희에게 필요한 모든 것을 채우시리라(4:15-19)” 하였듯, 아낌없는 칭찬으로 격려하며 헌신하는 사랑으로 열매를 맺는 믿음으로 인도하며 구원에 이르게 됩니다. 사랑하는 성도 여러분, 육신이 죽고 그리스도의 심판대에서 우리의 믿음과 구원이 이루어짐을 잊지 말고 서로서로 위하여 기도하고 섬기는 사랑의 열매를 맺으며 죽기까지 순종하고 구원 얻기를 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 간절히 축복하며 기도합니다. 아멘.

We also encourage each other with generous praise and lead each other to a faith that bears fruit through dedicated love, and together we reach salvation in Christ Jesus, as “As you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only, for even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid more than once when I was in need. Not that I desire your gifts, what I desire is that more be credited to your account. I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gift you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. (4:15-19)” Dear saints, do not forget that our faith and salvation will be realized at the judgement seat of Christ after the death of our body. I pray earnestly in the name of Christ Jesus that you will bear the fruit of love by praying for and serving one another, and that you will be obedient until death and be saved all. Amen.
