참부모경 - 336. 유니버설발레단 창단

참부모님께서는 문화예술을 통한 이상적 평화세계인 심정문화세계의 구현이라는 취지로 1984년 5월 12일 유니버설발레단을 창단하셨다. ‘예천미지(藝天美地), 천상의 예술로 세상을 아름답게’를 비전으로 창단된 유니버설발레단은 한국 최초의 민간 직업 발레단이다. 제1회 공연인 ‘신데렐라’를 필두로 세계 17개국을 포함한 국내외에서 1천800여 회의 공연을 선보이며 아시아의 대표적인 발레단으로 성장하였다.
 
1 발레는 서양무용인데 서양은 기독교문화권입니다. 기독교문화권은 신부문화권입니다. 주님을 신랑 삼아서 가정과 나라에 정착하기를 바라 나온 것입니다. 신부가 바라는 것은 신랑인데, 신랑 신부가 만나서 역사적인 한, 하나님의 한을 풀고 해방된 춤을 춤으로써 천지를 진동시키겠다는 결의에 찬 여러분이 되기를 바라는 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 이름도 ‘유니버설’이라고 지었습니다.
 
2 발레 하면 서구사회, 기독교문화권에서는 최고의 예술로 생각하는 것입니다. 이것이 러시아에서 최고로 자리 잡게 되었습니다. 아버님이 1984년에 유니버설발레단을 만들어 세계 정상을 향하여 단련시키고 준비해 왔습니다. 그래서 리틀엔젤스예술단을 동양문화를 중심삼고, 유니버설발레단은 서양문화를 중심삼고 예술세계의 정상을 밟게 되었습니다. 이와 같은 놀라운 사실은 역사를 두고 찬양할 일입니다. 새로운 문화세계의 창조에 빛날 수 있는 하나의 초석을 놓았다는 것입니다.
 
3 아버님에게는 보이지 않는 힘이 있습니다. 그래서 예술분야에서 유니버설발레단을 만든 것입니다. 서양세계가 아무리 발레 문화를 자랑해도 지금 아버님이 그 선두에 서 있습니다. 서양세계 사람들이 자기 문화를 갖고 자랑하지만 더 크게 발전할 수 있는 희망적인 내용이 있느냐 할 때 없다는 것입니다. 서양세계의 발레는 점점 내려가는 것입니다. 영적인 개념이 없습니다. 개인주의적 경향으로 변하기 때문에 통일이 없고 전통적인 발레의 정신이 사라진 것입니다. 그것을 아버님이 알고 앞장선 것입니다. 인종이 다르고, 종교와 습관이 다르고, 국가가 다르지만 그런 것을 다 뛰어넘어 한자리에 모으는 것입니다. 전통을 세우는 것입니다. 1984년 창단 이후 14년이 지나 그것이 사실로 증명되니까 서양 세계가 따라오는 것입니다. 영적인 면에서나 문화적인 면에서나 최고의 자리에 올라와 있다는 것입니다.
 
4 아버님은 세계로 출발할 때 절대 의심을 안 했습니다. 한마음이었습니다. 별의별 사람이 다 왔다 가고, 별의별 일이 다 있었습니다. 그렇지만 한 목적을 향해 달려왔습니다. 그래서 여러분이 앞으로 갈 수 있는 모든 것을 준비했습니다. 세계 선진국가군에 들어갈 수 있는 만반의 준비를 다 했다는 것입니다. 유니버설발레단만 해도 그렇습니다. 그 내용이 얼마나 감동적인지 모릅니다. 얼마나 감동적이면 뉴욕타임스에서 세 번이나 전면에 걸쳐 소개해 주었겠습니까? 그런 역사가 없습니다. 여기에서 비약하여 톱건(Top Gun)이 되었습니다.
 
