Ambala ~ Dera Bassi

1. 어제의 도착지이자 오늘의 출발지인 Ambala의 Kingfisher 호텔. 이틀을 여기서 묵는다. 예전에는 고급호텔 같은데 1박당 2200루피.
This is Kingfisher Hotel in Ambala, which is the finishing point yesterday and starting point of today's pilgrimage. I am going to stay for two days at this hotel which seems to be a high-level hotel in the past. The price of one-day stay is 2200 rupee.
2. 출발한지 얼마 안되어 13살의 중학생이 호기심으로 접근해왔다.
Soon after I started, a curious middle-school student approached me. He was 13 years old.
3. 그러자 주위의 친구들도 곧바로 몰려든다.
Then his friends nearby came to me.
4. 어느 중학교의 교정이 보인다.
I saw the play ground of a middle school.
5. 자세히 보니 기도하는 시간이다. 그냥 지나치기로 했다.
With a close look, I found that it was prayer time. I just passed by.
6. 얼마 지나지 않아서 초등학교를 만난다. 학생들이 마당에 앉아 있는데 그중에서도 어린 아이들이 귀엽다.
After a while, I saw primary school. The students are sitting on the ground.
The young students were very cute.
7. 교장실로 먼저 안내받았다.
I was guided to the office of the principal.
8. 오랫만에 전교생에게 지도를 펼쳐놓고 설명할 시간을 가졌다.
After a long while, I had a chance to spread the map and explain about New Silk Road.
9. 필자의 설명후 교장선생님이 다시 힌두어로 설명하신다. 그 장면을 셀피로 담있다.
After my explanation in English, the principal explained in Hindu. I took a selfie of the scene.
10. 설명을 마친 후 아이들은 필자에게 엄청난 박수세례를 보낸다. 응원박수인 '짝짝 짜자작'도 포함하여~
감동이다.
When the explanation was over, the students gave me big hands. They clapped in cheering mode too.
I was deeply impressed.
11. 마친 후 교장선생님과 함께 짜이 한잔.
Later, I ate chai with the principal in his office.
12. 고가도로위를 한참을 걸어가는데 주인도 없는 소 한 마리가 눈에 띈다.
When I was walking on overpass, I saw a cow. I could not find the owner of the cow.
13. 길을 건너려고 몇차례나 시도히다가 몰려오는 차들의 경적소리에 추춤거리고 있다.
The cow tried to cross the road several times. But the cow hesitated at the horn of cars.
14. 그래도 기어코 건너고야 만다.
Finally, the cow succeeded in crossing the road.
15. 이젠 반대측 차선마저도 돌파해서 완전히 건너갔다. 그리고는 자신이 원하던 곳인 고가도로 아래쪽으로 방향을 180도로 꺽어서 걸어간다. 감탄스런 장면이다.
Now the cow crossed the car lane of opposite direction. Then the cow headed toward the direction under the overpass by turning 180 degrees. It was fascinating scene.
16. 저층의 고급아파트지구가 보인다.
I could see luxurious and low-rise apartment complex.

18. 이 분이 오늘의 주인공이다. 필자를 Bodh Gaya에서 봤는데 길을 걸어가는 것을 보고 반가워서 여기서 기다렸다.
Bodh Gaya는 지금부터 1년전 들렀던 곳으로서 부처님이 성불하신 성지다. 그곳은 힌두교도들에게도 성지이기도 한데 그는 Bodh Gaya의 보리수나무가 있는 마하봇디에서 필자를 보았다는 것.
영어는 한마디도 못하면서 몸짓으로 그 내용을 필자에게 전달한다.
This gentleman is the hero of today's pilgrimage. He saw me walking at Bodh Gaya at first time.
He was glad to see me, and waited for me here. I walked at Bodh Gaya one year ago.
Bodh Gaya is a sanctuary where Buddha achieved enlightenment. Bodh Gaya is also a sanctuary for the Hidu. He said he saw me at Mahabodti where the bo tree was located. He could not speak English. But he succeeded in expressing his story in body language.
20. 그리고는 필자에게 먹을 것을 잔뜩 싸준다. 그의 이름은 Tilochan Singh. 큰 인연이다.
Then, he gave me much food to eat. His name was Tilochan Singh. It was a significant karma.
21. 힌두여인들의 조각상이다.
Statues of Hindu women.
22. 음식점 입구에도 진열해놓았다.
Statues were standing in front of a restaurant too.
23. 공장지붕위에 제대로 설치된 태양광 패널. 남향으로서 경사도 안성맞춤이다.
Solar panels were properly located on the rooftop. They face toward the south and have proper gradient.
24. 그분이 아는 찻집에서 또 기다렸다가 필자를 맞이한다. 필자를 그냥 보내기에는 아쉬웠던 것일까.
The gentleman was waiting for me at a tea house which his friend managed.
He may have felt sad to see me off without meeting again.
25. 찻집사람들로부터 대접을 잘 받았다.
I received hospitality from the people in the tea house.
26. 멀리 야생돼지가 보인다. 새끼를 거느리고 있다.
I could see a wild boar far away. The boar had cubs.
27. 한참을 기다려 이 장면을 찍었다.
I waited for a while in order to take a picture of this scene.
28. 호기심을 보인 중학생들. 특히 터번 쓴 학생은 다람살라에 관심이 많다.
Curious middle-school students. In specific, the student with turban was very interested in Daramshala.
29. 양들이 지나가고 있다.
A flock of sheep is passing by.
30. 갑자기 한국말로 다가온 이 분도 오늘 만난 중요한 분이다. 걸어가는 이가 힌국인인 것을 알고는 한참을 기다린듯.
경기도 구리 이천 등에서 9년을 살다가 한달전 귀국했단다. 마침 Chandigarh에 살고 있다길래 모레쯤 점심을 함께 하기로 했다.
This gentleman approached me, speaking in Korean. This man is also an important figure of today's pilgrimage.
He found out that I was a Korean. He waited for me for a long while. He had lived at Guri and Icheon in Kyounggido for 9 years. He came back to India one month ago. I made an appointment to meet him at Chandigarh where he lives in.
I am going to meet him for lunch, the day after tomorrow.
