Faith is Restored & Protected One’s Conscience of Image of God
성경말씀: 디모데 전서 1~3
Scripture Reading: 1Timothy 1~3
본문에서 “우리 구주 하나님과 우리의 소망이신 그리스도 예수의 명령으로 그리스도 예수의 사도 된 바울은, 믿음 안에서 진실한 아들이 된 디모데에게 하나님 아버지와 그리스도 예수 우리 주의 은혜와 긍휼과 평강이 있으리라. 내가 마게도냐로 가면서 너를 권유하여 에베소에 머물게 한 것은 어떤 사람들에게 거짓된 교훈을 가르치지 못하게 명령하고, 믿음 안에 있는 하나님의 경륜을 이루지 못하는 끝없는 논쟁을 부르는 신화와 족보에 몰두하지 못하게 하려 하였음이라. 청결한 마음과 선한 양심과 거짓이 없는 믿음에서 나오는 사랑을 위한 교훈이라(1:1-5)” 하였듯, 예수 그리스도를 믿고, 임마누엘 하나님의 은혜와 사랑 안에서 평안을 누리며 구원과 영생을 얻으려면, 청결하고 선한 마음을 지키는 파수꾼으로 주신 하나님의 형상, 양심과 사랑을 따라 지키며 순종하는 길 밖에 없습니다.
To believe in Jesus Christ and find peace in the grace and love of God Emmanuel, and to obtain salvation and eternal life, there is no other way than to follow and obey the image of God, the conscience and love, that He has given us guards to protect a pure and good heart and lives, as “Paul and apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope, To Timothy my true son in the faith. Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer, or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations work, which is by faith. The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. (1:1-5)”
그러나 “어떤 사람들이 그런 믿음에서 벗어나 어리석고 헛된 논쟁에 빠졌음이라. 그들이 율법의 선생이 되려 하지만 자신이 무엇을 확신하며 말하는지도 모르나, 하나님의 뜻대로 사용하면 율법이 선함을 우리가 앎이라. 율법은 옳은 사람을 위하여 만들지 않았고 범법자와 반역자와 경건하지 못하고 죄 많은 자들과 거룩하지 않고 망령되며 아버지와 어머니를 죽이는 살인자들을 위해 만드셨음을 우리가 알고, 음행자와 배교자와 노예상들과 거짓말쟁이와 위증자와 기타 올바른 교훈을 거역하는 자들을 위한 것이라(1:6-10)” 하였듯, 거의 모든 사람들이 자유의지에서 나오는 육신의 욕망이 얼마나 교묘하고 능력이 있는지 모르고 속아 실족하고 그릇된 믿음과 죄에 빠지고 심판을 받습니다.
But, almost of the people, not knowing how ingenious and powerful their fleshly desires that arise from their free-wills are, so they are deceived, stumble, and fall into false beliefs and sin, and are judged to destruction by God, as “Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk. They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm. We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexual immoral, for those practicing, homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers, and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine. (1:6-10)”
그러나, “그것은 복되신 하나님의 영광스러운 복음에 따른 것으로 내게 맡기셨음이라. 나를 충성스럽게 여기시고 직분을 맡기셨으며 나에게 능력을 주신 그리스도 예수 우리 주께 감사드립니다. 내가 본래 하나님을 모독하고 포악하게 박해하였으나 알지 못하고 믿음이 없는 행위였으므로 긍휼을 입었음이라. 우리 주께서 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 믿음과 사랑과 은혜를 내게 풍성하게 부으셨음이라. 그리스도 예수께서 죄인을 구원하시려고 세상에 임하셨다 하신 말씀이 진실하여 모든 사람이 믿을 만한 것은 내가 죄인 중에 괴수였음이라. 예수 그리스도께서 죄인 중에 괴수였던 내게 오래 참고 인내하시는 본보기로 삼아 누구든지 주를 믿으면 영생 얻는다 가르치려고 내게 긍휼을 베푸셨음이라. 영원하신 왕 죽지 않고 보이지 않고 홀로 하나이신 하나님께 존귀와 영광이 영원무궁하시리라(1:11-17)” 하였듯, 아무리 흉악한 죄인이라도 즉시 심판하지 않고 찾아와 가르치는 성령을 따라 순종하면 대속과 구원을 얻을 기회를 다시 주십니다.
However, God does not immediately judge even the most heinous sinners. Instead, if they repent and obey the Holy Spirit, who comes and teaches them, He gives them another chance to receive atonement and salvation in Christ, as “That confirms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me. I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. (1:11-17)”
그러나 우리가 성령의 은혜를 받을수록 육신의 자유의지로 말미암아 빗나가고 타락할 가능성도 증가하므로 “아들 디모데야 내가 전에 지도한 예언을 따라 선한 싸움을 싸우라고 이 교훈을 명하므로, 선한 양심과 믿음을 지켜라 어떤 사람들은 양심을 버리고 믿음에서 파선하였음이라. 그 중에 후메내오와 알렉산더가 있으니 내가 그들을 사탄에게 넘기고 신성모독을 하지 못하게 가르쳤음이라(1:18-20)” 하였듯, 선한 양심과 의로운 믿음을 지키려고 더욱더 노력해야 됩니다.
