닷새를 걸은 후 어제 하루 쉬고 다시 걷는다.
After five days' walking I had one day off yesterday.
I start to walk again.
1. 출발지의 동네
A village at the starting point.
2. 그저께 마칠 때 만났던 마을 사람들이 필자를 보더니 순식간에 모였다.
People whom I met the day before yesterday saw me and flocked to me.
3. 좀더 이야기를 나누고 단체사진을 찍는 동안에,
After conversation, I took a picture with them.
4. 마을의 구루 되시는 분이 등장한다.
An elder who looked like a guru appeared.
5. 공손히 설명한 후 기념촬영.
I explained about New Silk Road with politeness, and took a picture.
6. 새들이 보인다.
I saw some birds.
7. 사탕수수작업을 하는 곳이다.
Farmers are working in sugar cane field.
8. 햇볕이 좋다. 며칠전 비에 젖었던 소똥반죽이 잘 마르고 있다.
The sunshine was pleasant. The cattle dung which became wet after rain a few days ago, are drying very well.
9. 마치 봄날 같다. 기온이 20도를 넘고 있다.
The weather was pleasant just like spring. Temperature was over 20 degrees.
10. 소 달구지를 끄는 이가 필자에게 위에 앉아 가기를 권유한다. 필자는 웃으며 사양.
A man who was sitting on oxcart recommended me to get on. I smiled and refused with appreciation.
11. 수확후의 사탕수수밭을 불태우고 있다. 새들이 지켜보고 있다. 먹을 게 나오나보다.
Farmers were burning remnants at sugar cane field after harvest.
Birds are watching. Birds know that there must be something to eat.

15. 사탕수수는 벼과의 작물이다. 물을 많이 먹는 편이다.
Sugar cane is a plant belonging to gramineous family, and consumes much water.
16. 대평원의 사탕수수밭 지역에는 이런 수로가 촘촘하게 들어서 있다.
The waterways are constructed thickly at the sugar cane field of the great plains.

18. 쉬는 시간에 페이스북을 보니 이런 그림이 떴다. 미국의 핵발전소 분포와 지진위험도를 그린 것이다. 미국도 위험한 동네다. 그 동네에서 벌어지는 총기난사는 매스컴이라도 타지만 이런 근본적 위험은 잘 다루지 않는다.
지구촌도 마찬가지다. '위험의 자본화'라고 할까, 그런 풍조가 만연되어 있고 이에 대한 개인이나 소수의 노력은 한계가 있다. 그런 테크니컬하고 조직적이고 자본투하적인 위험이 지구촌을 볼모로 잡고 있다.
While I rest, I connected to facebook, and I found this picture. This map described the locations of nuclear power plants, and the degree of seismic hazard. The U.S. is a very dangerous society. The rifle accidents are reported by press. But the danger of earthquake is reported seldomly. The earth is dangerous just like any other accidents. I would express global nuclear danger as 'capitalization of danger'. This trend is prevalent and the efforts to minimize the capitalized danger is very limited. This kind of dangers are very technical, and very well organized. Capitalized danger is controlling the earth as pawn.

22. 이 친구는 필자를 기다렸다가 이 앞의 코스는 위험하니 자신의 차를 이용하라고 한다.
This friend had waited for me, and recommend that the course in the front is dangerous. He asked me to ride his car.
23. 사양하고 걷다보니 경찰을 자주 만난다.
I refused with appreciation and continued to walk.

When I met these people first, I thought the the danger they are talking about was not serious
25. 경찰을 또 만나다 보니 위험한 동네인가 보다 하는 생각이 들었다. 차들이 많이 오가는 큰 길인데도..
I met these policemen and I thought the village in the front may have some safety problem.
But the streets were wide and busy with cars.
26. 석양이 넘어가는 중에 만난 또 한 친구가 위험을 얘기하면서 자신의 오토바이를 타라고 한다.
사양했다. 하지만 충고를 듣고는 바로 숙소로 가는 버스를 타기로 했다.
I kept walking around sunset. I met another friend.
He said, "It is dangerous for you to walk alone. Please get on my motorcycle."
I refused again. But after second thought, I decided to take a bus going directly to my shelter.