5 아버님이 춤추고 노래하는 리틀엔젤스예술단과 유니버설발레단을 만들었습니다. 서양에서나 동양에서나 웃으면서 노래하고 웃으면서 춤출 수 있는 최고의 예술단체를 가지고 있습니다. 그렇게 되기 위해서는 몇 번이고 계속해서 반복적으로 연습해야 됩니다. 수백 번, 수천 번 같은 동작을 끊임없이 반복하고 연습하는 사람이 챔피언이 되는 것입니다. 자유세계나 미국은 개인주의의 왕국이 되었기 때문에 전통적인 발레의 정신은 사라지고 없다고 보았습니다. 그렇지만 유니버설발레단은 종적인 전통을 중시하고 힘든 과정을 거쳐 나왔기 때문에 넘버원 자리에 올랐습니다. 그렇다고 교만하라는 것이 아닙니다. 이제부터 시작입니다. 실제세계가 여러분을 기다리고 있습니다. 그래서 최고가 되기 위해서 끊임없이 반복하고 훈련해야 됩니다. 그러면 나중에는 놀라운 기반을 갖추게 된다는 것입니다. 무용도 문화적 배경과 정신의 결과물입니다. 그것이 예술세계입니다. 우리는 동양 예술과 서양 예술을 점령하는 것입니다. 동양 예술을 대표한 것이 리틀엔젤스이고, 서양 예술을 대표한 것이 유니버설발레단입니다.
 
6 여러분은 유니버설발레단에 희망을 가져야 할 것입니다. 서구사회의 고위층 부인들은 발레에 대해 평가할 수 있는 실력이 없으면 상류사회의 여성으로서 위신이 서지 않습니다. 그 수준에 맞추게 되면 러시아로부터 이 서구사회 전체, 미국뿐만 아니라 남미 전체의 여성들을 하나로 묶을 수 있습니다. 그렇게 되면 최고의 여성들을 묶을 수 있는 방대한 조직이 됩니다. 세계평화여성연합을 통해 한국에서 일본, 일본에서 미국과 유럽까지 엮는 것입니다. 그 배후의 인맥을 UBC(유니버설발레단)나 UBA(유니버설아카데미)와 더불어 관계를 맺어서 묶어 놓으면 만년 조직이 될 것입니다. 이 최고 수준의 발레단과 한번 연결되면 가문의 자랑거리가 될 수 있습니다. 전 세계의 명문가문을 이렇게 묶는 것입니다.
 
7 통일원리를 주제로 한 발레를 만들어야 합니다. 아버님이 겪어 온 어려운 감옥생활 같은 것을 중심삼고 말입니다. 그것을 할 수 있는 안무가로서 세계 최고의 챔피언 같은 사람이 유니버설발레단에 있습니다. 발레 작품 중에서 ‘라 바야데어’가 아주 공연하기 어려운 작품입니다. 군무도 군무지만 개인 기술면에서 최고 수준의 무용수가 되지 않으면 안 됩니다. 개인 기술을 중심삼고 전문가 입장에서 대번에 평가하는 것입니다. 그다음에는 군무입니다. 그것이 참 힘든 것입니다. 전체가 보조를 맞추어야 되고, 짝을 이루어서 하나되어야 합니다. 발을 들게 될 때 조금만 높이 들어도 안 됩니다. 그 50명, 100명이 뛰는 소리가 한 사람이 뛰는 소리처럼 나야 된다는 것입니다. 그런데 그 공연을 보면서 ‘아직까지는 훈련을 좀 더 해야 되겠다.’고 생각했습니다.
 
8 우리 무용단은 앞으로 남녀문제에 대해 철저히 해야 됩니다. 연예인들이 그런 문제로 세상에서 좋지 않은 입장에 떨어지고 탈락된 사실을 바로잡고 혁명해야 됩니다. 우리 유니버설발레단도 아무리 잘하는 사람이더라도 그런 문제에 조금만 걸리면 쫓겨나게 해야 됩니다. 그런 면에서 세계적인 대혁명을 해야 됩니다. 그러려면 뜻적인 입장에서 본을 세워야 됩니다 연예계가 풍기문란하고 사회악을 조장할 수 있는 터전이 되어 있는 것을 청산짓기 위한 대표가 되어야 합니다. 그것을 아는 사람들이 혁명을 해야 됩니다. 모르는 사람들 가지고는 혁명해 봤자 아무 효과가 없습니다. 이론적인 면에서나 행동적인 면에서나 안팎을 맞추어 그들이 공인할 수 있는 입장에서 정정당당한 노선을 만들어야 합니다. 내가 이런 점에서 연예 분야에 관심을 가졌기 때문에 리틀엔젤스도 만들고 유니버설발레단도 만들어서 이제 세계 정상에 올라왔습니다.

