Kushinagar with Koreans
부처님이 열반하신 쿠시나가르 유적지를 보는 날이다.
Today I went to Kushinagar historic site where Buddha entered Nirvana.
오전에 한국에서 100인 위원의 한 분인 한규석 교수(전남대, 심리학)와 그의 친우인 이희복님이 도착했다.
약 사흘동안 함께 지내고 걷기로 했다.
In the forenoon, professor Han Gyu Seok (Cheonnam University, psychology major)
and his friend Lee Hee Bok arrived.
They will join Silk Road pilgrimage and walk for three days.
Professor Han is one of 100 supporting members of Silk Road Pilgrimage.
숙소에서 1.5km 떨어진 유적지로 걸어간다.
We walked to the historic site, 1.5 km apart from the lodging.
부처님의 열반하신 현장을 본뜬 실내로 들어갔다.
We entered inside of the relic and saw the replica of the place where Buddha entered Nirvana.

유적지에서 한참 시간을 보냈다.
We looked around the relic for a while.
그러던 중 우리 일행에 관심을 갖는 사람들과 많은 얘기를 나누고,
And I talked with some people who showed curiosity about our group.
기념촬영을 했다.
And I took a picture with people.
유적지를 나와서 대한사를 다시 방문하였다. 스님께서 따뜻하게 맞아주신다.
(날이 어두워져서 기념촬영할 생각을 미처 하지 못했다.)
After leaving the historic site, we went back to Daehansa temple. The monk greeted us kindly.
(Since it was dark, I did not think of taking a picture.)
Kushinagar ~ Upaspur
24 km
다음날 아침 숙소에서 24 km 구간을 함께 걷는다. 오랫만의 4인 행진이다.
Next day, we walked 23 km together. Four-people parade took place after a long while.
한규석 교수가 호기심을 갖는 학생들과 걸으면서 대화를 나눈다.
Professor Han walked and sometimes talked with students who showed curiosity.
헤어지면서 기념촬영
We took a picture together when students depart.
동네사람들과도 어울렸다.
Sometimes we mingled with villagers.
아이들은 언제나 호기심이 넘친다.
Children are always full with curiosity.
이 지역의 역사적 인물 같다.
힌디어로만 설명이 되어 있어서 아쉬웠다.
The statue seems to be a historical figure in this region.
But I could not understand the explanation in Hindi.
들판에서 누가 불을 피우고 있길래 살펴보니 멧돼지를 통째로 굽고 있다.
Somebody made a fire in the field.
I approched and found out that they were roasting a wild boar whole.
순례 막바지에 생과일쥬스를 마시며 피로를 풀었다.
At the last part of walking, we drank fruit juice and relieved the fatigue.
