This house remembers better days
Laughter drifting throught the halls
Now the silence knows my name,
And echoes answer when I call.
Your father packed his love in lies,
Left one morning without goodbye.
I stood alone beneath the sky,
With only god to hear my cry.
The nights were long, the road was cold,
My heart was tired and growing old...
But every tear that fell from me
Fell into heaven's hands.
A mother's tears fall slow and deep,
For promises we couldn't keep.
For empty rooms and silent years,
And love that never disappears.
You may forget the road back home...
But I still whisper through my prayers
That one day I'll hear you call me
Mom... again.
They say a man must leave his home,
Become one flesh beside his wife.
I blessed the love you choes that day,
And prayed for happiness in your life.
But months turned slowly into years,
And still the phone don't ring for me.
Sometimes I wonder if you know
your mother waits silently.
I don't blame love... I don't blame fate...
A mother learns to stand and wait.
Because the heart that raised a child
Never walks away.
A father's tears fall slow and deep,
For promises he couldn't keep.
For empty rooms and missing years,
And words drowned out by pain and fear.
you may have walked so far from home...
But every night inside my prayers,
I still ask god to bring you back...
My son... again.
Maybe life just carried you too far...
Maybe you forgot the sound of my voice...
But mother never forgets her child.
Even when the world forgets her.
A mother's tears still hall tonight,
But faith has turned my pain to light.
Because the god who hears my prayers
Knows every sorrow that I bear.
So if one day you walk back through that door
And whisper like you did years before
" mom..."
you'll find my heart still waiting here...
Through all these mother's tears.
