Lovely Obeys with Confidence in Power of Holy Spirit is Right Faith

성경말씀: 데살로니가 전서 1~3

Scripture Reading: 1Thessalonians 1~3

“우리가 너희로 말미암아 항상 하나님께 감사하며 기도할 때마다 너희를 생각하노라. 우리 주 예수 그리스도에 대한 소망으로 인내하며 일하는 사랑으로 믿음의 역사를 이루어 가는 너희를 우리 하나님 아버지 앞에 끊임없이 아뢰는데, 형제들아 하나님께서 너희를 택하시고 사랑하시는 줄 우리가 앎이라. 우리의 복음이 말로만 전해지지 않았고 성령의 능력과 큰 확신으로 전해졌으며 우리가 너희 가운데에서 어떻게 너희를 위하여 살았는지 너희가 앎이라(1:2-5)” 하였듯, 선택하여 부르시고 찾아와 가르치며 그리스도의 구원에 소망을 두고 믿게 하시는 성령 하나님의 신실하신 은혜와 사랑을 확신하며 서로서로 격려하며 위하여 기도하는 사랑이 올바른 믿음입니다.

The love that encourages and pray for one another, believing in the faithful grace, love, and power of the Holy Spirit who selects, calls, seeks, and teaches us, and makes us believe in the salvation of Christ, is the right faith, as “We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. (1:2-5)”

그런 진실한 사랑과 믿음으로만, “너희가 심한 고난을 당하면서도 성령이 주시는 기쁨으로 말씀을 받아 우리와 주를 본받았으므로, 너희가 마게도냐와 아가야에서 믿는 모든 사람들에게 본보기가 되었고, 주님의 말씀이 마게도냐와 아가야에 울려 퍼졌고 하나님을 향한 너희 믿음이 각 지방에도 전해졌으므로 우리가 더할 말이 없음이라. 그들이 스스로 우리에게 보고하기를 너희가 우리를 얼마나 환대하며 우상을 버리고 살아 계시고 참되신 하나님께 돌아와서 섬기는지, 하늘에서 강림하여 곧 다가올 진노에서 우리를 건지려고 죽음에서 다시 살리신 하나님의 아들 예수를 너희가 기다린다 말했음이라(1:6-10)” 하였듯, 고난에 굴복하지 않고 확신하며 전하는 복음의 신실한 증인이 됩니다.

Only which such true faith can we become faithful witnesses of the gospel, preaching it with conviction and without succumbing to hardship and persecution, as “You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. And so you become a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia. The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia, your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore, we do npt need to say anything about it, for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who rescues us from the coming wrath. (1:6-10)”

그래서, “형제들아 우리가 너희를 방문한 것이 헛되지 않았음을 너희도 아느니라. 우리가 먼저 빌립보에서 심한 고난과 능욕을 당하였으나 우리 하나님의 도움으로 강한 반대에도 불구하고 하나님의 복음을 담대하게 전하였음을 너희가 앎이라. 우리의 권면은 간사하거나 부정하거나 속임수도 아니라. 오히려 우리는 하나님께서 복음을 전할 사명을 맡기신 자로서 사람을 기쁘게 하려 하지 않았고 오직 우리 마음을 감찰하시는 하나님을 기쁘시게 하였음이라. 우리가 탈을 쓰고 탐심을 가리려고 누구에게 아첨하지 않았음을 너희가 알고 하나님도 증거하심이라(2:1-5)” 하였듯, 사도 바울도 결코 사람을 바라보지 않고, 하나님의 뜻대로만 가르치고 인도하며 사용하시는 성령을 따라 순종하며 충성하였다 고백하며 증거했습니다.

So, the apostle Paul also confessed and testified that he never looked at people, but obeyed and was faithful only to the Holy Spirit who taught, guided, and used according to God’s will, as “You know, brothers and sisters, that our visit to you was not without result. We had previously suffered and been treated outrageously in Philippi, as you know, but with the help of our God we dread to tell you his gospel in the face of strong opposition. For the appeal we make does not spring from error or impure motives, not are we trying to trick you. On the contrary, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts. You know we never used flattery, not did we put on a mask to cover up greed, God is our witness. (2:1-5)”

