그저께 도착후 도움을 받은 집에 가서 실크로드 휘장을 선물했다.
가운데 미소짓는 아주머니가 그날 밤에는 남편을 움직여 돕게 하더니,
이날은 아들로 하여금 휘장을 전달받게 한다.
세상은 여자가 움직인다.
I presented a silk road emblem to the family who helped me when I arrived two days ago.
The lady who smiles in the picture asked her husband to help the pilgrims, and also asked
his son to receive the emblem.
It is the women who control the family and the world.
이날은 걷기좋은 날씨아래 빼어난 경치를 감상하느라 시간가는 줄 몰랐다.
사실 도보여행이란 게 두 다리만 튼튼하면 시속 4km 전후의 관광열차를 타고 유람을 하는 것이다.
The weather was good. I lost my mind in looking at beautiful scenery.
Travelling on foot is just like to ride a sight-seeing train which moves at the speed of 4km/hr.
The ticket for the train is two strong legs.
점심도 이처럼 절경을 감상하면서
I eat lunch while I enjoy beautiful scenery.
필자는 농사에 대한 관심이 컸다.
원래 운하/4대강 반대운동하러 세상에 나오는 10년전까지는
학교캠퍼스 뒤쪽에 생태농장을 만들어 이것 저것 실험을 하고 있던 터였다.

그런데 이 라오스에 와서 낌새가 수상한 논들이 눈에 들어온다.
이 논까지는 그렇다 치고,
In Laos, I found the rice paddies unusual.
이곳은 밭벼가 아닌가?
밭벼는 필자가 관심이 많은 종목이다.
논바닥을 고르게 하고 수평을 잡아 물대기를 넣었다 뺐다 하면서 잡초를 나지 않도록 하는
논벼방식은 규모의 경제를 따를 수밖에 없는데 비해
밭벼는 지형에 맞게 소규모로 자급형 농사가 가능하기 때문이다. 그리고 생육이 제대로만 되면 그 영양가가 뛰어나다.
다만 잡초를 억제하는 기술이 어려운데, 농약을 치지 않고 생태적 방식으로 짓는 방법이 어렵다.
그런데 이 밭벼는 어떻게 재배했을까? 어떻게 했길래 이렇게 깨끗하게 재배했을까?
궁금하다.
They grow dry-field rice plant in Laos.
Dry-field rice is one of the species which I am interested in.
When we grow wet-field rice, we control the weeds by filling the field with water.
To supply water, large-scale irrigation is necessary.
Therefore, growing rice follows the economics principle, the scale of economy.
On the other hand growing dry-field rice demands less water.
We can grow dry-field rice in small scale and self-sufficient way.
The dry-field rice is better than wet-field rice in nutritional persprctive.
The weakness of growing dry-field rice is the weeds problem.
It is very difficult to control the weeds without relying on pesticide.
The rice field in Laos seems to be free of the weeds. How come?
I would like to explore this problem later.
국립공원지역에서는 좀더 정밀한 토지이용규제도가 걸려있다.
독일의 이름도 보인다.
In national park area, they posted the signboard of land-use regulation.
In the signboard, I found German name.
날씨덕분에 27km의 장거리를 오후 2시반쯤에 끝내었다.
강변에 있는 숙소에 일찍 돌아와서 노트북으로 일을 본다.
피로를 푼다고 느긋하게 쉬는 시간이 많아서
지난 일을 정리하고 앞으로의 일을 준비하는 시간은 늘 부족하다.
Because of good weather, I could finish today's course, 27 kilometers, around 2:30 in the
afternoon. I came back to the hotel at riverside. I did some internet-work using a notebook.
I can't rest freely even after I came back to the shelter.
I have to arrange the past works, and prepare for the future works to do.
All the time, I work under time-constraint.
