태국 첫날이다.
이 날은 매우 바빴다. 버스로 국경을 넘고 멀리까지 가서 운반용 차를 렌트하여 다시 시작지점으로 돌아와서 숙소를 잡고 오후에 출발했다.
The first day in Thailand was very busy. We crossed the border by bus.
We went a long distance and rented a car to carry baggages.
We came back to the starting point and reserved a hotel.
We started walking in the afternoon.
국경다리를 걸어서 건너기가 기술적으로 어려워서 양안의 다리연결지점에서 어제와 오늘 도착하고 출발하는 것으로 했다.
펼침막을 오랫만에 펼쳐들었다,
베트남과 라오스에서는 이 펼침막 사용을 참은 터이다.
It was technically difficult for us to cross the border bridge on foot for one day.
Therefore, it took for us two days to cross the bridge.
We held the placard after long rest.
We withheld showing the placard in Vietnam and Laos.

어두워질 즈음에 청년 둘이서 각각 다른 생수와 음료수를 들고 왔다.
그들은 순례 그자체에 존중의 뜻을 갖고 있는 듯 하다.
종교자유는 있지만 대부분 국민이 석달씩 절집 수행을 할 정도로 불교적 생활이 몸에 배여 있다고 한다.
순례자에 대한 태도도 다르다.
우리들이 걸어가다가 손을 흔들면 젊은이들은 대부분 목례를 할 정도이다.
Around sunset, two young men came to us and gave bottled water and other drink.
They seem to respect the pilgrimage itself.
Though they have 'freedom of religion,' most people in Thailand are Buddhist.
They spend three months of ascetic practices at temple every year.
Their attitude about the pilgrims is somewhat different from the other countries.
When we wave, most of the people just bow.

밤늦게 먹은 야시장의 저녁식사.
싸고 맛있다. 두 사람이 세 사람몫을 먹었다.
We had very late supper at night-market. The meal was cheap and delicious.
Two of us ate the food for three people.
