천성경 (증) - 400. 평화의 개념

1 지금 이 세계에서 제일 긴박한 과제가 뭐냐? 세계 전쟁은 하다가 끝납니다. 나라 간의 싸움도 끝날에 가서는 끝나지만, 영원히 계속되는 전쟁은 몸과 마음의 싸움입니다. 마음을 중심삼고 몸을 완전히 정복하게 되는 거기에 평화의 기준이 있습니다. 어머니 아버지가 영원히 하나되고, 부부가 영원히 하나되고, 부자가 영원히 하나되고, 일족이 영원히 하나되는 평화의 기지가 벌어지는 것입니다. 그 평화의 기지가 개인을 넘고 종족을 넘고 민족을 넘고 인종을 넘어 세계 끝까지 돼 있어야 세계평화가 이루어집니다. 그렇기 때문에 인간개조 혁명이 필요합니다.

평화의 참뜻
2 평화를 이룬다는 것은 주체와 대상이 서로 하나됨을 말합니다. 한문의 평(平)은 영어로는 호리존털(horizontal)이고, 화(和)는 하모니(harmony)라는 말입니다. 그것은 중심과 상대가 상충이 벌어지는 것이 아니라 화하여 들어가는 것입니다.

3 역사 이래 인류는 평화를 염원하여 왔으나 이 땅에는 여전히 전쟁이 존속하고 있습니다. 불행하게도 강대국이나 권력자들은 평화란 말을 종종 오용해 왔습니다. 그들은 평화를 운운하면서도 실제로는 사람들을 평화가 아닌 것으로 괴롭혀 왔습니다. 특히 공산주의자들은 도발을 일삼으면서 평화란 말을 입버릇처럼 써 왔습니다. 이렇게 평화라는 말은 불의를 실현하는 수단으로 많이 이용되어 왔습니다. 진정한 평화는 지식이나 부, 그리고 사회적 위치나 정치적 권력과 같은 외적 조건에 달려 있지 않습니다. 세상에서는 세계적 관심사를 공평하게 판단할 절대적 기준이 없으므로, 변화하는 세계 속에서 상충되는 이해관계에 얽혀 진정한 평화 유지는 불가능한 것입니다. 참평화는 오로지 참사랑의 기반 위에 세워질 수 있으며, 사랑의 관계는 인류를 함께 묶는 신(神)을 중심한 절대가치를 이해할 때만 체험할 수 있습니다.

4 화평이나 평화란 오랜 역사기간을 두고 세계가 지금까지 모든 수단 방법을 다 동원하여 온갖 노력을 기울여 왔지만, 어느 한 국가의 정치력이나 경제력, 군사력만을 가지고는 완전히 해결될 수 있는 문제가 아니었습니다. 문제는 가장 가까운 가정에서부터 종족·민족·국가, 그리고 세계를 넘어 천주까지를 포함하여 통용될 수 있는 근본적인 진리, 즉 평화의 사상이 있지 않으면 안 됩니다.

5 평화라는 것은 구김살 하나 없는 평평한 상태를 말합니다. 모두 평평한 것으로 화해진다는 말입니다. 백 퍼센트 화하다 보면 원형이 됩니다. 흙을 섞어서 자꾸 굴려가다 보면 둥글게 됩니다. 뺑뺑하게 펼쳐져서 화하니까 결국은 최고의 원형이 이루어집니다. 구김살이 없고, 어느 무엇이든지 꽉 차지 않은 것이 없고, 완전히 충만하게 원형을 이루는 것입니다.

6 하나님은 절대자이시고 한 분입니다. 그 한 분이 완성의 기준을 자기 자신에게 두었겠습니까? 그랬다가는 큰일 납니다. 기쁨과 행복이라는 말은 혼자를 두고 말하는 것이 아닙니다. 행복도 상대적 관계를 두고 말하는 것입니다. 어머니와 자식 간에 둘이 하나가 되는 데에 행복이 있는 것입니다. 평화라는 말 자체, 평평히 화한다는 것은 벌써 상대성을 안고 들어가는 것입니다. 평화나 행복이라는 말은 독자적인 입장을 두고 하는 말이 아니라 상대권과의 관계를 두고 하는 말입니다.

