큰길(1번국도)에서 벗어나 동네길을 이용하기로 했다.
I decided to deviate from the national road no. 1, and follow small village road.
방콕근교의 사람사는 동네는 아기자기한 경관이 연출된다.
The village near Bangkok revealed various appearances.
자주 눈에 띄는 일반주택. 마당이 넓고 건물을 지상에서 띄웠다.
The common residence has a large front yard.
The house leaves space above gound by pillars.
동네에서는 어깨를 드러낸 의상이 보통인가 보다.
이분이 필자에게 호기심을 갖고 묻길래 설명을 해주었다.
In the village, the ordinary clothes of women do not cover shoulders.
This lady was curious about me. I explained about the pilgrimage.
오토바이를 타고 생수를 가져다 준 청년.
This young man rode a motorcycle in order to give me a bottle of cold water.
이 청년들은 호기심때문 가던 길을 돌아와 필자에게 행선지를 묻고는 오토바이를 타지 않겠느냐고 묻는다. 필자의 답변은, Thank you, but I am only walking. 그러자 고개를 끄덕인다.
These young men was very curious about me. They passed by, and returned to me.
They asked me, "Where are you going? I would like to give you a ride."
I answered, "Thank you, but I am only walking." Then they nodded.
바나나가 주렁주렁 열린 가로수다.
The banana trees are lined along the road.
커다란 도마뱀 한마리가 길을 건너다 횡사했다.
인간이 만든 환경은 동물들에게는 위험하기 짝이 없다.
A large lizard was road-killed.
The man-made environment is extremely dangerous to the animals.
동네를 지나는데 아주머니가 호기심을 갖는다.
While I was passing by a village, a woman was curious about me.
미용실 주인이다.
This lady is the owner of a beauty salon.
아주 깔끔한 휴식공간에 앉아 시원한 생수를 마셨다.
I drank cold water at a very comfortable rest area of the beauty salon.
그녀는 화단을 손수 가꾸고 있다.
She growed flowers in her own garden.
하라상의 일과가 시작되었다.
Mr. Hara started his daily work, meeting people and taking pictures with people.
그러던 중 이 소녀들과 친해진 것 같다.
Mr. Hara became friends with these young girls.
그러던 중 그녀들이 하라상에게 설명을 들은 바 있는 순례자(필자)가 걸어가고 있자, 오토바이로 가까이 왔다. 함께 한 컷.
The young girls found me whom Mr. Hara explained about already.
They came to me by a motorcycle and took a picture with me.
동네 운전기사들도 좋아한다.

오늘의 큰 수확은 걸으시는 부처님을 다시 만난 것이다.
Today's large benefit was that I could meet the statue of walking Buddha second time.
우산과 지팡이에 맨발이다.
The walking Buddha was barefoot, with umbrella and stick.
걷는 부처님을 자주 뵙는 것은 태국순례의 큰 수확이다.
순례는 부처님 삶의 중요한 부분이었다.
도보순례는 걷는 것 이상의 무엇인가가 있다.
The spiritual harvest of Thai pilgrimage is to meet walking Buddha frequently.
The pilgrimage was an important part of Buddha's life.
Walking the road implies a very important something, beyond walking.
