ASME(미국기계기술자학회:American Society of Mechanical Engineers)주관으로 하는

인증 시험(Certification)이 있습니다.

GDTP(Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Professional Certification)라고 하며,

 

국내 교육기관 몇곳에서도 이것 도입을 검토 했었으나,

가격이 너무 비싸서, 시행 하지 못 하였습니다.(일반 측정기사 조차도 1년에 10명 미만이 응시 하는 상황에서, 40만원이 넘는 이런 자격증 시험을 누가 보겠나 싶은 거지요.  참고로 응시인원이 적은 관계로 측정기사는 몇년전에 폐지 되었습니다.)

 

A fee of $375, payable by check, money order or credit card must accompany the completed application. (Purchase orders are not acceptable as payment.) This fee consists of a $50 non-refundable application fee, a $235 examination fee, and a $90 certification fee. The examination fee is refundable if you decide not to take the examination. The certification fee is refundable if you do not take or pass the examination.

만약 당신이 시험을 치루지 않거나 시험을 통과한다면 증명 요금은 반환한다.

Levels of Certification

Technologist Level

ASME GDTP TechnologistTechnologist Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Professional (GDTP) Certification, achieved by passing a computer-based, multiple choice examination, provides an objective measure of an individual's understanding of the meaning of symbols, modifiers, and relationships of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) as applied to engineering drawings and related documentation as defined by the ASME Y14.5 Standard. 

The ASME GDTP Technologist symbol is for the sole use of those individuals who have demonstrated the required qualifications in accordance with the ASME Y14.5.2 Standard for the Certification of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Professionals (GDTP). The symbol was developed for the benefit of those who met the qualifications, and for recognition of their achievement within the field of engineering.

Senior Level 

GDTP SeniorSenior Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Professional (GDTP) Certification, achieved by passing a computer-based, multiple choice examination, provides the additional objective measure of an individual's ability with respect to:  (a) understanding the meaning of the symbols, modifiers, and relationships of GD&T as applied to engineering drawings and related documentation;  (b) making the proper selection, with consideration for the function and relationship of part features, of geometric controls to document the product design intent;  (c) Performing calculations associated with GD&T;  (d) Applying the appropriate geometric control symbols, modifiers, and datum references to the engineering drawings and related documentation;  (e) Applying the principles of GD&T to the operations of manufacturing, quality control, and verification processes associated with engineering drawings and related documentation;  (f) Applying the principles of GD&T to the establishment of functional gaging activities.

 The ASME GDTP Senior symbol is for the sole use of those individuals who have demonstrated the required qualifications in accordance with the ASME Y14.5.2 Standard for the Certification of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Professionals (GDTP). The symbol was developed for the benefit of those who met the qualifications, and for recognition of their achievement within the field of engineering.

GDTP (Y14.5) - Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Professional Certification

ASME GDTP Certification provides the means to recognize proficiency in the understanding and application of the geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles expressed in the ASME Y14.5 Standard. It is based on a multiple-choice examination.

There are two levels of ASME GDTP Certification: Senior and Technologist

A Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Professional (GDTP) might typically be employed as, but not limited to: Design Engineer; CAD/CAM/CAE Specialist; Drafter, Production or Manufacturing Engineer; Process Engineer; Quality Engineer; Tool or Gage Engineer; Engineering Manager; Checker; Engineering Consultant; Educator; Inspector; Contract Engineer; Project Engineer; and Technical Specialist. 

The 2009 edition of the Y14.5 standard became available in March, 2009.  ASME is in the process of updating the certification examination to the new edition, however, until further notice it will continue to be based on Y14.5-1994 standard.


Why get ASME GDTP Certified?
