M: It's my new neighbors in the apartment next door. They're driving me up the wall!/ C: Are they playing their music too loud?

C: How are your noisy neighbors?/ M: Well, I talked to her the other day and explained my situation, but she brushed it off.
C: You should go easy on her, it can't be easy having three little children in an apartment.
M: Remember how you felt when there was construction outside your apartment for six months.
C: Yeah, I hated it to say the least. It was really inconvenient.
M: What did you do to make it easier to live with? Because I don't think this will be better in six months.
C: When I lived in that noisy apartment, I couldn't complain to the city. They were following the laws about when they could and couldn't work.
M: I tried to talk to the apartment manager, but it was like talking to a wall./ C: It sounds like you're at the end of your rope.
M: I am! And I'm tempted to take legal action against the apartment management company.
I know you're frustrated, but do you really want to go down that road?/ M: No, because it would be cheaper to just move.
M: What did you finally do about the noise at your previous apartment?
C: When I couldn't stand it anymore, I researched soundproofing my apartment. But that was too expensive.
M: Yeah, the last thing I need is to spend money I don't have.
C: Anyway, I came across these noise-canceling headphones. But they were kind of bulky.
M: They sound like a good solution for the day, but I also need something for nighttime.
C: I bought a pair of ear buds that are comfortable to sleep in and met my needs./ C: Hey, Maria! You look well-rested for once.
M: Thanks, I am! When I decided that the worst-case scenario was that I would move out, I tried something less drastic.
C: That's good. What did you do?
M: My neighbor and I came to an understanding. She agreed to take her kids to the park between 2 and 4 every day when I have business calls.
C What about for the rest of the day?
M: For that, I took your advice and got the noise-cancelling headphones and ear buds. It was money well-spent.

B: The seafood in Williams Bay is dirt cheap. I could spend the weekend feasting!

C: I booked the Hemingway suite at the William Bay B&B for the weekend. That's the one with the hot tub on the balcony.
B: That's great! Everything else in down pales in comparison.
C: And the owners always go above and beyond to make their guests happy.
B: Remember when we stayed there in the winter? They had a fire burning in the fireplace in our room when we arrived.
C: How can I forget! It was our fifth anniversary./ B: That place is really special. I can't wait for Friday!
B: I'm going to leave work at 3:00 so we can get to Williams Bay before rush hour.