真の父母経 - 336. 「ユニバーサル・バレエ団」の創団

真の父母様は、文化芸術を通した理想的平和世界である心情文化世界の具現という趣旨 で、一九八四年五月十二日、「ユニバーサル・バレエ団」を創団された。「芸天美地、天上の芸術によって世の中を美しく」をビションとして創団された「ユニ バーサル・バレエ団」は、韓国で最初の民間によるプロのバレエ団である。

第一回公演の「シンデレラ」を筆頭に、韓国内、そして、世界十七ヵ国で千八百回以上の公演を披露し、アジアの代表的なバレエ団に成長した。

1     バレエは西洋舞踊ですが、西洋はキリスト教文化圏です。キリスト教文化圏は新婦文化です。主を新郎として、家庭と国に定着することを願ってきたのです。

新婦が願うのは新郎ですが、新郎と新婦が出会って歴史的な恨、神様の恨を解き、解放された踊りを踊ることによって、天地を振動させようという、決意に満ちた皆さんになることを願うものです。ですから、名前も「ユニバーサル」としました。

2     バレエと言えば、西欧社会、キリスト教文化圏では最高の芸術と考えています。これが、ロシアで最高の位置をつかみました。お父様は、一九八四年に「ユニ バーサル・バレエ団」をつくり、世界の頂上に向けて鍛錬させ、準備してきました。そうして、「リトル・エンジェルス芸術団」は東洋文化を中心として、「ユ ニバーサル・バレエ団」は西洋文化を中心として、芸術世界のトップに立つようになりました。このような驚くべき事実は、歴史的にたたえるべきことです。新 しい文化世界の創造に、輝かしい一つの礎石を据えたというのです。

3     お父様には、見えない力があります。それで、芸術分野で「ユニバーサル・バレエ団」をつくったのです。西洋世界がいくらバレエ文化を誇っても、今、お父様 がその先頭に立っています。西洋世界の人々は自分たちの文化をもって誇りますが、「さらに大きく発展できる希望的な内容があるか」と言えば、ないというの です。西洋世界のバレエは次第に下がっていきます。霊的な概念がありません。個人主義的な傾向に変わるので、統一がなく、伝統的なバレエの精神が消えたの です。

それをお父様が知って、先頭に立ちました。人種が異なり、宗教と習慣が異なり、国家が異なりますが、そのようなものをすべて飛び越えて一ヵ所に集め るのです。伝統を立てるのです。一九八四年の創団以降、十四年が過ぎ、それが事実として証明されるので、西洋世界が付いてきます。霊的な面でも文化的な面 でも、最高の位置に上がってきているというのです。

4     お父様は、世界に出発する時、絶対に疑いませんでした。心は一つでした。ありとあらゆる人が来ては去り、ありとあらゆることがありました。しかし、一つの 目的に向かって駆けてきました。ですから、皆さんがこれから行くための、すべてのものを準備したのです。世界の先進国家群に入っていける万全の準備を、す べてしたというのです。

「ユニバーサル・バレエ団」だけを見てもそうです。その内容がどれほど感動的か分かりません。どれほど感動的であれば、「ニューヨーク・タイムズ」 が一ぺージを使って三回も紹介してくれるでしょうか。そのような歴史はありません。ここから飛躍して、トップガン(Top Gun)になったのです。

5     お父様は、踊って歌う「リトル・エンジェルス芸術団」と「ユニバーサル・バレエ団」をつくりました。西洋でも東洋でも、笑顔で歌い、笑顔で踊れる最高の芸 術団体をもっています。そのようになるためには、何回も反復して練習し続けなければなりません。数百回、数千回、同じ動作を絶え間なく反復し、練習を行う 人がチャンピオンになるのです。

自由世界やアメリカは、個人主義の王国になったので、伝統的なバレエの精神は消えてなくなったと考えたのです。しかし、「ユニバーサル・バレエ団」 は、縦的な伝統を重視し、困難な過程を経てきたので、ナンバーワンの位置に上がりました。だからといって、驕慢になりなさいということではありません。こ れからが始まりです。

実際の世界が皆さんを待っています。ですから、最高になるために、絶え間なく反復し、訓練しなければなりません。そうすれば、のちに驚くべき基盤を 備えるようになるというのです。舞踊も、文化的背景と精神の結果として生まれるものです。それが芸術世界です。私たちは、東洋の芸術と西洋の芸術を占領す るのです。東洋の芸術を代表したものがリトル・エンジェルスであり、西洋の芸術を代表したものが「ユニバーサル・バレエ団」です。