7 평화는 상대적인 말입니다. 둘이 화(和)해서 평(平)이 되는 것이지, 독평(獨平)이 아닙니다. 상대와 동등한 자리에서 서로 좋아해야 행복하다는 것입니다. 자유니 무엇이니 해도 사랑을 빼놓고는 자유가 없습니다. 사랑이야말로 그것은 무한정의 자유입니다. 사랑을 가지고 채찍질을 하는 독재자가 되더라도 그것은 자랑스러운 것입니다.

8 평화는 수평이 돼서 화하는 것을 말합니다. 평화는 혼자 이룰 수 없습니다. 이것은 상하관계 좌우관계 등 전부가 화해서 기쁠 수 있고, 모든 것이 기울어지지 않고 원만해야 됩니다. 그래야만 평화라는 것입니다.

1 今、この世界における最も緊迫した課題とは何でしょうか。世界戦争は始まっても終わります。国家間の争いも終わりの日になれば終わるのですが、永遠に 続く戦争は、心と体の闘いです。心を中心として体を完全に征服する、そこに平和の基準があるのです。父母が永遠に一つになり、夫婦が永遠に一つになり、父 子が永遠に一つになり、一族が永遠に一つになる平和の基地ができるのです。その平和の基地が個人を越え、氏族を越え、民族を越え、人種を越えて、世界の果 てまでできてこそ、世界平和が実現されるのです。ですから、人間改造革命が必要なのです。

平和の正しい意味
2　平和を成し遂げるというのは、主体と対象が互いに一つになることをいいます。「平」の字は英語ではホリゾンタル(Horizontal)であり、 「和」の字はハーモニー(Harmony)という言葉です。それは中心と相対が相反するのではなく、和合していくことなのです。

3　歴史始まって以来、人類は、平和を念願してきましたが、この地には、依然として戦争が存続しています。不幸にも、強大国や権力者たちは、時として「平 和」という言葉を誤用してきました。彼らは、平和を語りながらも、実際には、人々を平和でないものによって苦しめてきました。特に共産主義者たちは、挑発 しながらも、「平和」という言葉を口癖のように使ってきました。
このように、「平和」という言葉は、不義を実現する手段として何度も利用されてきたのです。真の平和は、知識や富、そして社会的地位や政治的権力のような 外的な条件にかかっているのではありません。世の中では、世界的関心事を公平に判断する絶対的基準がないので、変化する世界の中で衝突する利害関係に縛ら れ、真の平和の維持が不可能なのです。真の平和は、真の愛の基盤の上にのみ立てられるのであり、愛の関係は、人類を一つに結ぶ神様を中心とした絶対価値を 理解するときにこそ、体験することができるのです。

4　和平や平和というものは、今まで長い歴史の期間を通して、全世界があらゆる手段、方法を動員し、ありとあらゆる努力を注いできましたが、ある一国家の 政治力や経済力、軍事力だけでは、完全に解決できる問題ではありませんでした。問題は、最も近い家庭から氏族、民族、国家、そして世界を越えて天宙までも 含めて通用する根本的な真理、すなわち平和の思想がなければならないのです。

5　平和というものは、どこにおいても、しわ一つない平らな状態のことをいいます。すべて平らなものとして和合するということです。一〇〇パーセント和合 すれば、円形になります。土をこねて転がし続けていけば、丸くなります。ぱんぱんに張って丸くなるので、結局は最高の円形が作られるのです。しわがなく、 何であろうといっぱいに満ちていないものがなく、完全に充満して円形を作るのです。

6　神様は、絶対者であられ、唯一の方です。その唯一の方は、完成の基準を自分お一人におかれたのでしょうか。そのようにしたとすれば、大変なことになる のです。
 喜びと幸福というものは、一人を対象として語る言葉ではありません。幸福も、相対的関係を対象として語る言葉です。母と子の間において、二人が一つになる ところに幸福があるのです。「平和」という文字自体が、平らに和合するということであり、既に相対性を含んでいるのです。
 「平和」や「幸福」という言葉は、独自的な立場を対象として語る言葉ではなく、相対圏との関係を対象として語る言葉なのです。

