성경말씀: 빌립보서 1~2장

Scripture Reading: Philippians 1~2

“너희 안에서 선한 일을 시작하신 하나님이 그리스도 예수께서 오시는 날까지 완전하게 이루실 것을 우리가 확신함이라. 너희가 항상 내 마음에 있고 내가 갇혔거나 복음을 변호하며 확증하거나 너희는 다 나와 함께 하나님의 은혜에 참여하였음이라. 내가 예수 그리스도와 같은 애정으로 너희를 얼마나 사랑하며 보고싶어 하는지 하나님이 증거하심이라. 내가 기도하는 것은 너희가 지식과 깊은 통찰력을 가진 사랑으로 더욱더 자라나고 넘치게 하시므로, 너희가 무엇이 가장 중요한지 분별하며 그리스도의 날까지 순수하고 흠 없는 삶을 살게 하시며, 예수 그리스도 안에서 의로운 구원의 열매를 많이 맺어 하나님께 영광과 찬송이 되게 하시기를 바램이라(1:6-11)” 하였듯, 하나님의 은혜에 감사하는 진실한 사랑으로 전도하며 구원의 열매를 맺으며 하나님께 영광을 돌려야 올바른 믿음입니다.

True faith is to be thankful for God’s grace, to bears the fruit of salvation and glorify to God, as “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. It is right for me to fill this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirm‎ing the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus. And this is my prayer that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. (1:6-11)”

그래서 “형제들아 내가 당한 일이 도리어 복음 전파에 도움이 되었음을 너희가 알기 원하노라. 내가 그리스도로 말미암아 사슬에 매인 것을 시위대와 모든 사람들이 알게 되었음이라. 나의 갇힘으로 용기를 얻은 형제들이 주 안에서 더욱 담대하게 하나님의 말씀을 전하였음이라. 어떤 사람들은 질투와 경쟁심으로 전하고 어떤 사람들은 선한 뜻으로 그리스도를 전파하니, 후자는 내가 복음을 변호하려고 여기에 왔음을 알고 사랑으로 전하나, 전자는 갇힌 나를 괴롭히려는 순수하지 못하고 이기적인 야심으로 그리스도를 전파하지만, 거짓된 동기에서나 진실한 마음으로나 전파되는 것은 그리스도이니 나는 기뻐하고 앞으로도 계속 기뻐하리라(1:12-18)” 하였듯, 고난조차 기뻐하며 복음을 전하는 사랑으로 생명의 열매를 맺는 믿음으로 우리를 인도하십니다.

So, God leads us to a faith that bears the fruit of life with love that rejoices even in suffering and spreads the gospel, as “Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually serve to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim that gospel without fear. It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. The former preaches Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. But what those it matters? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice. (1:12-18)”

왜냐하면, “너희의 간구와 예수 그리스도의 성령께서 도우시므로 나에게 일어난 일들이 나의 구원이 될 줄 앎이라. 나의 간절한 기대와 소망을 따라 무슨 일에도 부끄러움을 당하지 않고 내가 살든지 죽든지 오히려 이전과 같이 담대한 용기로 내 몸에서 그리스도만 존귀하게 되시기를 바라노라. 나에게 그리스도께서 사시지만 죽어야 얻게 되므로, 내가 무엇을 선택해야 할지 알지 못하나 내가 만일 육신으로 계속 살아간다면 열매 맺는 노고가 있으리라. 차라리 세상을 떠나 그리스도와 함께 있는 것이 훨씬 더 좋은 두가지 소망으로 내가 갈등하고 있으나, 내가 육신으로 머무는 것이 너희에게는 더 필요하므로, 내가 살아남아 너희 믿음의 진보와 기쁨을 위하여 너희와 함께 있을 것을 확신하노라(1:19-25)” 하였듯, 서로서로 위하여 기도하며 사랑해야 성령 안에서 하나가 되고 협력하며 생명의 열매를 맺게 하시는 임마누엘 섭리 때문입니다.

