성전청결 인격회복 Cleansing Temple, Restoring Personality
예수께서 성전에 들어가사 성전 안에서 매매하는 모든 자를 내어 쫓으시며 돈 바꾸는 자들의 상과 비둘기 파는 자들의 의자를 둘러엎으시고 저희에게 이르시되 기록된바 내 집은 기도하는 집이라 일컬음을 받으리라 하였거늘 너희는 강도의 굴혈을 만드는도다 하시니라 소경과 저는 자들이 성전에서 예수께 나아오매 고쳐주시니 대제사장들과 서기관들이 예수의 하시는 이상한 일과 또 성전에서 소리질러 호산나 다윗의 자손이여 하는 아이들을 보고 분하여 예수께 말하되 저희의 하는 말을 듣느뇨 예수께서 가라사대 그렇다 어린 아기와 젖먹이들의 입에서 나오는 찬미를 온전케 하셨나이다 함을 너희가 읽어 본 일이 없느냐 하시고 그들을 떠나 성 밖으로 베다니에 가서 거기서 유하시니라 마태복음 21:12-17
And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves. And He said to them, "It is written, 'MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER'; but you are making it a ROBBERS' DEN." And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that He had done, and the children who were shouting in the temple, "Hosanna to the Son of David," they became indignant and said to Him, "Do You hear what these children are saying?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes; have you never read, 'OUT OF THE MOUTH OF INFANTS AND NURSING BABIES YOU HAVE PREPARED PRAISE FOR YOURSELF'?" And He left them and went out of the city to Bethany, and spent the night there. Matthew 21:12-17
우리가 성경을 읽는 것은 거기에서 하나님의 뜻을 찾기 위함입니다. 이러한 의미에서 성경 기록의 의도를 살피는 것은 지극히 당연합니다. 거기에는 시대를 초월하여 우리 각자에게 말씀하시는 하나님의 의중이 담겨 있기 때문입니다. 이것이 적용입니다. 오늘 말씀은 주께서 예루살렘, 특히 성전에 들어가신 장면을 기록하고 있습니다. 이것은 당연히 2000년 전에 발생한 역사적 사실을 기록하고 있지만 그 성전이 오늘 우리의 인격을 가리키고 거기 들어가심이 우리 인격에 내재하심을 나타내고 있음을 인식하는 것이 바로 그러한 적용입니다.
그러면 마땅히 주님이 성전에 들어가셔서 하신 작업을 우리에게 행하시는 회복의 역사로 인식하는 것도 어렵지 않게 받아들일 수 있습니다. 그리고 우리의 관심도 자연히 나의 인격에서 일어나는 현상으로 옮겨지게 됩니다. 주께서 임재하시면 내 안에서는 무슨 일이 일어날까? 그것은 회복입니다. 그런데 회복은 본래대로 되돌아가는 것이며 이런 작업은 우리의 생활 여기저기에서 경험할 수 있습니다. 수술이 그러하고 청소가 그러합니다.
본래대로 되돌리는 것은 없어야 할 것들을 구분해서 제거하는 작업으로부터 시작합니다. 그것들이 거기에 있는 것은 나름 이유와 변명을 갖고 있습니다. 집을 팔려고 사진을 찍게 한 적이 있습니다. 사진사가 요구하는 것은 부엌에 아무 것도 없게 해달라는 것이었습니다. 그런데 우리가 살면서 보는 장면은 많은 것들이 식탁과 키친탑에 나와 있는 것입니다. 왜냐하면 넣어도 또 꺼낼 것이라 생각하기 때문입니다.
상처로, 필요로, 또 어떤 이유로 우리는 없어도 되는 관계, 과거의 미련, 감정, 등을 정리하지 못한 채 살아갑니다. 회복은 이러한 것들을 발견하고 인식하고 제거하는 것으로 시작합니다. 나에게 그러한 일들이 진행되고 있는 것을 느끼십니까? 아마도 주께서 여러분 안에 내재하셔서 그 성전을 깨끗하게 하는 작업을 시작하셨기 때문일 것입니다. 주께서 시작하신 일은 결국 선하게 마치게 될 것입니다.