6     皆さんは、「ユニバーサル・バレエ団」に希望をもたなければなりません。西欧社会の上流層の婦人たちは、バレエに対して評価できる実力がなければ、上流社 会の女性として威信が立ちません。その水準に合わせるようになれば、ロシアからこの西欧社会全体、アメリカだけでなく南米全体の女性たちを一つに束ねるこ とができます。そのようになれば、最高の女性たちを束ねることができる膨大な組織になります。

「世界平和女性連合」を通して、韓国から日本、日本からアメリカとヨーロッパまでつなぐのです。その背後の人脈を、UBC(ユニバーサル・バレエ 団)やUBA(ユニバーサル・バレエ・アカデミー)と共に関係を結んで束ねておけば、万年続く組織になるでしょう。一度、この最高水準のバレエ団と連結さ れれば、家門の自慢の種になり得ます。全世界の名家の家門をこのように束ねるのです。

7     「統一原理」をテーマにしたバレエをつくらなければなりません。お父様が経てきた厳しい監獄生活のようなものを中心テーマにするのです。それができる振付 師として、世界最高のチャンピオンのような人が、「ユニバーサル・バレエ団」にいます。

バレエ作品の中で、「ラ・バヤデール」は公演するのが非常に難しい作品です。群舞も難しいのですが、個人の技術面で最高基準の舞踏家にならなければ なりません。個人の技術を中心として、専門家の立場から、直ちに評価されるのです。その次には群舞です。それが本当に大変なのです。全体が歩調を合わせな ければならず、ペアを組んで一つにならなければなりません。足を上げるとき、ほんの少し高く上げてもいけません。その五十人、百人が跳ぶ音が、一人が跳ぶ 音のように響かなければならないというのです。その公演を見ながら「まだもう少し訓練をしなければならない」と思いました。

8     私たちの舞踊団は、これから男女問題に対して徹底しなければなりません。芸能人たちがそのような問題で、世の中において良くない立場に陥り、脱落していっ た事実を正し、革命しなければなりません。私たちの「ユニバーサル・バレエ団」も、いくら実力があっても、そのような問題に少しでも引っ掛かれば、追い出 すようにしなければならないのです。そのような面で世界的な大革命をしなければなりません。そのためには、み旨的な立場から手本を示さなければなりませ ん。

芸能界が風紀を乱し、社会悪を助長する基盤になっているので、これを清算する代表にならなければなりません。それを知っている人々が革命をしなけれ ばならないのです。知らない人々では、革命をしても何の効果もありません。理論的な面でも行動的な面でも、内外を合わせ、彼らが公認できる立場で正々堂々 とした路線をつくらなければなりません。私は、このような点から芸能分野に関心をもったので、リトル・エンジェルスもつくり、「ユニバーサル・バレエ団」 もつくって、今や世界の頂上に上がってきたのです。

With the goal of creating a world culture of heart, and an ideal world of peace through cultural arts, on May 12, 1984, True Parents decided to establish Universal Ballet. Founded with the vision of "Heavenly Art Creating a World of Beauty," Universal Ballet is Korea's oldest privately funded professional ballet company. Since its first performance of "Cinderella," the company has grown to become Asia's best-known ballet company, having given more than 1,800 performances in 16 countries in addition to Korea. 
 
1 Ballet is a western dance form, and the West is a Christian cultural realm. The Christian cultural realm is the culture of the bride. And this bride has fervently desired to make the Lord her bridegroom and settle in the family and the nation. The bride longs for the bridegroom. It is my hope that you can express your resolution to represent this union of the bride and bridegroom, that you can resolve the historical sorrow of God, and that you can dance the dance of liberation to move the entire universe. 2 Western society, the Christian cultural realm, considers ballet the most refined art form. This art attained its place of supremacy in Russia. I founded Universal Ballet in 1984. I called for training and preparation to make it the best company in the world. The Little Angels folk ballet that I founded in 1962 has attained a position of eminence in the world of eastern art and culture, and Universal Ballet has done the same in the world of western art and culture. This is a surprising historical fact, an accomplishment that will be praised in the future. In this way I laid a cornerstone that will stand forever in the new world culture. (310-269, 1999/07/22)
 
3 I have invisible strength. I founded Universal Ballet in the field of the arts. The western world is proud of its culture of ballet, and I am standing at its forefront. Western people have their cultural art forms and they are proud of them, but if you were to ask whether those art forms include hopeful messages or deeper meaning which will lead to a brighter future, you would find that they do not. Along with the rest of western culture, western ballet is gradually declining. It does not have a spiritual foundation and vision. Because it has developed an individualistic tendency, it lacks substance, and the traditional spirit of ballet has vanished.