Because, it is the providence of God Immanuel who enables us to become one in the Holy Spirit, cooperate, and bear the fruit of life by praying for and loving one another, as “For I know that through you, prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance. I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know. I am torn between the two I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far, but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith. (1:19-25)”

그러므로 “오직 너희는 그리스도의 복음에 합당하게 생활하라 내가 너희에게 가서 보거나 떠나 있으며 소식을 듣거나 너희가 다 성령 안에 굳게 서서 복음과 믿음을 위하여 한 사람처럼 싸우는 것을 내가 알게 되리라. 핍박하는 원수들이 아무리 많아도 그들에게는 멸망의 표적이고 너희에게는 구원의 표적이므로 두려워하지 말라. 그리스도를 위하여 너희에게 믿음을 주셨을 뿐 아니라 그를 위하여 고난을 받을 은혜도 주셨음이라. 너희도 나와 똑같은 고난을 겪고 있으며 내가 지금까지도 겪고 있음을 들음이라(1:27-30) - 너희가 만일 그리스도와 연합하여 격려나 사랑의 위로나 성령의 교제나 긍휼이나 자비를 얻었으면, 다 같은 영과 마음과 목적과 사랑으로 서로 힘을 합하여 내 기쁨을 충만하게 하라. 다툼이나 허영심으로 하지 말고 겸손한 마음으로 남을 자신보다 낫게 여기라. 자신의 이익을 위하여 일하지 말고 다른 사람의 이익을 돌보라(2:1-4)” 하였듯, 우리 모두 성령의 진리와 사랑을 따라 순종하며 서로 돕는 그리스도인이 돼야 합니다.

Therefore, we must all become Christians who follow the truth and love of the Holy Spirit and help each other, as “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand form in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel, without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved, and that by God. For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him, since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have. (1:27-30) – If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like, minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves. Not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. (2:1-4)”

그런 복음의 진리를 말씀과 성령으로 가르쳐도 깨닫지 못하므로, “너희가 그리스도 예수와 같은 마음으로 행동하라. 그는 본래 하나님이셨으나 하나님의 권능을 포기하시고, 오히려 자신을 비워 종의 형체를 가진 사람이 되셨으며, 사람의 모양으로 나타나셨으므로 자기를 낮추시고 십자가에 죽기까지 복종하셨음이라. 그러므로 하나님이 그를 지극히 높이시고 모든 이름 위에 뛰어난 이름을 주셨으며, 하늘이나 땅이나 땅밑에 있는 모든 것들이 예수의 이름에 무릎을 꿇게 하셨으므로, 모두가 입을 모아 예수 그리스도는 주님이시라 시인하며 하나님 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하셨음이라(2:5-11)” 하였듯, 전능하신 하나님께서 사람 예수로 세상에 오셨고 십자가에 죽기까지 순종하는 겸손한 믿음의 본을 보여주며 가르치셨습니다.

Because, almost of the people did not understand the truth of the gospel even when taught through the Word and the Holy Spirit, so that Almighty God came to the earth as the man Jesus, and showed us an example of humble faith by obeying even to death on the cress and being resurrection, as “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus. Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage, rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross. Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (2:5-11)”

그러므로 “내가 사랑하는 자들아 내가 있을 때만 아니라 내가 없을지라도 항상 두렵고 떨리는 마음으로 더욱 복종하여 너희 구원을 이루라. 너희 안에서 역사하시는 하나님께서 너희에게 그의 기쁘신 뜻을 마음에 두고 순종할 능력을 주시므로, 모든 일을 원망이나 시비가 없게 하라. 이는 비뚤어지고 패역한 세대에서 너희가 정결하고 흠이 없는 하나님의 자녀가 되어 우주의 별처럼 빛나게 하려 함이라. 이는 너희가 생명의 말씀을 붙잡아 그리스도의 날에 나의 달음질과 수고가 헛되지 않았음을 자랑하게 하려 함이라. 내가 너희 믿음의 제사에 나를 전제로 드릴지라도 나는 기뻐하고 너희와 함께 기뻐하리라(2:12-17)” 하였듯, 우리 모두 임마누엘 은혜와 사랑에서 떨어질까 두려워하는 겸손한 믿음으로 죽기까지 순종하는 사랑의 종이 돼야 합니다.

