인생은 끈이다.
사람은 끈을 따라 태어나고, 끈을 따라 맺어지고, 끈이 다하면 끊어진다.(Life is a string. A man is born along a string, is bound along a string, and is broken when a string runs out.)
끈은 길이요, 연결망(連結網, Network)이요, 인연(因緣, Fate)이다.
내가 가지는 좋은 끈이 좋은 인맥(人脈, personal connections) 좋은 인연을 만든다.(A string is a path, a network, a connection. The good ties I have make good connections and good connections.)
인생에서 필요한 5가지 끈을 알아보자.(Let's find out the five strings you need in life.)
1. 매끈(1. Smooth)
까칠한 사람이 되지 마라.
보기 좋은 떡이 먹기 좋고 모난 돌은 정맞기 쉽다.(Don't be a feisty person. A good-looking rice cake is good to eat, and a hard stone is easy to get along with.)
세련되게 입고, 밝게 웃고, 자신감 넘치는 태도로 매너 있게 행동하라.(Dress sophisticatedly, smile brightly, and behave in a confident manner.)
외모가 미끈하고 성품이 매끈한 사람이 되라.(Be a smooth-looking and smooth-tempered person.)
2. 발끈(2. a fit of anger)
오기있는 사람이 되라.
실패란 넘어지는 것이 아니라 넘어진 자리에 머무는 것이다.(Be a man of will. Failure is not to fall, but to stay where you fell.)
동트기 전이 가장 어두운 법이니 어려운 순간일수록 오히려 발끈하라!(It is the darkest law before dawn, so the more difficult the moment is, the more angry it is!)
가슴속에 불덩이 하나쯤 품고 살아라.(Live with a ball of fire in your heart.)
3. 화끈(3. Fire string)
미적지근한 사람이 되지 마라.
누군가 해야 할 일이라면 내가 하고, 언젠가 해야 할 일이라면 지금 하고, 어차피 할 일이라면 화끈하게 하라.(Don't be a tepid person. Do what someone has to do, do what they have to do, do what they have to do now, and do what they have to do anyway.)
눈치 보지 말고 소신껏 행동하는 사람, 내숭떨지 말고 화끈한 사람 이 되라!(Be a person who acts according to his or her convictions without looking around, and be a hot person without showing off!)
4. 질끈(4. Closer)
용서할 줄 아는 사람이 되라. 실수나 결점(缺點, fault)이 없는 사람은 없다.(Be a forgiving person. There is no man without mistakes or faults.)
다른 사람을 쓸데없이 비난(非難, accusation)하지 말고 질끈 눈을 감아라.(Don't blame others unnecessarily and close your eyes tightly.)
한번 내뱉은 말은 다시 주워 담을 수 없으니 입이 간지러워도 참고, 보고도 못 본척 할 수 있는 사람이 되라.(Once you say something, you can't pick it up again, so be a person who can endure it even if your mouth is itchy and pretend not to see it.)
다른 사람이 나를 비난(非難, blame) 해도 질끈 눈을 감아라.(Close your eyes tightly even if someone else criticizes me.)
5. 따끈(5. Warm)
따뜻한 사람이 되라.
계산적인 차가운 사람이 아니라
인간미가 느껴지는 사람이 되라.(Be a warm person. Be a human being, not a calculating cold person.)
털털한 사람, 인정 많은 사람, 메마르지 않은 사람, 다른
사람에게 베풀 줄 아는 따끈한
사람이 되라.(Be an easygoing person, a compassionate person, a person who is not dry, a warm person who knows how to give to others.)
끈끈한 만남이 그리운 세상입니 다. 쉽게 만나고 쉽게 헤어지는
인연이 아니라 한번 인맥(人脈, connections)은 영원한 인맥으로 만나려는 끈끈한 사람들이 아쉬운
세상입니다.(It's a world where I miss close encounters. It's not a relationship that meets easily and breaks up easily, but it's a world where it's a pity that people who want to meet once with an eternal connection are strong.)
