전날 고생한 것을 거울삼아 이제는 슬슬 하기로 했다.
내일 쉬는 날이니 오늘은 해뜨거워지는 즉시 종료하고
나머지 거리는 저녁이나 내일 새벽을 활용하기로..
Considering yesterday's crisis, I decided to slow down from now on.
Tomorrow is rest day. Therefore I planned to stop first course when the sun get hot,
and continue second course in the evening or tomorrow's morning.
전날 오토바이를 얻어탔던 그 다리로 새벽같이 가서 다시 출발한다.
마침 일출이다. 5시 40분.
I went to the bridge where I met the motorcyclist yesterday.
I started at 5:40 just when the sun was rising up.
베트남도 자전거 대회가 인기있나 보다.
In Vietnam, motorcycle race may be a popular sports.
9시가 지나니 벌써 뜨거워진다.
10시에 하루 일과를 종료하고 Vinh 시내에 있는 숙소로 직행했다
After 9 o'clock, the weather was very hot already. I stopped morning course at 10 o'clock.
I went directly to the quarters in Vinh city.
한국식당에 가서 두부김치를 시켜 오랫만에 배불리 먹었다.
도교풍의 기복신앙을 하는 듯한 차례상이 식당의 가운데에 자리잡고 있다. 이 식당의 사장은 베트남인인듯. 하지만 음식만큼은 제대로 된 한식이다.
I went to a Korean restaurant, and enjoyed Korean food which I missed for a long time.
A table of ritual food (probably Taoism) was set in the middle of the restaurant.
The owner of the restaurant seems to be a Vietnamese.
But the food was genuine Korean food.
호텔에 와서 누워 있으려니 천장의 전등의 디자인과 문양이 눈에 들어온다.
When I lay down on the floor of the hotel, I could see characteristic design of an electric lamp.
다음날 아침 6시에 시작했다.
걷기 1시간도 안되어 도보여행하는 베트남 젊은이가 필자에게 달려와 인사한다.
열흘 전에 하노이 남쪽에 있는 Ha Nam이란 곳에서 필자를 만났다는 것이다.
그는 하노이에서 호치민까지 도보여행중인데 그때 필자로부터 리플렛을 받았다는 것이다.
과연 그걸 보니 어렴풋이 기억이 난다.
반가웠다.
The next day, I started at 6 o'clock in the morning.
When walked less than one hour, a young Vietnamese came to me and greeted me.
He said he met me in Ha Nam located at south of Hanoi, ten days ago.
At that time, he was traveling on foot from Hanoi to Ho Chin Min.
He said he received the pilgrimage leaflet from me.
Then I was reminded of him. I was very pleased.
그의 나이는 19살. 하노이에 있는 대학을 다닌다고 한다.
가상한 젊은이다.
함께 아침을 먹으면서 그가 말하기를 필자와 하루쯤 함께 걷고 싶다고 한다.
He was 19 years old. He was a college student at Hanoi.
He was a hopeful young man.
While we eat breakfast together, he offered me to walk together one day.
필자가 그러면 오늘 외에는 기회가 없으니 오늘 Vinh 대학까지 10km 쯤 함께 걷자고 했다.
사실 필자는 내일부터 서쪽 라오스로 향하니 이 만남은 어쩌면 운명적이다.
그에게 깃발을 하나 건네주고 출발.
I told him, "Today is my last course in Vietnam. How about walking with me today to Vinh University, about 10 km?"
From tomorrow I go to Laos. Therefore, I would say our meeting was controlled by fate.
I gave him a flag and we started today's walking together.
빈 변두리의 고가도로 밑에서 즉석 장터가 열리고 있다.
빈은 인구 50만의 꽤 큰 도시다.
걷기 시작하면서 이 청년은 불안해 하기 시작했다.
공안(경찰)이 이 행진을 문제 삼지 않을까 하고 내게 묻는 것이었다.
필자는 대답했다. "걱정말라. 문제없다."
그래도 구글번역기에 대고 연신 질문한다. 자기는 걱정된다고.
At the outskirt of Vinh, a flea market was open.
Vinh is a large city with a population of 500,000.
While he walk, the young man became uneasy.
He asked me "Will the police stop my joining the pilgrimage?"
I answered, "Don't worry. No problem."
But he was not assured.
He kept asking me about the police by using Google interpreter app.
그러다가 멀리 공안(경찰)이 보이자
필자는 지금까지 그래왔던 것처럼 공안들에게도 반가이 손을 흔들었다.
공안들도 웃으면서 손을 흔들거나 심지어는 경례를 하는 이도 있었다.
그는 그걸 보더니 안심이 되는 모양이다.
Finally, we saw a policeman far away. I waved to the police as I have done so far.
The police waved with a smile to me. I even saw a policeman who saluted me.
필자가 그에게 말했다.
"공안도 나를 좋아한다구"
그러니까 그는 필자가 힘이 세다는 제스추어와 함께 엄지를 치켜올린다.
I told him, "The police like me too."
Then he gestured with thumbs up that you are strong.
빈대학에 도착했다.
그에게는 무척 길었던 10km 였을 것이다.
Finally we arrived at Vinh university.
His 10 km walking must have been a very long distance.
사진찍기를 부탁받은 여학생이 이 지도를 보고 대번 이해하고는
자신도 함께 사진을 찍고 싶다고 해서 한 컷.
The girl who was asked to take a picture saw the pilgrimage map.
She understood the pilgrimage immediately.
I took a picture with the girl.