7　「平和」とは、相対的な言葉です。二つは和合することによって平らになるのであって、「独平」ではありません。相手と同等の立場において、お互いに好 意をもってこそ幸福だというのです。「自由だ」と言っても、愛を除いて自由がありますか。愛があってこそ無限の自由があります。そして、愛をもってむち打 つ独裁者のような人になったとしても、それは誇らしいことなのです。

8　平和は、水平になって和合することをいいます。平和は、独りで成し遂げることができません。これは、上下関係、左右関係など、すべてが和合して喜ぶこ とができ、すべてのものが片寄らないで円満でなければなりません。そうしてこそ、平和だというのです。

1 What is the most critical issue in the World now? World wars begin and end. Wars between nations end when the fighting stops, but the war between the mind and body is unceasing. The standard of peace can be found where we Succeed in conquering the body by following the desires of the mind. The foundation for peace develops where the mother and father, husband and wife, parents and children and the whole extended family become eternally one. For World peace to be realized, this foundation must go beyond individuals, clans, peoples and races to the ends of the earth. To achieve this, we need a revolution to re-create human beings. The true meaning of peace
2 The realization of peace means that the subject and object partners are United. The first syllable, pyeong (^p), of the Korean word for peace, pyeonghwa (2pft), means horizontal in English, and the second syllable, hwa (ft), means harmony. This signifies that the central being and its counterpart are not in conflict, but move toward each other and come into harmony. (082-132, 1976.01.04)

3 Humanity has desired peace since the beginning of history, but wars have continued without ceasing. Unfortunately, strong nations and powerful people have misused the word peace. Even while they spoke of peace, in practice they tormented people in ways that were the opposite of peace. The communists in particular would use peace as one of their favorite catchwords even as they habitually provoked others. In this way, the word peace has been used many times to camouflage injustice. As conditions in the world change, people become entangled in interests that conflict with those of others, making it impossible to establish true peace. In this world, there is no absolute standard by which worldly interests can be fairly eval‎‎uated. True peace can be established only on the basis of true love, and true love relationships can be experienced only when people understand the God- centered absolute values that bind human beings together. True peace is not dependent on knowledge, wealth, social position, political power or any other external condition. (130-011, 1983.12.18)

4 Throughout the long course of history to this day, the world has employed every possible method to realize peace and harmony. Yet this has not been an issue that the political, economic or military power of any single nation has been able to resolve completely. There needs to be a fundamental truth, in other words, a philosophy of peace, which can be recognized not only by those in the family, who are closest to the issue, but also by those in the clan, people, nation and world, and even in the realm that transcends this world. 5 Peace refers to an even state where there are no wrinkles. It means everything has been harmonized, so it is smooth. When everything is completely harmonized, the result is a spherical shape. If you take clay and keep rolling it, it becomes rounded and in the end a perfect sphere is made. It has no wrinkles, every bit of it is completely smooth, and it takes on an absolutely spherical form. (109-277, 1980.11.02)

6 God is an absolute being and also is unique. Do you think this unique being set the standard of perfection for Himself alone? If He had, it would be a big problem! Someone who is in a void, alone, cannot use the words joy and happiness. Happiness arises from a mutual relationship. A mother is happy when she and her children are one. The very nature of the word peace, which means harmonizing into an even state, includes the idea of a counterpart, or other. The words peace and happiness refer not to someone who is alone, but to someone who is in a relationship. (136-104, 1985.12.22)

7 Peace has to do with relationships. An even state can be realized only when two people harmonize with each other. An individual alone cannot realize it. Two people can be happy when they are on an equal footing that pleases them both. When we speak of freedom, we realize there is no freedom without love. Love itself is boundless freedom. If you rule with love, you can be proud of being absolute about it. (112-316, 1981.04.25)

8 Peace refers to harmonizing in an even state. You cannot bring about peace alone. When people are harmonized with all the people in their lives— whether the relationships are up and down, right and left or otherwise, and when nothing is crooked—joy ensues and everything is amicable. This is the only road to peace. (86-098, 1976.03.14)