I realized this and I took the lead. Although our race, religion, customs and nationalities are different, I am transcending all of that and bringing the fruits of civilizations together, establishing a new tradition. Now that this is plain for all to see, 14 years after I founded the ballet company in 1984, the western world is following my lead. From both the spiritual and the cultural viewpoints, we have ascended to the highest position. (293-148, 1998/05/26)
 
4 When I went out into the world, I had no doubts whatsoever. My mind was clear. All kinds of people came and went, and all sorts of incidents took place. Nonetheless, I rushed forward toward one single goal. I prepared everything for you to develop. All preparations have been made for you to enter the world s league of advanced nations. The existence of Universal Ballet attests to this. You have no idea how touching the story behind the company's founding was. It was so moving that The New York Times covered it with three full-page articles. Such a touching story is unparalleled in history. We made great leaps forward from there, and Universal Ballet has become a leading ballet company. (292-316, 1998/04/27)
 
5 I founded two companies for dance and musical performance, the Little Angels and Universal Ballet. Both in the West and the East, I have eminent performing arts groups that can sing and dance, bringing joy. To reach that level, performers have to practice over and over again, continually. Only a person who practices the same motion unceasingly hundreds and thousands of times can become a champion.

I saw that the traditional spirit of ballet had faded because America and the free world had become an empire of individualism. However, because Universal Ballet has attached great importance to establishing and maintaining a vertical tradition, and persevered through a difficult course, it is now a top class company.

That does not mean that you can now be arrogant. This is only the beginning. The whole world is waiting for you. Hence, to become the best, you need to seek perfection through continuous practice. If you do so, you will have an amazing foundation for the future. Dance, as part of the world of art, is a display of culture and spirit. We will come to own the arts, both eastern and western. The Little Angels represents the eastern arts, and Universal Ballet represents the western arts. (294-100, 1998/06/14)
 
6 You should pin your hopes on Universal Ballet. High-ranking women in western society cannot preserve their dignity if they are not capable of appreciating a ballet performance. Establishing that standard, you can bring together all the women of Europe, Russia, the United States and Latin America. If we were to do so, we would have an enormous organization that connects the leading women of the world. Through the Women's Federation for World Peace, I am planning to link Korea with Japan, and Japan with America and Europe. The performances of Universal Ballet and the Universal Ballet Academy can serve as a hub for a network of high-echelon leaders, a place where they can form personal relations and associations with one another that will be eternal. Your connection to this preeminent ballet company can be your family's source of pride. In this way, the most prominent families in the world can be brought together. (236-084, 1992/11/03)
 
7 A ballet performance should be created based on the Unification Principle—for instance, one that is about the difficulties I had to endure in prison. There is a person in Universal Ballet who can do that. When it comes to choreography, that person may well be the best in the world.

Among ballets, "La Bayadere" is a very difficult one to perform. To begin with, the group dances are difficult, but the solo dances are so difficult that only dancers of the highest caliber can undertake them. From a professional viewpoint, the personal skill of a ballerina can be assessed in a single moment. In the group dances, each dancer needs to keep in step, and move with the others in perfect unity. When the feet are lifted, they must not be lifted even a little bit too high. The sound of 50 or 100 dancers simultaneously descending from a jump must be like that of a single person. While watching their performance, I thought, "As good as they are, they need to practice a little more." (325-324, 2000/07/02)
 
8 In the future, our dance groups must be very strict about relationships between men and women. Loose relationships between men and women are common in the entertainment industry. Performers often have this problem, and it is a disgrace in the eyes of the world. We must change this. No matter how wonderful a performer is, if implicated in such a problem in even the smallest way, he or she cannot remain in Universal Ballet. In that way, we have to make a worldwide revolution by setting an example of alignment with God's Will. You should become the representatives who can bring an end to the current situation in the entertainment business, which has become the ground for promoting moral decay and social ills.

Those who understand this must initiate a revolution. Attempting to start a revolution with people who do not know about it or commit to it would be futile. Based on theoretical and practical viewpoints that match internally and externally, we need to create publicly-recognized, above-board standards. Because this issue interested me in the field of the performing arts, I founded the Little Angels and Universal Ballet, which have now climbed to the top positions worldwide. (338-093, 2000/10/29)