누구나 그런 믿음이 되면, “우리는 너희나 다른 사람에게 칭찬을 받으려 하지 않았고 우리가 그리스도의 사도로서 부담을 지울 수 있었으나, 마치 자녀를 보살피는 어머니처럼 너희를 온유하게 대하였으니, 우리가 너희에게 하나님의 복음만 아니라 우리의 목숨까지도 너희에게 주기를 기뻐하며 사랑하였음이라. 형제들아 우리가 너희에게 아무런 부담을 주지 않으려고 밤낮 일하면서 너희에게 하나님의 복음을 전하였음을 기억하리라. 우리가 너희 믿는 자들에게 얼마나 거룩하고 의롭고 흠 없이 행하였는지 하나님과 너희가 증인이라(2:6-10)” 하였듯, 사람에게 인정이나 칭찬을 들으려 하지 않고 성령 하나님의 은혜와 사랑을 따라 섬기는 진실한 사랑으로 복음을 전하며 믿음과 구원으로 인도하게 됩니다.

When anyone has such faith, they will not seek recognition or praise from others, but will serve with true love, following the grace and love of the Holy Spirit, and spread the gospel, leading to faith and salvation, as “We were not looking for praise from people, not from you or anyone else, even though as apostles of Christ we could have asserted our authority. Instead, we were like young children among you. Just as nursing mother cares for her children, so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well. Surely you remember, brothers and sisters, out toil and hardship, we worked night and day in order not to be a burden to anyone while we preached the gospel of God to you. You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed. (2:6-10)”

더 나아가 “우리가 너희 각 사람에게 아버지가 자녀에게 하듯 하였음을 너희가 아나니, 너희를 그의 나라와 영광으로 부르신 하나님께 합당하게 행하게 하려고 격려하고 위로하며 권고하였음이라. 우리가 전한 말씀을 너희가 사람의 말로 받지 않고 하나님의 진실한 말씀으로 받았고 그 말씀이 너희 안에서 역사하므로 우리가 하나님께 끊임없이 감사하노라. 형제들아 너희가 그리스도 예수 안에서 유대에 있는 하나님의 교회들을 본받은 자 되었으니 그들이 유대인들에게 고난을 받음과 같이 너희도 너희 동족에게서 동일한 고난을 받았음이라(2:11-14)” 하였듯 어떤 고난에도 기뻐하고 감사하며 복음의 진리를 받아들여 믿는 사람들을 진심으로 사랑하고 위로하며 격려하여 더욱더 진실하고 확고한 믿음으로 인도하게 됩니다.

Furthermore, He can sincerely love, comfort, and encourage those who believe in the gospel, rejoicing and being thankful despite any hardship, and he will lead others to a more sincere and confident faith, as “For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory. And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe. For you brothers and sisters, became imitators of God’s churches in Judea, which are in Christ Jesus. You suffered from your own people the same things those churches suffered from the Jews. (2:11-14)”

그러므로 “유대인들은 주 예수와 선지자들을 죽이고 우리를 쫓아내고 하나님을 기쁘시게 하지 않고 모든 사람의 대적이 된 자들이니, 우리가 이방인들이 구원을 받게 하려고 말하는 것도 가로막아 그들의 죄를 한도까지 채우므로 하나님의 진노가 이미 그들에게 임했느니라. 형제들아 우리가 몸은 잠시 너희를 떠났으나 마음은 아니므로 너희를 그리워하며 가보려고 온갖 노력을 다 하였느니라. 나 바울이 여러 번 그랬던 것처럼 우리가 너희에게 가려고 여러 번 시도하였으나 사탄이 우리를 막았음이라. 우리 주 예수께서 강림하실 때에 그의 앞에서 너희가 우리의 소망과 기쁨과 자랑스러운 면류관임이라. 너희는 참으로 우리의 영광과 기쁨임이라(2:15-20)” 하였듯, 성경 말씀에 겉으로 나타나는 의미에 속아 그릇된 선민사상에 사로잡혀 복음의 원수가 되지 않아야 하고, 예수 그리스도의 임마누엘 은혜로만 구원을 얻는 복음의 진리를 올바로 알고 확신하며 전하고 증거해야 됩니다.