우리는 여기서 성전에 대한 두 가지 표현을 대합니다. 하나는 강도의 굴혈이고 다른 하나는 기도하는 집입니다. 강도는 남의 집에 들어가 물품을 탈취하고 때로는 주인을 해코지 하는 자입니다. 즉 강도는 남이지 주인이 아닙니다. 우리가 하나님의 성전 됨을 인식하게 되면 이 주인과 강도인 남을 구분할 수 있게 됩니다. 이것이 참된 신앙의 시작입니다. 주께서 하시는 사역은 이 주인의 자리를 찾는 것이며 그 역할을 회복하게 하는 것입니다.
이 성전, 즉 주인 된 자신의 역할이 바로 기도하는 것입니다. 기도는 혼자 하는 작업이 아닙니다. 대상, 즉 기도의 주체이신 하나님을 만나는 것입니다. 우리가 교회에 와서만 이 성전으로의 삶을 사는 것이 아닙니다. 우리의 살아가는 모든 현장과 나의 인격 자체가 하나님의 성전임을 알면 지금 나누는 이 회복의 사역은 우리 삶 전반에 걸쳐 진행되는 일임을 알게 됩니다. 그것은 하나님을 만나는 기도의 과정입니다.
주님은 당시의 성전을 청결케 하셔서 무엇을 더 이루려 하신 것이 아닙니다. 이 사건으로 통해서 역사를 초월하여 모든 하나님의 자녀들의 삶과 인격에 주님의 메시지를 보낸 것이고 그 작업을 지금 하고 계신 것입니다. 당시의 성전 상황이 그리 된 것에는 로마에 지배를 받고 있음도 그 이유에 포함됩니다. 또 주님을 다윗의 자손으로 칭하는 일들도 결국 로마의 법에 의해 십자가형을 받으시는 이유가 됩니다.
The reason we read the Bible is to find God's will there. In this sense, it is only natural to examine the intentions of the Bible record. Because it contains God's intentions that are timeless and speak to each of us. This is the application. Today's words record the Lord's entry into Jerusalem, especially the Temple. This naturally records the historical facts that occurred 2,000 years ago, but it is such an application to recognize that the temple refers to our personality today and that what goes into it represents our inherent character.
Then, it is not difficult to recognize the work the Lord has done to us as a history of recovery. And our attention naturally shifts to the phenomena that occur in my personality. What will happen to me if the Lord is present? It is recovery. Recovery, however, is a way back to where it was, and this kind of work can be experienced in many parts of our lives. Surgery and cleaning are like that.
It starts with the task of separating and removing things that shouldn't be going back to their original state. They are there for a reason and an excuse. I once had them take pictures to sell the house. All the photographer asked was to have nothing in the kitchen. But the scenes we see in life are many things on the table and kitchen top because I think we'll put it in and take it out again.
With wounds, needs, and for some reason, we live without organizing relationships, past regrets, emotions, etc. that we don't need. Recovery begins with discovering, recognizing, and removing these things. Do you feel those things going on for me? Perhaps it is because the Lord is embedded in you and has begun the work of cleaning the temple. What the Lord has begun will end up doing good.
Here, we discuss two expressions of the temple. One is the flexion of a robber and the other is a house of prayer. A robber is a person who enters another person's house, steals goods, and sometimes harms the owner. In other words, the robber is a man, not a master. When we recognize that we are the temple of God, we can distinguish between this master and the other, the robber. This is the beginning of true faith. The Lord's ministry is to find this master's place and to restore his role.
This temple, or the role of the master, is to pray. Prayer is not a work done alone. It is about meeting God, the subject of prayer. We do not live in this temple only when we come to church. If we know that all of our living fields and my personality itself are God's temple, we know that this service of recovery that we share now is a work throughout our lives. It is the process of praying to meet God.
The Lord did not attempt to accomplish anything more by purifying the temple at the time. Through this incident, he sent a message of the Lord to the lives and personalities of all God's children, transcending history, and he is now working on it. The situation of the temple at the time is due to the rule of Rome. The eventually crucified by Roman law is the reason the Lord is referred to as a descendant of David.
