출발지에서 걸은지 얼마 안되는 간이음식점에서 차파티라는 밀가루반죽빵을 먹고 있는데
옆자리에 할머니와 귀여운 아이 둘이 앉는다.
반갑게 손을 흔들고 사진을 찍었다.
I arrived at a small restaurant after walking for a while.
I ordered chapati which was a kind of pasta bread.
Beside me, a grandmother with two cute children took the seat.
I waved to the children, and took a picture of them.
그랬더니 한 아이가 이렇게 과자를 내민다.
'순례자여 잘 드시게'
Then, one child gave me his cookie.
He may have said like this, "Pilgrim! Please take this food,"
특별한 아침이다.
It was a very special morning.
아니나 다를까 이 동네는 학교가 많다.
길가 너머로 보이는 학교마당에서 필자일행을 보는 학생들이 환호를 지른다.
Surprisingly, there were many schools in this village.
Over the wall, the students saw me. They waved to me and shouted.
담너머로 영문리플렛을 전해주었다.
아마도 상급학년들은 이해를 할 것이다.
I gave English leaflets to the students over the wall.
Probably, high grade students may understand my pilgrimage.
필자의 함께 가자는 손짓에 아이들은 도망가기 바쁘다.
When I waved to the children "let's go with me," they fled.
봄날이 다가와서인지
이 학교는 마당에서 단체 수업을 하고 있다.
Since spring was near, students were doing group study in the yard.
학생들의 눈길이 필자일행에게 쏠리자 지휘하고 있던 교장선생님이 우리를 불러 세운다.
상세히 설명했다.
특히 캘커타에서 여기까지 두달동안 걸어왔다는 대목이 그의 마음을 움직인 것 같다.
Because students showed curiosity, the principal called me.
I explained about pilgrimage in detail.
He was probably moved by the fact that I walked from Calcutta to this point for two months.
담임선생님들에게 이야기하여 학생들을 집합시키더니
He asked the teacher to gather all students.
학생들앞에 가서 필자일행을 소개하고
He introduced me to the students.
필자와 함께 현수막지도를 보면서 서울에서 로마까지의 2년간의 도보순례와 목적을 전달해준다.
And he explained my pilgrimage, showing the large placard map.
He talked about the course and purpose of my pilgrimage.
노스코리아의 김정은은 필자가 말하지도 않았는데
교장선생님이 핵무기위험과 그의 이름을 언급하면서 이와 대비되는 핵발전소의 위험을 설명했다.
I did not mention North Korea leader, Kim Jeong Eun, but he talked about the threat of nuclear weapons of Kim Jeong Eun.
열여분의 선생님들께는 일일이 리플렛을 전달해드렸다.
I gave English leaflets to a dozen of teachers.
함께 기념사진. 학교단위로는 처음이다.
학생들의 기억에는 선명하게 남을 터이다. 뿌듯하다.
I took a picture with students.
This picture was the first one which was taken with all the students of a school.
The will remember my pilgrimage for a long time.
I felt a great fullfillment.
네팔국경까지 15 km,
오늘의 목적지까지는 7 km 남았다.
Nepal border is 15km away.
I have left 7km until today's destination.
앞서서 걸어가는 여학생들의 곱게 땋은 머리가 인상적이다.
It was very impressive to see the trimmed hair of girl students.
봄날을 맞아 양떼가 대거 나들이에 나섰다.
Since it was spring time, herds of lamb went on a picnic.

상급학생에게는 리플렛을 선생님께 전해드리라고 하였다.

인도도 이제 태양광보급이 본격적이다.
최근 한국의 태양광기업과도 큰 계약을 체결했다고 한다
In India. solar panels started to be supplied.
I heard that an Indian company made a big contract with a Korean company
to sell solar panels.
멋있는 닭들이다.
Elegant hens.
살아있는 동안은 삶은 이래야 한다.
동물도 그럴 권리가 있다.
한국의 가축집단살상만 생각하면 가슴이 쓰리다.
All living beings should enjoy living in this planet.
Animals do have rights to live in happiness.
I feel pain in my heart whenever I think of massive killing of foultry in Korea.
도로에 태연히 누워있는 소.
그 때문에 도로가 병목이 되어 혼잡해졌다. 그러나 아무도 이 소를 제지하지 않는다.
인도다운 풍경이다.
A cow is lying in the street without human intervention.
The cow made a traffic congestion. But no one intervenes.
It was a typical appearance of India.