Therefore, we must not be deceived by the superficial meaning of the Bible, caught up in the false idea of the chosen people, and become enemies of the gospel. We must correct5ly understand, believe, preach, and testify to the truth of the gospel that salvation is obtained only through the Immanuel grace of Jesus Christ with our humbly obeying faith, as “Who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and also drove us out. They displease God and are hostile to everyone, in their effort to keep us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved. In this way they always heap up their sins to the limit. The wrath of God has come upon them at last. But brothers and sisters, when we were orphaned by being separated from you for a short time (in person, not in thought), out of our intense longing we made every effort to see you. For we wanted to come to you, certainly I, Paul, did, again and again, but Satan blocked our way. For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you? Indeed, you are our glory and joy. (2:15-20)”

왜냐하면, “우리가 더이상 참을 수 없어 우리는 아덴에 머물기로 하고, 그리스도의 복음을 전하는 하나님의 일꾼 우리 형제 디모데를 보내어 너희를 격려하며 믿음을 굳건하게 세우므로, 아무도 시련을 두려워하지 않게 하려 함이니 우리가 그리스도 안에서 그런 시련을 받을 줄을 너희도 앎이라. 우리가 너희와 함께 있을 때에 장차 환난을 받으리라 미리 경고하였고 그대로 된 것을 너희도 앎이라(3:1-4)” 하였듯, 올바른 믿음의 길을 가려면 필연적으로 수많은 고난과 핍박을 받기 때문입니다.

Because, if you want to follow the right path of faith, you will inevitably face numerous hardships and persecutions, as “So, when we could stand it no longer, we thought it best to be left by ourselves in Athens. We sent Timothy, who is our brother and co-worker in God’s service in spreading the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you in your faith, so that no one would be unsettled by these trials. For you know quite well that we are destined for them. In fact, when we were with you, we kept telling you that we would be persecuted. And it turned out that way, as you well know. (3:1-4)”

그러나 “시험하는 자가 너희를 유혹하여 우리 수고를 헛되게 할까 하는 두려움을 참다 못하여 내가 너희 믿음을 알아보려고 디모데를 보냈으나, 지금은 디모데가 돌아와서 너희가 항상 우리를 생각하며 우리가 너희 보기를 간절히 원함과 같이 너희도 우리를 간절히 보기 원하는 너희 믿음과 사랑의 기쁜 소식을 우리에게 전하므로, 형제들아 우리가 모든 환난과 핍박 가운데서 너희 믿음으로 큰 위로를 받았음이라. 너희가 주 안에 굳게 섰으니 우리가 이제는 진실로 살았음이라. 너희로 말미암아 우리가 하나님 앞에서 누리는 큰 기쁨을 어떻게 하나님께 충분히 감사하며 돌려드리겠느냐(3:5-9)” 하였듯, 누구나 고난과 핍박을 이겨내면 더 큰 위로와 기쁨을 얻습니다.

But, who will be overcoming hardships and persecution, he will surely be rewarded with greater comforted and gladness by his Immanuel God, as “For this reason, when I could stand it no longer, I sent to find out about your faith. I was afraid that in some way the tempter had tempted you and that out labors might have been in vain. But, Timothy has just now come to us from you and has brought good news about your faith and love. He has told us that you always have pleasant memories of us and that you long to see us, just as we also long to see you. Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all out distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith. For now, we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord. How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you? (3:5-9)”

그러므로 “우리가 너희를 다시 만나 너희 믿음에 부족한 부분을 보충하여 줄 수 있기를 주야로 간절히 기도하노라. 우리 하나님 아버지와 주 예수께서 우리가 너희에게 속히 갈 수 있도록 길을 열어 주시기를 구하노라. 우리가 너희를 사랑한 것처럼 주께서 너희 서로가 사랑하며 모든 사람을 사랑하게 하여 주시고, 우리 주 예수께서 그의 거룩한 자들과 함께 오실 때에 하나님 우리 아버지 앞에서 너희가 굳건한 마음으로 거룩하고 흠이 없게 서게 하시기를 원하노라(3:10-13)” 하였듯, 우리 모두 서로서로 사랑하며 위하여 간구하고 격려하며 협력하는 사랑과 믿음과 생명의 공동체를 이뤄야 합니다. 사랑하는 성도 여러분 모두 그처럼 올바른 사랑과 믿음 죽기까지 변함없이 잘 지키고 구원과 영생 얻기를 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 간절히 축복하며 기도합니다. 아멘.

Therefore, we must all form a community of love, faith and life in Christ Jesus, with loving one another, praying one another, encouraging one another, and cooperating with one another, as “Night and day, we pray most earnestly that we may see you again and supply what is lacking in your faith. Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you. May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones. (3:10-13)” Dear saints, I pray earnestly in the name of Jesus Christ that you may keep the right love and faith until death and obtain salvation and eternal life all. Amen.
