1. 필자가 닷새를 묵은 Lee Grand 호텔 관계자들과 기념 촬영. 이름이 마음에 든다~
I took a picture with the staff of Lee Grand Hotel where I stayed for 5 days.
I like the name of the hotel because of 'Lee'.
2. 지름길인 시골길로 접어들었다.
I entered into a country lane, a shortcut.

4. 지름길 답게 전기줄이 놓여 있다.
Since it was a shortcut, there was telegraphpole.
5. 잡초가 무성한 길을 관리하려고 불로 태운다.
They made a fire in order to manage the weeds.

7. 건천도 보인다.
I saw a dry stream.
8. 2차선도로로 접어들었다. 멀리 다람살라가 있는 북쪽으로 방향을 잡아서 걸어간다.
I entered into a road with two lanes. I am headed to the north, where Dharamshala is located far away.
9. 학생들은 호기심이 많다.
Students are always curious.

12. 할아버지와 손자. 인도다운 풍경이다.
A grandfather and a grandson. This scene is very India-like.

15. 길가에 사탕수수잎사귀가 깔려서 걷기가 푹신하다.
Dry sugarcane leaves were spread on the road. It was cushiony to walk.
16. 경찰 두사람이 필자의 설명을 듣더니 짜이를 대접한다. 인심좋은 분들이다.
Two policemen listened to my explanation of New Silk Road. They served me chai. They were generous.
17. 아이들이 멀리서부터 옹기종기 모여 필자를 지켜보더니 마주 손을 흔든다.
These boys stood in a cluster far away. They watched me, and responded to my waving hand.
18. 이 동네도 필자와 같은 나그네가 흔치 않은듯. 고등학생들이 학교앞에서 필자에게 다가왔다.
They seldom saw a pilgrim like me. High school students approached me in front of school.
19. 필자의 모자도 빌려간 다음 단체사진.
One guy borrowed my hat and took a group photo.

21. 한적한 길에서 오토바이 사고를 목격했다. 오히려 복잡한 도로에서는 사고를 본 적이 없다.
At a deserted street, I witnessed a motorcycle accident.

24. 조용한 연못이 있어서 사진을 찍고 있으니,
I was taking a picture of a quiet pond.
25. 연못을 내려다 보는 위치의 병원 사람이 필자에게 다가와서 의사선생님에게 인내한다.
One staff of a hopital standing downward-sloping, approached and guided me to the medical doctor of the hospital.
26. 의사 집무실이 들여다보이는 곳에서 잠시 기다렸다.
I waited for a while where I could look in doctor's office.
27. 이 의사선생님은 필자가 걸어가는 걸 차에서 눈여겨 봐 두었다가, 필자를 초청하도록 한 것 같다.
This doctor saw me while he drive a car. And he asked the staff to invite me, I guess.
28. 그럴싸한 찻잔에 짜이를 마셨다.
I enjoyed chai, using an elegant cup.
29. 그리고는 병원직원들과 기념사진.
And I took a picture with the staff of the hospital.
30. 남자간호사들만 있는듯.
I could see only male nurses.
31. 야채를 파는 가게를 아이가 지키고 있다.
A boy is taking care of a grocery store.
32. 빗자루. 싸리로 만든 것일까.
I guess these brooms were made of bush clover.
33. 이슬람학교앞이다.
In front of an Islam school.
34. 아이들이 쏟아져 나왔다.
Many schoolboys rushed to me.
35. 나그네에게 환호성을 지른다.
They exclaimed to see a traveler.
36. 이 동네는 식물원이 많다. 부유층을 고객으로 삼는듯.
I could find many botanic gardens in this village.
I guess the customers of the gardens must be high-class people.

Students are curious.
38. 여학생들도 기꺼이 셀피에 참여했다.
Female students joined in taking a selfie.
39. 지난번 본 관개수로 보다는 작지만 수량이 풍부하다. 멀리 수문도 보인다.
Although this stream had less streamflow than the waterway I saw several days ago, this stream has much stream.
I could see a sluice far away.
40. 번듯한 LG가게다. 이 일대의 전자상가중에는 장사를 잘 하고 있는듯.
I found a nice LG store. The LG store seemed to run a business very well.
41. 길건너 시장통이 보인다.
Over the street, I could see a bustling market place.

44. 오후 2시가 지나면서 갑자기 천둥번개가 치더니 비가 쏟아진다.
이럴 때를 대하여 나그네의 배낭에는 우의와 우산이 항상 비치되어 있다.
Around two o'clock in the afternoon, I met a thunderstorm and rain suddenly.
To prepare for this kind of crisis, I am carrying a raincoat and an umbrella in my backpack.
45. 예기치 않았던 폭우였던지 모두들 길가의 점포나 대피공간에 머물고 있다.
필자 혼자 빗속을 뚫고 걸어가고 있자니 호기심 넘치는 청년들이 빗속을 뜷고 다가온다.
Since the rainstorm happened all of a sudden, all the people evacuated to a store at roadside or shelters.
I was walking in the rain alone. Curious youths approached me in the rain.
46. 도착지에서 얘기를 나누다가 함께 버스를 탄 청년들. 필자의 차비를 대신 내어준다.
At the finishing point, I had a conversation with the youths in the bus. They paid my bus fare.
오늘 희소식을 들었다.
Today, I heard a good news.
제주에서 출발하여 한라에서 백두까지 걷고 있는 성원기교수팀의 탈핵희망국토도보순례에 강우일주교님도 함께 걸으셨다는 소식이다.
