1. 큰 도시 Bareilly로 가는 길에 접어들었다.
I approached to a big road leading to Bareilly, a very large city in India.
2. 어제의 도착지에서 다시 출발.
I started at the point where I stopped yesterday.
3. 스카프를 두른 이 청년은 필자를 보자마자 자신의 노점카페에서 짜이를 대접하겠다고 제스추어를 한다.
The youth with scarf gestured to serve me chai at his stall cafe, at the moment when he saw me.
4. 잠시 머무는 사이에 주변사람들이 몰려들었다.
Villagers flocked to me while I stay for a while.
5. 사우스코리아라는 걸 알고는 더 좋아한다.
They exclaimed when they found out that I am from South Korea.
6. 이럴 땐 캘커타에서 걸어온 얘기로 분위기를 잡고,
김정은의 북핵 얘기까지 꺼낸다. 그러면 쉽게 알아듣는다. 그리고 그보다 더 위험한 핵발전소로 얘기로 마무리한다. 전세계 450개가 지진에 속수무책이라고. 그래서 달라이라마님과 프란치스코교황께 함께 해결하자고 말씀드리려 2년동안 걸어가는 중이라고.
The order of my explanation of New Silk Road goes this way.
I begin to say that I started to walk from Calcutta. I mention North Korean leader, Kim Jung Eun, and nuclear weapons.
Then they understand with ease. Finally, I mention nuclear power plant which are more dangerous than nuclear weapons.
I stress that 450 nuclear power plants on the earth are very vulnerable to earthquake. I am walking for two years. I would like to meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Pope Francisco and urge them to work together for this purpose.
7. 강변에서 염색들을 하고 있다.
People were dyeing at riverside.
8. 오래된 시가지로 접어든다.
I entered into old section of the city.
9. 사탕수수 원액 덩어리를 통째로 팔고 있다.
They were selling lump of sugar cane extracts.
10. 오래된 동네 사원이다.
This is an old village temple.
11. 동네 한복판의 생과일주스 가게. 위생적으로 관리하고 있다.
This man was selling raw fruit juice. He was very careful in terms of sanitation.
12. 물소들이 일제히 강을 건너고 있다.
Many water buffaloes are crossing the river simultaneously.
13. 동네 속에도 이슬람 관련 시설이 있다.
Inside the village, I could find a building related with Islam.
14. 누군가 셀피를 원하여 잠시 머물면 주변에서 사람들이 호기심을 갖고 온다. 그러면 함께 셀피.
Whenever I stop in order to take a selfie of someone, curious villagers gather.
Then I take a selfie with all of them.
15. 현대자동차 대리점을 지나친다. 고장 안 나고 에프터서비스를 잘 하는지 모르겠다.
I passed by a Hyundai car agency.
I wished Hyundai car would be successful in terms of no-trouble and good-service.
16. 오토바이를 개조하여 만든 릭샤도 디자인이 많다.
인도, 동남아 등 더운 지방에서는 이런 오픈 된 형태의 릭샤가 널리 이용된다.
They remodeled motorcycle and designed various kinds of ricksha.
In hot regions like India and south-east Asia, open-type rickshas are widely used.
17. 걸어가는 동안에 무슨 생각을 하느냐는 질문을 받았다. 좋은 질문이다.
많이 걸어보신 분은 알겠지만 걷는 동안에 좋은 생각이 저절로 많이 난다. 발바닥이 자극되면 머리쪽에도 피가 잘 도는 모양이다. 생각이 생각을 낳고 해서 새로운 발상이 나오면 스스로 감탄할 때도 있다. 칸트가 폼으로 산보한 게 아니다.
그래서 필자는 생각할 꺼리가 있으면 걸을 때 생각하려고 일부러 미뤄둔다. 그러다가 이런 한적한 길을 만나면 그걸 꺼내어 생각하기 시작하는데 상당한 성과가 나오는 편이다. 걸으면서 생각하는 재미가 있다.
One of the most frequently asked questions is "What are you thinking about, when you are walking?"
It seems to be a good question. Those of you who have walked a lot, may understand that while we walk good ideas arise. I think that stimulating sole facilitates the circulation of blood in brain. I am surprised to find that a piece of thinking triggers another new thinking. I think same phenomenon happened to Immanuel Kant whose walking habit was well-known. Therefore, when I come upon a new idea, I postpone thinking about it. And when I walk a quiet road like above picture, I bring up the idea and start to think about it. In most cases, this strategy succeed and I can find out a solution. It is amusing for me to walk and think.

They are building a new school.
19. 의과대학과 병원이다.
Medical college and hospital.
20. 동네를 지나칠 때는 사람들과 수시로 셀피를 하므로 바쁜 편이다. 이런 한가한 길이야 말로 생각하기에 좋다.
요즘은 원전오염수 대책, 그리고 2019년에 할 일을 많이 생각하는 편이다.
When I enter into a village I meet villagers and take selfie frequently, which make me somewhat busy.
This kind of quiet road is very good for thinking by myself.
These days, I am thinking about measures about polluted water from Fukushima nuclear accident, and things to do in 2019.
21. 멀리 사람 몸집만한 두루미 종류가 보인다.
I found big birds of crane-family far away.
생각하다보니 28km나 걸었다.
요즘 필자의 컨디션이 좋은가 보다~
I kept on thinking and thinking, and walked 28 km today.
My body seems to be in good condition these days.

I ate a cup of raw fruit juice at today's destination.
