꺼림칙하다/not entirely comfortable with something
뭔가 뒤가 켕긴다. 혹은 뭔가 수상쩍은 구석이 있다. 이런 뜻으로 쓸 수있는
영어 표현을 물어오신 분이 계셨습니다. '꺼림칙하다'는 표현을 영어로 하자면
"Not very comfortable with ~" 가 적당할 것 같습니다. 예를 들면 회사에 늦게
온 부하 직원이 배가 아파서 늦었다고 하는데 군것질을 계속 한다면 "I'm not
entirely comfortable with his excuses."라고 하면 되겠습니다.
"I'm not really comfortable with his plan (그 사람의 계획이 썩 맘에 들지는
않는데)."
Benny : Look at this ad! They offer a free trip to Hawaii for the first 10 callers!
Mary : I can't believe that. Is it really free of charge?
Benny : Yes. That's what they say. But I'm not entirely comfortable with it.
There must be some hidden cost.
Mary : You are probably right.
