본의 아니게 이틀간 최고급호텔에 묵었다. 1박에 세금까지 3천5백루피(약6만원).
대신 잠은 푹 잤다.
Unexpectedly, I stayed at top-level hotel for two days.
It cost me 3,500 rupee (about 60,000 won) including tax for one day.
Instead, I could sleep very well.
전형적인 농가모습의 하나
This is a typical appearance of Indian farm house.
닭들이 기운차다.
Hen and rooster look energetic.
호기심들이 왕성하다.
People show curiosity.
필자의 표정도 흐뭇하다.
I am much satisfied.
인도농촌의 전형적인 숲.
뜨거운 여름에는 한 몫 할 터이다.
This is typical forest in rural area of India.
In hot summer, the foreset will proivde refreshing air.
늙은 소들의 안식처이기도 하다.
The forest provides a shelter for old cattle.
큰 강을 넘으면 Sitapur가 나온다.
After crossing a big river, I entered Sitapur.
석류주스를 마시려 잠시 서있는 사이에 호기심 왕성한 이들이 몰려온다.
영어가 통하지 않지만 브로셔로 캘커타에서 1천키로 넘게 걸어왔다는 얘기는 쉽게 전달된다.
While I was standing for a cup of promegranate juice, curious youths approached to me.
Though I could not communicate with English, I handed out New Silk Road brochure.
Reading brochure, they understand New Silk Road.
어른들이 떠나고 뒤이어 몰려온 청소년들.
After adults, youths are gathering around me.
사탕수수밭에서 놀고 있는 소들.
Cattle are resting in the field of sugar cane.
사진속 대머리의 노인분이 필자를 멀리서부터 초대했다. 벌써 소식이 전해진 모양이다.
그리고는 점심을 접대한다.
The news about my pilgrimage is going ahead of me.
The bald man in the picture invited me and served lunch to me.
이들중에는 영어를 하는 이가 있어서 순례의 목적을 이해하고는 일행들에게 힌두어로 설명하니 모두들 필자에게 감사의 표정과 몸짓을 한다. 필자도 뭉클하다.
Among the crowd, there was a man who could speak English.
He understood my pilgrimage and explained New Silk Road in Hindu.
Everyone understood my pilgrimage. They expressed thanks by gesture and appearance.
아이들에게도 브로셔를 나누어 주었다.
I handed out brochure even to kids.
전형적인 농가의 하나
A typical appearance of farm house.
지나가다가 사탕수수를 짜고 있는 농가를 발견했다.
I found a farmer who was extracting sugar cane.
아이들이 신나게 기계를 돌리면 사탕수수즙을 짜내고 있다.
필자가 보고 있자니 한컵 건네준다. 달콤하고 짜릿한 맛이다. 이맛을 어디에서 맛보랴~
A boy is turning sugar cane machine.
I looked at him. He gave me a cup of sugar cane juice.
The taste was sweet and refreshing.
Tasting sugar cane juice was an extraordinary experience.
학교부근에서 달걀을 간식으로 팔고 있다.
대개는 삶은 달걀을 팔지만 필자는 오믈렛을 주문했다.
맛있어 보이는 요리과정을 찍었다.
They sell egg and others as snack near school.
I ordered omelet instead of boiled egg.
I took pictures of cooking process.
오늘의 종점인 17km지점은 시장이다. 짜이를 마시는 동안에 왕성한 호기심으로 다가온 사람들.
I walked 17 km today. The final destination was market place.
While I was drinking a cup of tea, curious people gathered around me.
급기야는 이 마을의 촌장쯤 되는 사람들에게 안내되어 갔다.
영어가 통하지 않았지만 사우스코리아는 모두 알고 있다. 물론 김정은도.
그리고, 캘커타 보드가야 고락푸르 룸비니 쉬라바스티 그리고 '걸어서'라는 뜻의 '바이탈'이란 말은 알아듣는다.
설명을 듣는 순간 악수세례다.
이 곳에서는 먹을 것도 잔뜩 챙겨준다.
At last, a man who seemed to a head of the village invited me.
Even though they could not understand English, they all knew South Korea and Kim Jeong Eun in the north.
They also understood the words such as Calcutta, Bodgaya, Gorakpur, Lumbini, Shravasti and 'vaital'
which means 'walking'.
As soon as they understand my pilgrimage, they rush to shake hands with me.
In addition, they gave me much food to eat.
떠나는 버스에까지 따라온 아이들
Children gathered to the departing bus.