Therefore, we must all become servants of love, obedient to death with humble faith, fearing to fall from the grace and love of Emmanuel, as “My dear friends, as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky, as you hold firmly top the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain. But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. (2:12-17)”

그러므로 “내가 너희의 소식을 듣고 기쁨을 얻으려고 주 안에서 디모데를 속히 너희에게 보내리라. 너희의 복된 삶을 진심으로 염려하는 자가 내게는 디모데 밖에 없음이라. 다른 사람들은 자기의 이익에만 관심을 두고 그리스도 예수의 일에는 관심이 없으나, 마치 아들이 아버지와 함께 복음을 전하듯 나와 함께 봉사한 디모데를 너희도 앎이라. 내 일이 어떻게 되는지 보고 가능하면 빨리 그를 보내리라(2:19-23)” 하였듯, 우리가 서로 멀리 떨어져 있더라도 성령 안에서 서로서로 위하여 기도하며 사랑하는 믿음을 지켜야 합니다.

Therefore, even though we are far apart, we must keep the faith and love for one another by praying for one another in the Holy Spirit, as “I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I receive news about you. I have no one else like him, who will show genuine concern for your welfare. For everyone looks out for their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. But you know that Timothy has proved himself, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel. I hope, therefore, to send him as soon as I see how things go with me. (2:19-23)”

그러므로 “나의 형제와 전우요 내게 필요한 것을 돌보라고 너희가 보낸 사자 에바브로디도를 너희에게 돌려보내는 것이 필요하다 생각하노라. 그가 병들었음을 너희가 듣고 심히 근심하는 줄 알고 너희를 간절히 보기 원함이라. 그가 병들어 거의 죽었으나 하나님이 그에게 긍휼을 베푸셨고 내게도 자비를 베푸셔서 근심을 면하게 하셨으니, 너희가 그를 다시 보며 기뻐하고 내 근심도 덜려고 내가 그를 보내기를 간절히 원함이라. 주 안에서 그를 큰 기쁨으로 영접하고 그와 같은 사람들을 존경하라. 그리스도의 일을 위하여 거의 죽을 뻔하였고 너희가 나에게 주지 못하는 도움을 보충하려고 자기 목숨을 걸었음이라(2:25-30)” 하였듯, 우리 모두 목숨 걸고 사랑하는 형제자매가 돼야 합니다. 사랑하는 성도 여러분 모두 사랑으로 섬기며 구원의 열매를 맺어 하나님께 영광을 돌리며 구원을 얻어 천국에 올라가 영생하기를 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 간절히 축복하며 기도합니다. 아멘.

And, we must all become true brothers and sisters who love each other with our lives at stake, as “But I think it is necessary to send back to you Epaphroditus, my brother, co-worker and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger, whom you sent to take care of my needs. For he longs for all of you and is distressed because you heard he was ill. Indeed, he was ill, and almost died. But God had mercy on him and not on him only but also on me, to spare me sorrow upon sorrow. Therefore, I am all the more eager to send him, so that when you see him again you may be glad and I may have less anxiety. So then, welcome him in the Lord with great joy, and honor people like him, because he almost died for the work of Christ. He risked his life to make up for the help you yourselves could not give me. (2:25-30)” Dear saints, I pray earnestly in the name of Jesus Christ that you may serve one another with love, bear much fruit of salvation, give glory to God, obtain salvation and enter heaven for eternal life. Amen.
