1. 호텔 프런트에서 체크아웃을 하면서 눈에 뜨인 부처님 영정.
I happened to see the portrait of Buddha on the wall when I check out of the Hotel.
2. 비가 오는 가운데 출발한다.
It was raining when I start to walk.
3. 교복과 터번이 이쁜 아이들이 스쿨버스를 기다리고 있다가 필자와 만났다.
I met these cute students waiting for the school bus. They wore beautiful uniform and turban.
4. 관공서 건물인듯.
This building seems to be a government office.
5. Punjab은행은 인도전역에 지점을 두고 있을 정도로 규모가 크다. 부자동네의 상징이라고 할만하다.
Punjab national bank is a very large organization which has many branches all over India.
It may be called a symbol of rich village.
6. 시크교 사원인듯
I guess this is Sikh temple.
7. 오늘은 천둥번개 소나기 우박 가랑비가 하루종일 반복되었다. 날씨뉴스가 인터넷에도 화제거리였다.
그런 가운데 이 찻집에 앉아 볏짚 파고라 아래서 짜이를 마시면서 쏟아지는 빗소리를 감상하는 것도 별미였다.
Throughout the whole day I encountered shower, thunderstorm, hail, and drizzle.
The weather news of today achieved much attention in internet.
It was an exotic experience to hear the rainfall and enjoy chai at pergola tea house which was made of rice straw.

9. 나그네가 누군지 궁금한 주인이 다가왔다.
The owner of the tea house became curious and approached me.
10. 다른 찻집에서 만난 인상좋은 분과 함께. 필자의 비옷차림도 찍혔다.
I met this good-looking man at another tea house. My raincoat is seen in the picture.
11. 잠시 비가 그친 사이 걸어가다가 이분들이 생과일가게에서 차를 세우고 기다리더니,
I was walking when rain stopped for a while. These men stopped the car in front of a fruit store and waited for my arrival.
12. 나그네에게 주스를 대접한다. '나마스테!'
He offered me a cup of juice. Namaste!
13. 마침 자동차도 현대꺼라서 기념으로 찍었다.
Opportunely the car was Hyundai-made. I took a picture for commemoration.
14. 시크교사원을 만났다.
I encountered a Sikh temple.
15. 출입문이 따로 없이 길가에 개방되어 있다.
There was no entrance gate. You can just enter the temple.
16. 비도 오는데 차한잔 마시고 가라고 권유한다.
A gentleman invited me to stop and eat chai.
17. 사무실 안으로 들어가니 원로분들이 필자의 걸어온 이야기와 목적을 상세히 묻는다.
참고로 시크교는 사제를 따로 두지 않는 시스템이라고 들었다.
I entered the office. The elders asked me about my pilgrimage in detail.
I heard that Sikhism is a religious system which has no priesthood, just for your reference.
18. 이분이 가장 높은 분이다. 존함은 Gurmit Singh.
This gentleman is the most high elder. His name was Gurmit Singh.
19. 대지가 비로 촉촉히 적셔지고 있다.
The rain soaked the soil and plants.

21. 히말라야산맥으로부터의 맑은 물이 흐르는 관개수로. 인더스강 지류인 Sutlej강에서 물을 빼서 수로를 만들었다.
The clear water of this waterway is originating from Himalaya mountains.
People diverted water from Sutlej River which is a tributary of Indus River.
22. 멀리 수문도 보인다. 이 정도 공사를 하고 유지관리를 철저히 하고 있는데서 이 지역의 부를 짐작할만 하다.
I could see a sluice far away. The proper management of water in this region indicates the wealth of this region.
23. 축대를 자세히 보니 벽돌을 구워서 쌓았다. 꽤 오래 된듯한 수로다.
I had a close look at embankment. It was made of brick. The waterway seems to be considerably old.
24. 다리도 철교로 튼튼히 지었다. 이 지역의 인프라 정비는 수준급이다.
The bridge was made of steel, and looked sturdy.
The maintenance of infrastructure in this region seems to be in high-level.
25. 마칠 때까지 하늘이 변화무쌍하다. 큰 강 유역이 교차하는 동네답다.
Until I finish today's course, the weather was changeful.
The weather of intersection of two big rivers is unpredictable.