However, as we receive more grace from the Holy Spirit, the possibility of going astray and falling away due to the free-will of the flesh increase, so we must strive even harder to maintain a good conscience and righteous faith, as “Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well, holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith. Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme. (1:18-20)”
그러므로, “그 무엇보다 모든 사람을 위하여 하나님께 간구하고 중재하며 기도하고 감사하기를 내가 권고하니, 우리가 경건하고 거룩하며 고요하고 평안한 삶을 살 수 있도록 임금들과 높은 지위에 있는 모든 사람을 위하여 기도하라. 그것이 우리 구주 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 선한 일이라. 하나님은 모든 사람이 진리를 아는 지식과 구원에 이르기를 원하심이라. 하나님은 한 분이시고 하나님과 사람 사이에 중보도 단 한 사람 예수 그리스도라. 그가 적당한 때에 모든 사람을 위하여 자신을 대속물로 주시며 증거하셨음이라. 그것을 위하여 내가 전령과 사도로 세움을 받아 믿음과 진리 안에서 이방인의 선생이 되었으므로 진실을 말하고 거짓말하지 아니함이라(2:1-7)” 하였듯, 전지전능하신 하나님께서 예수 그리스도로 세상에 오셨고 십자가에 죽기까지 순종하여 부활하시며 가르치신 복음의 진리를 올바로 알고 따라 지키며 죽기까지 순종해야 됩니다.
Therefore, we must correctly understand and follow the truth of the gospel taught by the Almighty God who came to the world as Jesus Christ, obeyed until death on the cross, and was resurrected, and we must obey until death, as “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intersession and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings and all those in authority, that may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time. And for this purpose, I was appointed a herald and an apostle, I am telling the truth, I am not lying, and a true and faithful teacher of the Gentiles. (2:1-7)”
왜냐하면, 하나님의 진실한 뜻을 올바로 알지 못하면, “모든 곳에서 남자들이 분노와 다툼없이 하나님께 거룩한 손을 들고 기도하기를 바라노라. 여자들도 땋은 머리나 금이나 진주나 값진 옷으로 단장하지 말고 단정한 옷을 입고 소박한 정절로 자기를 단장하라. 오직 하나님을 경외하는 자에게 합당한 선행하기를 바라노라. 여자는 조용히 배우고 철저하게 순종하라. 여자가 가르치거나 남자 위에 권위를 갖는 것을 허락하지 아니하니 여자는 잠잠해야 함이라. 아담이 먼저 지음을 받았고 하와가 다음이며, 아담이 속지 않았고 여자가 속아 죄인이 되었음이라. 만일 여자들이 예의 바른 믿음과 사랑과 거룩함으로 자녀를 낳으면 구원을 얻으리라(2:8-15)” 하였듯, 말씀의 외면적 의미에 속아 그릇된 믿음에 빠지고 전하는 죄인이 되기 때문입니다.
Because, if you don’t know the true will of God correctly, you will be deceived by the outward meaning of the Word, and fall into a false belief, and become a sinner who spread it, as “I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing. I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God. A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man, she must be quiet. For, Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived and became a sinner. But women will be saved through childbearing, if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety. (2:8-15)”
그러므로 “누구든지 감독자가 되려는 마음을 먹으면 고귀한 임무를 사모한다는 말을 신뢰할 수 있으므로, 감독은 나무랄 것 없이 한 아내의 남편으로 절제하며 신중하고 단정하며 나그네를 잘 대접하고 잘 가르치며, 술을 즐기지 않고 포악하지 아니하며 오직 관용하고 다투지 아니하며 돈을 사랑하지 않고, 자기 집을 잘 다스리며 자녀들이 공손하게 순종해야 하리라. 자기 집을 다스리지 못하는 사람이 어찌 하나님의 교회를 돌보겠느냐, 새로 입교한 자도 말라 우쭐대다가 마귀와 같은 심판을 받을 수 있음이라. 마귀의 함정에 빠지거나 비방을 당하지 않도록 외부인에게 선한 증거를 얻은 자라야 하리라(3:1-7)” 하였듯, 우리 모두 항상 자신을 살피며 절제하고 다스리며 선하고 의로운 삶을 살아야 됩니다.
Therefore, we must all, always examine ourselves, practice self-control and discipline, and live good and righteous lives, as “Here is a trustworthy saying. Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a love of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church? He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgement as the devil. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap. (3:1-7)”
그러면, “집사의 직분을 잘 섬기면 그리스도 예수 안에서 훌륭한 지위를 얻고 믿음에 큰 확신을 얻음이라. 내가 속히 너에게 가기를 바라나 이것을 쓰는 것은, 만일 내가 지체하더라도 진리의 기둥과 터요 살아 계신 하나님의 집인 교회에서 네가 어떻게 처신해야 할지 알게 하려 함이라. 육신으로 나타나셨고 영으로 의롭다 하심을 받으셨으며 천사들에게 보이셨고 만국에 전해졌으며 세상에서 믿은 바 되시고 영광 가운데서 올라가신 그의 경건의 비밀은 의심할 여지가 없고 위대함이라(3:13-16)” 하였듯, 임마누엘 하나님 성령의 은혜와 사랑 안에서 그리스도의 대속과 구원을 확신하며 전하고 증거하는 실실하고 양심적인 복음의 증인이 되고 구원을 얻습니다. 성도 여러분, 모두 하나님의 형상으로 주신 양심과 복음의 진리를 철저하게 따라 지키는 선하고 의로운 믿음을 죽기까지 잘 지키고 구원과 영생에 이르기를 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 간절히 축복하며 기도합니다. 아멘.
Then, we will surely be in the grace and love of the Holy Spirit of God, Emmanuel, to become faithful and conscientious witness of the gospel, proclaiming and testifying to the redemption and salvation of Christ, and we obtain salvation, as “Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus. Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that, if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great. He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, w2as preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory. (3:13-16)” Dear saints, I pray earnestly in the name of Jesus Christ that you will thoroughly keep the good and righteous faith that God gave us in His image and the truth of the gospel, and that you will keep it until death and attain salvation and eternal life all. Amen.
