The Fox and The Lion
A very young Fox, who had never before seen a Lion, happened to meet one in the forest. A single look was enough to send the Fox off at top speed for the nearest hiding place.
The second time the Fox saw the Lion he stopped behind a tree to look at him a moment before slinking away. But the third time, the Fox went boldly up to the Lion and, without turning a hair, said, "Hello, there, old friend."
Familiarity breeds contempt.

해석
여우와 사자
전에 사자를 전혀 보지 못했던 아주 어린 여우가 숲속에서 우연히 사자를 만났다. 처음 보았을때 그 여우가 근처 가까운 은신처를 찾기위해 죽을 힘을 다해 뛰었다.
두번째 그 여우가 그 사자를 보았을때, 그 여우는 슬금슬금 도망가기에 앞서 잠깐 그를 보기 위해 나무 뒤에서 멈췄다. 그러나 세번째 ( 보았을때 ), 그 여우는 머리털 한올도 돌리지 않을채 대담하게 사자에게 가서 "안녕, 거기 옛 친구여" 라고 말했다.
친근함은 업신여김을 낳는다.
