룸비니 가까운 작은 도시 Bhairahawa(Siddharthanagar)의 아이들이다.
The children live at Bhairahawa, a small city near Lumbini.

숙소부근의 동네에서는 길닦기와 하수로 정비 공사가 한창이다.
They were busy with constructing road, and repairing sewerage.

카트만두로 가는 공항까지 약 4km를 걸어가는 도중 '안녕하세요' 라고 말을 걸어오는 청년들을 만났다.
We walked about 4 km to the airport.
While walking, two youths follwed us and said "Annyeonghaseyo?" in Korean.
한국어를 배운지 두 달 된다고 하는 청년들이다. 반가웠다.
그들은 여섯달 배운 후 한국어 시험을 볼 예정이라고 한다.
They said "I have learned Korean for 2 months." I was very glad to meet them.
They will apply for Korean Langauage Test after studying 6 months.
공항입구의 아기 불상

부처님 탄생지 다운 분위기다.
The large picture of Buddha indicates this town is the birthplace of Buddha.
공항대합실에 있는 포스터를 보면 네팔인 가운데 상당수는 한국인과 겉모습이 비슷하다.
그래서 인도사람들이 필자에게 네팔 사람이냐고 물는 경우도 많았다.
When you see the posters in waiting room of the airport,
some Nepalese in the picture seem to look like Korean.
Therefore, while I was walking in India some people asked if I were a Nepalese.
공항에서 만난 이 청년은 한국에서 6년째 일하고 있는데 잠시 휴가 나왔다고 한다.
유창한 한국어로 말하는 그는 처음에는 부산에서 배만드는 일을 하다가 지금은 대전에서 전철엔진 만드는 일을 하고 있다고 한다.
기술자다. 한국에는 네팔인이 5만명 정도 있다고 한다.
요즘 한국에 많이 가는 이유가 일본과 임금차이가 없는데 비해 입국요건이 한국은 한국어시험만 잘 보면 되기 때문에 쉽다고 한다.
I met this young man at the airport. He has worked in Korea for 6 years.
He came to Nepal for a while during a leave. He spoke in fluent Korean.
He said, "First, I worked at shipyard in Pusan.
Now I work at Daejeon, making engines for electric railway."
He was an engineer. According to his saying, there are 50,000 Nepalese workers in Korea.
These days, the wage difference between Korea and Japan is not that big.
But the requirement for working visa of Korea is less strict compared to Japan.
Korean government only require good score in Korean Language Test.
하라상은 공항에서도 쉬지 않고 실크로드를 알리고 있다.
Mr. Hara was eager to publicize Silk Road pilgrimage even at the airport.
카트만두로 가는 상공에서 멀리 보이는 히말라야 산맥.
다행히 날씨가 좋아서 눈요기를 실컷 했다.

I could see the Himalaya mountains through the window of the airplane.
네팔은 산지가 많다. 계단형 논밭이 경작지로 활용되고 있다.
Nepal is a mountainous country.
They developed terraced fields for growing crops.
카트만두 시내
The city of Katmandu.
인구의 80%가 힌두교인인 나라답게 곳곳에 힌두교 사당이 있다.
과거 무슬림에 의한 파괴가 거의 없었던 나라답게 오래된 힌두유적들이 질 보존되아 있는 편이다.
80% of Nepalese population believe in Hinduism.
I could find Hindu temples everywhere in Nepal.
There were no destruction of Hindu relics by Muslims.
Hindu relics are well preserved in Nepal.

카트만두의 초등학생들
Primary school students in Katmandu.
한국에서 실크로드 일을 돕고있는 이상훈교수가 왔다.
Professor Sang Hoon Lee who was helping Silk Road pilgrimage came to Katmandu.
오랫만에 김치와 한국음식을 먹었다.
After a long while, I could eat kimchi and Korean food at a Korean restaurant.
이 식당에서 히말라야 석청을 팔고 있길래 샀다.
바위 틈에 있는 귀한 꿀이다.
At this Korean restaurant,
I could buy a bottle of wild honey which was collected at Himalaya mountains.
값은 80달러. 뜨거운 물에 한 숟갈씩 타 먹으면 좋다고 한다.
히말라야의 정기를 이 꿀로 받기로 했다.
The price of wild honey was 80$.
I decided to absorb Himalayan energy from this wild honey.
The dosage recommends to put one spoon of honey into hot water, and eat.
숙소는 시내 한복판에 있다.
공항으로부터 약 5km를 걸어서 도착했다.
The hotel was located at downtown.
We walked 5 km from the airport and reached at the lodging.
